This is MY hood. West Adams! I grew up with the Harpys and Rollin 20's. I played football against the original Dead End Boys on Walton and 29th. My hood was Leonardos, Vermont Avenue School, El Rey Tacos on Vermont and Adams. One day we were playing against some of the Dead End/Harpys at Exposition Park and a carload of 18street vatos rolled up. The Dead End homies told us to pause the game. All I can say is that game came to an end quick and we ran back to the hood! 🤣😂 Never had any Racial politics with the HPS in those days. Always solid. Like he said, it was about respect. Solute and West Adams ❤️ to OG Spider!
I loved hearing this brown brother share his experience. Please upload a longer interview and it would be great to expose more untold stories in detail about the abuse, harassment and racial profiling that the Rampart gang would do against not only gang members but brown people, Central American and Mexican, that lived in these areas during the 90s and 80s.
I actually used to work with a ws 18 streeter same age of this guy we went to his hood once in the Company truck pulled up to a street not far from Harpys his Family lived on 1 block every house had his family member in it. Told me stories about Harpys they was was with the Biz
The only reason why i stayed listening to hi power for all those years was because i knew spider an associate of hi power and to this day i think he is still in touch with them. Besides he didnt fit it all that well with tattoo Ink even though those are homies from his hood
I have a lot of respect for HPS. I was born in their neighborhood and I grew up respecting them. They would always look out for the people in the hood.
In the 90’s, it was wild. Harpy’s was surrounded by savages. Harpys we’re about that life, and they stood their ground, but they weren’t the toughest. They were surrounded in a 3 mile radius by MS, 18 (different clicks), Drifters, Eazy Riders, Play Boys, Mid City, Street Saints, Street Villains, Loco Park, 21St, 22St, 29st, 36St, 38St, ATC, 42LC, to name a few. In the 90’s, is when MS and 18 was deep and craziest. Ey, to this day I don’t stop by the AMPM gas station on Vermont and 21st. I know of 4 people that got their head blown off at that gas station. The Adams park was not a place you wanted to be at, after 5 pm.
este vato is very well spoken mi Saludos i respetos Stay up “spider” you are what we need more of (positive) role models and or anyone that spreads the menjase SOLID✊🏽
Its a trip but cool How we chicanos Talk english/spanish Everyother 2x words Hehe solid This channel could be Called Chicano cholo! But american cholo is alright
The young People of today, say the cops are tyrants, man these kids dont know what we had to go thru. It was the wild wild west, i Respected la chota/ cops cuz if i didnt they would snatch us up and give is a good putisa, it was about respect.
To be a great interviewer, one must listen carefully, write down questions to ask them at the right time to not cut off the speaker. Good shit though viva la raza!
That’s true about the cops 👮♂️ they did that to me a few times drop you off at the enemies hood…it was fucked up back in the days but I wish I can go back to the good old days😎💯
Kids don’t even know what CRASH was like. Some of them loved to pull your shirt up while searching you and push you down so your chest was getting burned on the hood of their car, on a hot summer day you’d get burned pretty good, they’d have you interlock your fingers and then squeeze all your fingers together, I HATED THAT! Or when they see you with a brand new white T-shirt on they’d love to make you lay on the dirty ass ground and ruin your new shirt. Man they knew all kinds of dirty little tricks that they couldn’t ever get in trouble for. I wonder how many people remember that.
Q-vo homie, saludos y respeto. I remember growing up in the late 80's and 90's with CRASH Unit picking you up and dropping you in a different neighborhood. I was left in RSL or TST hood after being released from LAPD Rampart.
This guy sounds way better then that other cat "Dubs" at least he doesn't talk on other Varrios, just his and you can tell his still proud of where his from.
The klan one of the most underrated hoods out there they were the first to really pop it off with east coast and the four packs. The first hood to really push that CK on them SC streets

Harpys, Dead End, Wild Bunch, A2M Has been around since the 60’s/70s Although gang injunction was given do to many crimes committed and also because of gentrification around USC. The area remains by USC / West Adams/ West LA/ South Central/ Downtown area.
Sameshit happened to me, thru literally ran their car into me on burnside and made me throw up 18 on gunpoint literally on the corner of apple and burnside and took a fucking picture of it, then they told me they had to handcuff me and they dropped me off in the street behind the Salvadorian flag mural on Rampart in the MS's Hood. Someone was watching cuz I made it to Bonnie Brae And Took The 35 Bk Home
