Have you ever cried over a fictional couple as much as you think you will never be happy again?
I watch a lot of tv shows, I have loved, suffered and cried for a lot of fictional couples but none of them will ever be spuffy to me.
Simple - I have never loved a fictional thing more than Spike and Buffy and I will never do.
It's been more than 10 years and I still haven't been able to process their ending, I will never be okay, ever. They broke my heart and spirit so many times and I still cry for them - yeah I know -. Call it sad, dramatic, too much or ever pathetic, the truth is, you will probably be right. I guess that's the effect your ultimate OTP has on you.
Think about it: Their whole story was about Spike becoming a better man for Buffy + Buffy never being able to tell Spike or even herself what she feels about him. He did become that better man for her, and she did tell him she loves him but he never believed it. Do you remember spike in s6 who was constantly trying to push Buffy admetting her feelings? He was so sure she loved him back. At the end, he died, thinking he wasn't loved back, thinking he wasn't good enough. Are you still okay after that?
I read somewhere on a DB that Angel was never able to love Buffy without his soul and Spike managed to fall in love with her soul-less. If this doesn't make you feel dead inside, I don't know what else could. Byeee
