@Danny JB It aint a made up word??? According to the merriam-webster dictionary, cisgender means "of, relating to, or being a person whose gender identity corresponds with the sex the person had or was identified as having at birth" or to simplify "a person who's not trans"

@Danny JB radical leftist marxism? Cisgender origins in the Latin prefix cis-, meaning "on this side of", which means the opposite of trans-, meaning "across from" or "on the other side of". Take off your foil hat and realize that not everything is an ideological propaganda perpetuated by the left. Cisgender is the technical term for "not trans" thats IT there is no supposed "useful weapon to control language" also, nobody is buying it?? Buying what? A word that is recognized by both the oxford and the merriam-webster dictionaries? Most people say that they are cis when they say they are not trans. If the word "cisgender" is a "useful weapon to police and control language" then the term "salty foods" is aswell. I get where you are coming from, tumblr sjws have invented ridiculous terms like "rabiesexual" or "terragender", but unlike those terms, cisgender is a recognized term that is used both in chemesty and gender studies

I completely get where you're coming from; I do agree that Gia's phrasing (and timing) wasn't the best....but one should also (realistically) consider the fact that this is a platform/forum that's open to the general global population, if Gia hadn't asked what she did (though in a not so glam way) someone else would've asked in the filthiest, most degrading and derogatory way possible, and had Gia not shifted the flow of the conversation in said direction, we might've missed some key points along the way......I am deeply hurt and appalled by the way Jiggly was treated and I'm really proud of Pepp cushioning the blow and making the situation more comfortable and less awkward for Jiggly and the others, BUT Gia saw an opportunity to address some points and cover ground and that's what she did, just saying..........

As a gay man I feel that trans rights are the absolute most important because it is the epitome of equality. It is an intersection of LGBT rights, racial equality, and feminism (the equality of sexes). It is what will be reached when everyone is able to desexualize each other and their circumstance. Seeing beyond appearance to only visualize who anyone is at heart, what they stand for, and who they are as a human being.

I think the reason why some men and women are so terrified by transwomen is because by perusing this part if their identity these women have given up their male privilege. They've abandoned a position of power to be themselves and that takes such incredible courage. I am a ciswomen and it can be so hard and I cannot image how much harder it is to be a transwomen. It is so terrifying for these people to see someone so brave that they have to do whatever it "correct" the situation. And don't forget that women can just as brutal as men. As for prostitution if you research it part of the reason it became illegal was to take away power from women and lgbtq people who could make a lot of money from it and have a lot of influence because of it. Just like with weed it was a deliberate move to restrict and persecute minorities. If porn is legal then prostitution should be too and at least that way the workers would be protected by law and they could get a trade union and everything. And instead of blaming the survivors we need to blame the persecutors who think that they have the right to rape and murder people. Instead of adding more bullsh*t to the dresscode they can sit everyone down and teach them what respect is.

Yes you bring some good points. The society is so misogynistic, if a someone who is perceived like a man by it and take some feminine attitude, it will be considered like a disgrace, a shame. Make up, dresses etc have the same connotation: weak, superficial. Weak and superficial is the way women are portrayed. Anyway, I also think that the irrational hate against trans women, and of course, trans men has some other reasons. We are conditioned to believe that penis = male, vagina = female. From there, the whole human society has been constructed, with codes, hierarchy, destinies. Trans people confronts this idea and challenge that society. The fight to recognition, respect and rights is not easy but I have hope that someday, we're going to know an other world where gender wouldn't be such an issue

This is great, but Gia's comment to Jiggly about taking some responsibility for her being attacked is problematic in itself. Jiggly being taken advantage of was not her fault and did not deserve to have that experience. Just because you are a sex worker, does not mean that you deserve to be raped or that you asked for it somehow. That comment was uncalled for and shows Gia to be a slightly judgemental & ignorant. Thank goodness Peppermint jumped in and defended her with words of wisdom and understanding.
@nadjie13
@nadjie13 5 лет назад
Evie St absolutely agree. Way to put jiggly on the defensive yet again for what happened to her. The issue was not about jiggly “taking responsibility” for being a sex worker. Her question stole from the main point which is that transwomen are unable to get help from the very people and institutions that are supposed to provide help/assistance/resources to all people, regardless of gender. Gia asking that “honest question” was such a low point of this video and makes me question how woke she really is.
@christmastiger
@christmastiger 5 лет назад
Yeah, I have to agree that comment by Gia was kind of uncalled for, I'm so glad Peppermint came in to defend her because clearly Jiggly was going through a rough time and had to do what was necessary to provide for her and her brother, and sex worker or not no one ever deserves to be raped, ever. I am so proud of Jiggly for sharing that story and hope she knows it will help others who are in similar situations to know someone shares their struggles.

With the rise of so many notable trans women (Laverne Cox, Jenner, Drag Race girls, and many others) I can't help but wonder where the trans male representation in media is. Obviously this episode is specific to trans women but in the media in general. I've seen a number of shows with a trans female character or actor, but never a trans male. Is it because there are way more trans women than trans men? Is it because there is more social stigma attached to being a trans woman than trans man? Just trying to understand. Great episode!

Wowpresents should make a new series with these girls and them talking about topics like this... instead of seeing Kimora basically talk about how she doesn’t know anything 🙄

I think it’s in better hands with Billboard than what it would be with WoWpresents, I feel WoW would pick favorites only and we’d also never see Queens that have pissed them off. Also I hear WoW only pays Queens after a year idk though.

There's something so cool about Gia Gunn! I love the fact that she's multicultural. I was shocked to learn she can speak Spanish so well (The Switch). And then of course at the beginning of this video "Kawaii desuyo. Genki desuka." My native language is Spanish, and I learned Japanese for 4 years, so it's really cool seeing someone being so multicultural.

I’m so happy with the trans awareness that was provided in this episode. And I’m happy the three trans girls were all wocs too. Thank you Jiggly/Bianca for sharing your story because there are TOO many girls who share that same experience. And of course some of them are not alive to tell the story😔. We definitely need to have these conversations, not just on Billboard but bigger platforms as well.

Miss Peppermint was on Pose too! Yes, only 1 episode however, She did Amazing. I wish someone would have mentioned it tho. She's so respectful & humble, so she probably didn't want to bring it up herself. I love Pose! God Bless Ryan Murphy & all the show's Creators for including So many Ballroom & LGBTQ+ people for the roles.
