Even if the band consisted of three real life comedians wearing wigs and costumes with a session keyboardist and session drummer, they are better than most artists who by today's standard are considered great musicians,oh I forgot write their own songs and play their own instruments, can Beyonce,Katy Perry,Britney Spears and Lady Gaga(just to name a few) say that? Of course they can't,because survey says they are told what to say,how to act,how to dress and what there gonna sing and how there gonna sing it. Because, they are manufactured entertainers, also selling an image. That's what's wrong with the music industry today.
Their musicianship has improved dramatically. And there is no problems with the pods this time. And Yin is still searching for his yang. reminds me of early sabbath at the beginning and flashbacks of Captain Beyond as well.
This is great...I don't mean it in a "hah spinal tap so funny" kind of way; these guys had clearly spent time learning their instruments and honing their craft. I am 100% blown away.
Have they archived the original cover, or the black one? [you should have seen the cover they wanted to print! .. it wasn't a glove she was supposed to sniff, I can tell you that!]
Creation now these days aint the same without the banging of a hammer against the pod , blow torch and various other tools on the pod Derek was in :) But damn i love Spinal Tap :)
Anyone know what the origin of them coming out of eggs comes from? Ozzy in 1986 inside the "Demon Ozzy" figure that was lowered down during the start of the set, where he was trapped inside?
The film was shot in 1982, but they spent a lot of time editing it. It premiered in March 1984. (I think it says 1983 in Roman numerals at the end of the film, though.)
"Smell the Glove" was 1982 ... so that can't have been origin. There's really no mystery ... David St Hubbins and Nigel Tufnel are both died-in-the-wool Christians. But they are also evolutionist scientists and visionaries. In a song like "Rock and Roll Creation", they explored themes of religion, science and evolution that had never been presented in such a way before, and never will be again. It was - literally - a song that will always stand the test of time. When anybody listens to this song in the future, they will ask the deepest of questions: "What is this? Why am I here? When will this be over?"
