This is mentioned elsewhere if you look around, but having played and enjoyed this game and noting that the ending requirements are all presently shoved behind comment chains, I'll tell you how you get all three endings. Worst ending: Run out of time at any point. Nothing will happen in terms of gameplay but you're in for a nasty surprise once you take out the Unholy Hildroid Flesh Pile at the end of the game. I have no idea how they got away with this ending in the early 90s; it is easily one of the darkest I've ever seen in an arcade game (Shadowserg cuts off the part right at the end where you hear one more gunshot). Bad ending: Don't fulfill the requirements for the worst ending, but let Waffle hit 0 HP and die at any point before the game ends. You can circumvent this issue by pumping in additional money (or hitting whatever the start button is in MAME) at any point during play; you'll automatically get a credit's worth of health added to your current total. As long as you don't ever see the continue prompt, you'll avoid this ending. Be careful as you'll be running short on time during a few stages, putting you at risk of the worst ending (don't worry too much, you WILL be cutting it close on a few bosses but it's perfectly possible to never run out of time on any stage, I've done it plenty of times)! Good ending: Don't fulfill the requirements for either of the other two endings.
There is a "Good Ending", you must destroy the bosses before time runs out & NO continues. Also, you may ruin the ending by adding credits during the game. 😫

The best way to think of the expectations, is that the Germans are testing stuff to reanimate the dead and this is the result. So you, the player must mow down all of them and save the world from its impending doom.
@@Khalfrank Judging by the ending text implying the hero was afraid he was going to run out of time to escape with his family, I guess you have to not time out the stages. Which looks easier said than done, with all the crap flying at you forcing you to dodge roll constantly.
@@OmicronX-1999 Thanks, so it's all about the time which is super ridiculous. The very fast projectile spam from the enemies makes it hard to get shots in.
Something about these weird enemies with weird abilities, getting sent to strange locations to fight them makes it almost seem like this guy is in the Gantz game

Actually there is a total of three endings: If you had to continue once: Waffle is revealed to have been infected. If you ran out of time in any stage: the ending shown here. Best ending is achieved by not letting the 2 conditions above happens: Everyone lives! Happy ending!

Nothing at all. Everything proceeds as normal and you can continue playing as if nothing happened - however, what the game doesn't tell you is that I only mean 'nothing at all' in a gameplay sense - the story locks you into the worst ending, then and there, the MOMENT your timer zeroes out.
...Okay, am I the only who noticed the fucking "Arbeit Macht Frei" sign on the gate in the area where you were fighting the Hildroid Tank?! Implying you were having the boss fight in front of LITERAL FUCKING AUSCHWITZ DEATH CAMP?! Like, who the fuck's idea was that?! Wait how did you get the worst ending? Theres 2 other endings This Game has 3 different endings but I have no Idea what determines what ending you get best has you and your family surving normal has you the player infected worst, the one here, show you killing your infected wife and child.
I feel like this game needs a short roll and a long roll, with you recovering from the short roll faster. Also, I don't believe I have ever seen a game place the cavemen enemy's after soldiers. Must of been highly trained stone throwers.
