This whole thing feels more like it was made in G-mod than an officially licensed marvel game

Can totally recognize how this game is really cool mechanically and in combat, but the plot and voice acting in this game are absolutely hysterical.

I've never seen anyone else work for their "me when" jokes like Penny does.

The goddamn trivia QTEs in this game fucking murdered me, who looked at the development of this game and thought, "You know what we should add as a core component of our morality system? Homework" Edit: Penny absolutely losing her mind at 30:02 onward on how letting Electro die was the GOOD OPTION is also incredibly cathartic. Because yeah, it _would_ be the objectively better choice to team up with the villains to defeat an even greater threat if that's what it takes and because the other villains are like "hey, I live in this city too, I don't want it to get destroyed by alien goop zombies". That's, like, one of the best tropes ever! How did they fuck that up?

Spider-Man Web of Shadows: The game that says Spider-Man helping save a supervillians life after getting possessed is not something morally in character for him, yet throwing women off of a building is.

Spiderman trying to act cool around Black Cat because chat voted for him to go to the dark side makes perfect sense. Twitch chat and decisions that lead to cringe go together like peanut butter and jelly.

6:34 I had an ad right when it cut to them outside, and I have to say, hearing Spiderman go "uh oh," all cartoony, Vulture charging at the camera without warning, and then it awkwardly cutting to them outside gave me my biggest confused laughing fit in recent memory.

The funniest part about all of the "haha Kingpin = fat" jokes in this game is that, canonically, Fisk is almost entirely muscle

I love how so much of this game looks like Xavier Renegade Angel. My favorite scene is the wave turning all the symbiote monsters at back into people, you can tell that there's duplicate people in the cutscene.

I honestly love the whole transformation this game's open world has, where it goes from a normal city to a warzone. I'm a sucker for that kinda stuff (also a sucker for standing on moving vehicles in games. It's very possible that Spider-Man: Web of Shadows (2008) would be my favorite game if I played it today)

The dialogue in this game feels like fandub but not like in a good or funny way more like a bunch of 15 year olds just improvised some "cool" dialogue on the spot and made their older siblings and parents to voice act it (especially this line 20:03)

When I played this game at 8 years old, I was somehow too stupid to realize that it had a morality choice system, I literally just thought the prompts were asking you which suit you wanted for the cutscene as a cosmetic. So when I got the evil ending where Spider-Man becomes the evil overlord of a symbiote-possessed New York, I spent the next like 5 years thinking that was just the canon ending

one of the things that kinda nags at me about this game's dialogue is the weird rejection of typical spiderman humor/dynamics. he's still quipping but nobody else is buying into it bc everyone else is cartoonishly edgy. why are spiderman's allies, in his game, telling him to shut up when he drops a stupid pun? why is he the only one playing in the space? where's the genre????

Constantly calling Kingpin fat is a running theme in the comics. Aside from calling Kingpin corrupt, pretty much the only thing Spidey insults him about is his weight and it always makes Kingpin furious. Kingpin's "fat" is actually all muscle, but Peter doesn't care.
