Hello. Just a thought but if you used one of the spring clamps on you loose metal wrap it wouldn't fling around or you could use a rubber loop that slides like the loop used on belts to hold the extra in place.
@@MicBergsma Yes, the video is Hawaii but we use them in Florida. It's just a video, not us. That guy in the video does good work, that's why I used the video.
That's like going to a NASCAR race and sitting in the nose bleed seats. yeah it works, you see cars, but the view sucks. If you want to win, it takes the best of the best. But you can still race with a pinto, you wont win but you go round and round.
I have used them on a palm that is 52 inches around. Each band is about 60 inches so it worked well on that thick of a palm. Palms grow taller, not short and fat. If you have a bigger palm to climb then all you need is longer steel bands. The 60 inch ones cover 99% of the palms I climbed. I never seen or needed bigger bands. With longer bands you can climb fatter palms if needed.
Never liked that part which was hanging loose. It might hurt the climber. Why was he cutting down healthy green leaves????? The instrument needs to b improvised for safety.Thnks for vdo.
You're welcome to come by and use these and trim some palms to let us know what safety hazard you're concerned with. The video shows the long bands, when in reality, there are different length bands that can be used but not really needed as the end points away from the climber and are not a safety hazard. The video makes it look like they are a problem when they aren't. Thanks for noticing.
in my opinion, palm trees look much more beautiful left natural and untrimmed. I think they are sort of ugly when they arent trimmed. I like seeing tons of palms pointing in many directions, and its ok if the ones at the bottom are dead.
+Mike Younis Thanks, I know he does. Otherwise if he didnt, I would have fallen out of a palm tree a long time ago and met him. I am Yoshimra and I hate google and youtube cos they can never log me in correctly.
Mike Zeedan and it's also more healthy for the trees but in Hawaii it's illegal to have coconut trees without cutting off coconuts and leaving dead fronds a coconut could fall and hurt someone badly even kill them
@@yoshimra so what would be the total cost with shipping included And is there a way I can order it from you outside of this app, as I would need a tax invoice. We are an Aboriginal Social Enterprise
Keep trimming them like that and they're going to die. You're over trimming them which reduces the amount of energy the palm can produce. This will cause the trunk to deform (which we can already see at the top) and make it less resistant to pest and disease attack. Guests can stop complaining about the view being obscured.
Yeah we know.. Everyone says that. We have been trimming the hell out of them like this for over 4 years and not one problem. The only problem is we get people telling us the same thing you said. I guess you must be wrong if they look good like this, never had a problem cutting them like this and its what the customer wants and pays for.. Oh but lets all listen to you.
It is a pita to get up the tree. But once you're up in there you can use both hands to quickly clean and shape it. Can't do that on a ladder. After all done, it's faster and worth it.
I sometimes use a machete instead of my chainsaw. Sometimes it's easier than hauling a 14 lbs chainsaw ip a palm tree. Why this guy didnt use a chainsaw? Don't know. That's not me.
@@yoshimra people trim palms with ropes and ascenders. These are also dangerous if palm has bern neglected. The palm "skirts" fall and kill workers every year
Everyone has their opinion. I think it look healthy and good. Everything is still green, so that means healthy. And trimmed well, so in 6 months it'll be ready to get another trim.
