Spider-Man: Web of Shadows is Unreasonably Funny 

I love the evil options in this game. Spiderman escalating a gang war so they all kill eachother, therefore eliminating gang violence is darkly hilarious.

So this game is just the Shadow the Hedgehog of Spider-Man. Lukewarm critical reception, incredibly melodramatic, good and evil routes and an extremely over the top storyline that's unintentionally funny.

Now that I'm older, I can admit that some things in this game can range from unintentionally funny to downright bad. But god does this game have a soft spot in my heart.

One thing I love about this game is that the DS version is an entirely different game with a different story. It's a metroidvania game about Spiderman and various other heroes and villains teaming up against a common enemy, with characters like Nightcrawler, the Green Goblin, and Black Cat all joining your side as you face down a greater foe together. It's unironically pretty decent, and nothing at all like it's counterparts

My favorite part of this entire game is the fact that you can collect so many emblems and get so much swing speed to the point where the game starts DROPPING FRAMES

The way you switch between your normal voice and all those other ones is so wild, that's amazing

Thank you, editors and Penny, for always giving these highlights dedicated captions. As someone with ADHD, I sometimes struggle with understanding what's being said in videos. It's nice to also see captions to give context for character voices, inflection, and even the alternating/all caps to convey HOW it's being said. It's a shame that RU-vid removed the Community Subtitles feature, because it allowed a lot more videos to actually have these. Not everyone has an audience with enough demand for custom captions to warrant hiring someone to do it, but if someone in the community wanted to make those captions in their spare time, they could. I swear, every time RU-vid has a good feature, they scrap it because "not enough people were using it," and 9 times out of 10, it's because RU-vid themselves did a crappy job of actually telling people that feature existed, or how to use it

Penny's ability to use both a male and female voice is just far too powerful.

It's fascinating, normally I have to try to tell Penny's voice acting bits from the actual voices using subtitles or context, but in this I just have to remember that when spider-man actually sounds like spider-man it's never the game

I got to play this a few times as a kid at my cousin’s place. I remember finding it the coolest experience ever, specifically, the freedom to swing around a giant city… I expected feelings of nostalgia from this, but that didn’t quite happen. It felt like a stranger to me until the last two minutes… Purposely failing the QTEs at the end of Black Cat’s fight, now that brought back memories.

I loved this game as a kid. Fighting on the side of buildings was absolutely hype, and something not done since in anything unless you count Bayonetta. Even then, though, I could recognize how choosing both symbiote and spiderman choices made things oddly unbalanced, sort of like how in Infamous games you go either full hero or full villain, no in-between.

10:11 This is actually kinda true, since being Spider-Man is its own insane fitness regimen by itself. Web swinging incorporates a lot of abdominal crunches (not to mention the flexibility needed for all the crazy poses he does mid-air), the wall-crawling is basically the equivalent of rock-climbing, and he lifts extremely heavy things on the regular. If you’re Spider-Man for long enough, you *WILL* become absolutely shredded. So the idea that he also tries to stay in shape with web-dumbells is 100% believable to me.
