Gwen understood that Miles had a crush on her . Even though not directly acknowledging it in front of him ,she was seen fondly looking at the selfie and smiling which potentially made clear that she likes him more than just a friend. Her inner self realised that she missed the opportunity when Miles friendzoned her during the goodbye scene in ITSV. And that's why the obsession and later the love began to unfold. Thinking and seeing his reflection everywhere and every time, even going out to make the selfie as a polaroid picture, keeping the shaved hairstyle as Miles liked it over a year(in intro her hairstyle changed a lot with different outfits)even though she knew she might not get a chance to meet him again. Peter was gwen's best friend and shared many moments together but Gwen and Miles had very minimal interactions . She could simply had forgotten about him and moved on. And here came the turning point that she was gradually developing feelings for him.(she was least interested in Miguel's story, only looking at the watch ) And likely their bond is more than just a friendship. That's why Gwen is seen yearning for Miles's company thus eventually joining the spider society. Miles is the last meaningful connection left in her life so she can't even imagine to lose it. He only understands her ,respects her boundaries help her overcome her fears and making her feel valued just like other teenagers . Thats why Gwen gets vulnerable and confides in him . Her definition of "only friend" is that only Miles can get close and is very much special to her. So she leans on him thus deliberately initiating the closeness just like first time in Vison academy she initiated the conversation after Miles made the Einstein joke which meant she was interested in him from beginning and possibly the liking started during the heartfelt conversation in the busride in ITSV.She was mainly closed off that time to avoid distraction. Miles clearly showed that he was worthy of her just like true gentleman once in the clocktower scene and again by cutting her off during the chase scene with tears in his eyes portraying how much he loved her and it was painful for him to say the "goodbye". So Gwen learnt the lesson and not going to commit the same mistake by pushing the loved ones and running away from problems. And here came the respect and admiration for him. So while returning home she noticed her reflection on the window after long time than the reflection of spider gwen burdened with duties and responsibilities . She rediscovered her true self and who is going to follow her heart from then on. There need to be a big apology scene in BTSV to fix their broken relationship. 🥺
@@MartnMann Yes ik dw, I just meant because they so obviously love each other, that the word friendship almost doesn't feel accurate lol, just a small joke :)
Friendship. Miles isn’t ready for a relationship with Gwen. She has lied too many times, and didn’t do anything to save his father. Personally, I would care more about my father than about a random girl I met a year ago, that just started talking to me again out of the blue.
@@ericadanyell I get what you mean but dnt act like gwen didnt go through hardships. Miguel and the spider society rescued her from her home situation therefore she trusted them and their way of thinking more than anyone. She also blatantly states that she feels extremely bad about lying to miles in the intro song. Besides the fact that the first thing she did after returning to her dimension was try to steal the photo of her and miles from his fathers coffee table. Lastly at the end of the movie she organized a whole hit squad to save her man. Needless to say she loves him as much a he loves her.
@@Burnt_notfound if I'm not wrong it is shown on story arch called sitting in a three. It starts on Miles Morales Comic number 19/20(2016) and continues for more 3 comics on the Miles Morales Comic and in also 3 comics from Spider-Gwen (2015)
I saw the beginning hang out in someone else's post and love the soundtrack for that hang out sequence. I also love the hippie guitar carrying spider people in this video.
I can't help but think that they should have immediately put Miles and Gwen together either here or in the first film. I get that the first film was about Gwen opening herself up to having friends again and Miles becomes her first real friend since Peter. However, in this sequel I think it would have been even more interesting if they got together here and it would have added to the drama that happens later. To illustrate, if you'll indulge me. When Gwen visits Miles in his room here. What if she had kissed him instead of hugging him, or perhaps when they talk upside down later they have their first kiss (perhaps re-creating one of their iconic comic book covers where they kiss upside down). Then that could submit that they are together. We then have the scene where they swing around the city or eat at Miles's family's get together be their first official date. In addition, to the meeting the parents scene and then have the events that unfold later in the movie be their first fight or the thing that gets in the way of their relationship. A la what you see in most romantic comedies or stories. Idk just a thought, hopefully with what they are doing they pay it off by having them actually kiss or something in the next film 🤔. Thank you if you read this far and have a blessed one 😎.
She couldn't get too close, fearing that she'd lose another person she cared about. Every time she cared for someone, she lost them (Peter, her father). By the end of the movie, that fear isn't there anymore, even mentioning to Miles' parents that she learned from him that 'it's all possible'.
@techfactz3596 Agreed 100%. The resistance of speed running their development was definitely the better choice. The transition of gwen being afraid on the clock tower, to fearing history repeated itself when miles was crushed, to eventually her believing its all possible after talking to her dad. We needed those events so that their eventual reconciliation pays off. The anticipation will be killing us and them which honestly makes it all worth it.
@@CLDJ227 yeah but what about hobbie? I still didn't get what's his role on this drama. For example I still don't get why Pavitr asked miles if he knew about hobbie
@@benedictuspratamaokypagala6089 Okay, but at the same time Gwen lied to him the entire time. She talked to his parents knowing what was going to happen to his dad, without any care of the world. AND Gwen even lied about how many missions she had been on with Hobie, therefore meaning Gwen cannot be trusted. Sure, she will earn his trust again, but they’re not getting together. That would feel very forced considering the Miles just found out what Gwen did. He will definitely forgive her, but ultimately stay friends with her because he isn’t ready to date someone like that, and because he needs time after fighting The Spot and for his dad to live.
