I just want to apologise for the poor sound on this video, I have been testing microphones to use in my videos and so far I haven’t found one that works. I had to send this video to be sound corrected because I didn’t want to have to refilm this because I don’t feel I’ve ever spoken this candidly about myself, my life and everything in between before and I think refilling would have lost that. So I have done my best and lots of people have worked hard to make good of this video, so I really hope you enjoy it as much as you can and Please know that I am doing my best to find a good microphone. xx

I totally get the baby question! It is rude and presumptuous, and also has such potential to be hurtful if someone is unable to have kids. We were married for 9 years before we decided to have kids, luckily I fell pregnant quickly once we decided to go ahead, but we had put up with that question for 9 bloody years! Also, once I had had my son they only start flipping asking when you're having another one! I have never asked anyone that question, and never would!

We did IVF to get our son, and I have been very open about that. So when I think about it not ONE person has asked us about baby number two. Even my mum has accepted and started saying that my son is her last grandchild 😂 Because I really don't want anymore children, I have one and thats by far enough for me.

Lydia, I must say that this was the content and the girl that drew me in years ago. I personally felt disconnected from you since the moving of houses and all of your content seemed contrived or you were just peddling another product onto us. But this video was top notch. It was real and raw and it reminded me of the time when I hit that subscribe button. I know people change as we get older, but there was something about this video that made me go “Ahh, there she is”. I hope to see more content like this in the future.

You should be praised for being so open and comfortable about not wanting children (possibly ever). Becoming a parent is not an easy choice and it is definitely not something any woman should feel forced to do or feel ashamed not wanting to. Women are much more than just potential mothers.

Lydia I saw you today at Heathrow airport!!!! It made my day 🌸but I was too shy to come up and talk to you ! I was standing there crying because I was seeing my daughter off as she is moving to America to work there for a year and my heart was breaking saying goodbye and then I turned around and saw you standing there and ended up crying my eyes out to my daughter and whispering in her ear I love you and please be careful and have a wonderful time and OMG Lydia is over there!!! lol We both ended up laughing 😂 and crying ......... i ended up waving good bye to her and then wanting to come over to you but I was still crying my eyes out...... love my baby girl and love you Lydia 💕🌸💕😍👜❤️

Lisa L i think not having biological children is the most selfless thing you can do because our earth would do so much better without so many people wandering it’s surface. Overpopulation is real, therefore it’s actually not selfish if you decide not to contribute to that problem!

Literally every single time I have a burst of motivation to be productive, you post a video! and I love your videos so much that I, obviously, have to stop whatever I'm doing and watch it right there! and I just want to say how much I appreciate your answer to the question on when you and Ali are having kids. As soon as I got married, people started asking those questions. And unbeknownst to them, I was having marital problems for the last three of the four years of being married. Because we struggled for so many years, we really needed to figure out whether or not we were going to last before bringing kids into it. My husband and I just filed for divorce. And I know people seem to think that asking when you were going to have kids is an innocent question, but they really don't understand how much it can hurt someone. We both really wanted to have kids, but we also knew that our marriage probably wasn't going to last despite three years of fighting to make it work. You never know the reason for why someone isn't having kids. especially with the amount of people out there that are struggling with infertility... I feel like we're at a point where we should just know better than to ask. So thank you so much for addressing that question as eloquently as you did. It's absolutely something that needs to be said again and again until we stop!

The baby question is the most invasive, rude question. I can’t have children, want them desperately, and have been told countless times that I my ‘eggs will dry up’ if I don’t have them soon, that I ‘don’t know what love is’ because I haven’t got children, and that I am somehow half a person without them. I never ask the question of others and agree with everything you said. Loved it.

I'm Dyslexic and ADHD! I used to write completely mirror image as a little girl, and my mom homeschooled me during the early years to teach me to write because she was worried about my success. I also do the weird letter swapping thing and skipping letters or symbols, which made math a really difficult thing. I ended up taking the highest levels of math you could take in high school, finished my bachelors with the highest honours that can be received, and am about to graduate with a masters of science next week :) If anyone out there struggles with Dyslexia, ADHD, or similar, you're going to be okay.

Omg, I'm Dyslexic too, however, my weakness is with reading and especially numbers. I always read them backwards, but in my mind I know what's the right number. However, I was excellent in math at school, lol.

mademoisellesss i really felt a couple of weird feeling while reading your comment as i saw myself back in the day. I was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia two exams before i finish my law school. I always knew i was different but didnt know why. One day while preparing my lasts exams a friend compared me to her little brother who had ADHD. My life changed as i found the answer to all the questions. I wasnt different anymore instead i see my self as special. I work as a lawyer and since that day i found out what happiness and acceptance means.
@bensiagel
@bensiagel 5 лет назад
I've never been professionally diagnosed, but I know for sure I'm dyslexic and have ADHD. It's definitely been difficult and I notice that I catch on to things a little slower, but I've always pushed through it and now I'm somehow working as a Geological Engineer. Probably a little dangerous for the company I work for (they don't know) and the public, considering all the responsibility I'm accountable for 😂😂😂 I just thought I'd spill a little tea about myself too as a fellow dyslexic! Edit: I've never told anyone about my disability, aside from my sister. The only reason she knows is because she was my math tutor; I always made mistakes when it came to reading numbers

Hi Lydia, You have inspired me so much this year. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in November last year and the last 10 months have been surgery, chemo and radiotherapy. I am in recovery now and am going back to work next week. Watching you has given me positivity, happiness and laughter (you are so funny 😂) I really enjoy watching your beauty routines and have invested in a By Terry mascara and Nars duo blush and love them. Please can you suggest an everyday lightweight foundation for work that doesn’t clog? Thank you for sharing your stories, you are so uplifting and just a classy, beautiful lady xox
@KarinaSwan
@KarinaSwan 5 лет назад
Hello, I randomly noticed your comment and I hope you don't mind if I give you an answer about foundation. I don't like heavy foundation and I have used Dior and Chanel ones. Just ask the sales person to give you the lightweight, non oily formula. it's smooth and barely felt on skin. It never clogged pores, although you still have to make sure you cleanse your skin well, because this may lead to clogged pores no matter what you use. Better yet, maybe go for bare minerals (I heard good things) or something of this sort. Their products are natural so it's lightweight and easy to remove.
@alisongcfvcgvcvcdwdssasgar6059
Karina Swan Hi Karina. Thank you so much for the advice it’s much appreciated. I like the sound of Bare Minerals, have heard of the brand but never used so will look into that. I currently use a B.B. cream which is ok but I would like something better and longer lasting. Big thanks 😘

Learning about your family background, your relationship with your mom, and even your thoughts on motherhood felt so real and authentic. Well done on the baby question. I’m 47 and people are still asking. LOL. I, like you, wasn’t sure if I wanted children and felt strange saying it out loud but sometime in my 30s I knew for sure it was not for me and luckily my husband felt the same so we opted for not. And there’s nothing wrong with that. You do you. And everyone else can mind their own damn business. ♥️

I know a woman who didn't want to have kids until she turned 53 and she had one at that time, perhaps this is why people are still asking you haha. Seriously, so rude! I'm single and people ask me that question at least once a week... together with the marriage question.

I think your story is, sadly, a very common one, so thank you for making it ok to process and take time to understand the emotions associated with realizing something of that nature happened to you and coming to terms with that.

Brilliant video Lydia. You really shine in this format. You are so authentic and I love when you just speak from the heart, not scripted just human and it’s lovely.

Thank you for sharing. I love how you owned your experiences and your recent discovery of the dyslexia diagnosis. Not once do you place blame. I love it! You are an amazing role model to women around the world. ❤️

I really appreciate you talking so openly about your relationship with your mum, my parents got divorced when I was young and I never felt there was anyone else I could look up to who had also gone through a similar thing. Forever love to your videos ❤️

I have followed you for some time now and always look forward to your videos. I love your down to earth honest approach, your sense of humour and your varied content. It’s a nice break to sit down and watch your videos and catch up with what you’re up to and I appreciate the time, thought and effort you put into them. It amazes me how critical people are - no one is forcing them to watch! Even though you are on RU-vid everyone is entitled to their privacy and no one needs to justify what they do or the choices they make in life. I can relate to the children issue. I never wanted my own and was career oriented. I found my wonderful husband late in life and he has two lovely daughters that I have a great relationship with. People need to decide what’s right for them but it can be difficult when everyone around seems to be having children. You do you and enjoy your life. You’re doing a great job!

Wow I enjoyed listening to your story time about your parents history and family. Didn’t know that you’ve had a few rough patches with your mom, I am a fairly new viewer, but I’m glad that you guys are doing better! At times I feel like you and you’re husband are also very different in the little snippets you do show us but, it seems that you both still compliment each other so well. You’re very lucky to find a good friend and coworker in Carrie. Love what you do as an entrepreneur and creator, and the quality of content that you put out!

This made me love you even more! I have been following you for so long now and I just love the person you are. It feels so nice to have someone to relate to. I´m 28 and I´m 98% sure that I don´t want kids. I´ve been with my man for 10 years and people have now finally stopped asking about kids. I have never been a big fan of kids and just to hear you say it out loud how you feel makes me came. Not everyone wants kids and that´s okay. I think that you are very brave for uploading this video. I´m happy to hear that you and your mom have a better relationship. My relationship to my mom almost looks the same. And I also wanna say that I´m so sorry for what happen to you. You are such a great role model Lydia. So brave. Sending you so much love ❤️
