It was certainty interesting to have them say things like "do people really not think this is a good game?" And then proceed to point out how jank and broken it is throughout the first level as if that made it a good game. Also them getting so excited for the running into the camera whale part, when every other reaction to that part I've ever seen calls it one of the worst segments they've ever played.

Michael Maguire that scene with the killer whale prepared me for chase scenes in other games especially the SAB2 with the huge fucking truck behind me. This game and its sequel turned me into the man i am today

That's because both Arin and Dan suck at games, and Arin is quick to blame the game, and if his opinion on games was accurate, that would mean there hasn't been a good game since the first Megaman X. And while these guys are better (but not great) at games, they can accept when a death is their fault, and know the difference between that and design jank, and also still enjoy a game even if it's not amazing.

@@MoostachedSaiyanPrince I kind-of feel weirdly bad for Dan because he's clearly enjoying things, but it's clear he's just a good guy who didn't grow up with this stuff as much and just takes things in stride. It's all Arin's attitude that people don't really like. Dan feels like he's just along for the ride. Like the Superbestfriends came to an end, but they'd never, say, go on a big crybaby meltdown spree and unlist a crapload of videos or something.

@@dracocrusher Yeah, I don't really think I've ever seen Dan actually get angry at a game, at least not that I can remember. Honestly, since he's the one who doesn't seem to go crybaby mode, I think they should let him play some games and see how that goes, because while Arins meltdowns can be entertaining, they can also be very grating, especially if it's one of the many times where he was just complaining about things that were completely his fault and blaming the game. Like in their recent Sonic Heroes LP, when he was fighting the Egg Albatross. He was complaining about how he couldn't get any rings, while there were rings out of reach on the platform over to his left, which he absolutely would've been on if he hadn't messed with the switch that changes which way the grind rails go and forced him onto a platform with enemies and no rings. I get that it's kind of stupid for the switch to do that, but at the same time, it's also very stupid to start playing around with unknown switches when you're in the middle of a very straightforward, albeit tedious, boss fight.

@@MoostachedSaiyanPrince Honestly, that just feels like setup for later situations, so it's worth learning early on that there are paths that lead to good and bad situations and you need to be aware of which way you're being lead. I wouldn't be surprised if they were meant to learn that with the Egg Hawk or whatever and Arin just didn't get it.

I saw a 'trailer' for a tutorial series the other day, and it makes making a 3D platformer look easy almost (once you understand the basics). The end result of the tutorial already looks fun, and from there you just add obstacles for the character and whatever. Maybe this is incredibly naive thing to think, but I don't think it'd be hard to make a Sonic Adventure inspired game, especially if you embrace the jank. It seems doable to me. A boy can dream !! blazen whiper I had the same experience with Skyrim and Fallout (the 3D ones). I played them at release, when they were supposed to be complete fuckfests, but the worst glitch I ever saw in any of them was a Deathclaw mysteriously launching into space.

I intentionally forced glitches for shits and giggles like Knuckles 'stuck in the past' to see if there was a speedrun tactic but it straight erases ANY trigger to the cutscene and soft locks XD

***** Sonic Adventure aged very well. Especially when you get VGA cables and play it on Dreamcast, or component with DX on Gamecube. The PS3/360 port kind of ruins it for me because of the borders.

I don't think this game holds up well at all honestly, with the other 3 mentioned being alright(not as good as Sonic 1-3 in my opinion). As for Sonic as a whole, Arin seems to have a bit of a bias to him. This didn't surprise me as Arin has shit tastes & doesn't seem that bright in my opinion.

Yeah thats why never liked Game Grumps. They are too blinded by their ideals. While i dont always agree with best friends opinions, they are still entertaining. (Plus everybody has their opinions)

adventure 2's controls have aged like fine whine, that shit is tight. adventure controls and collision however... that has aged like meat left in the sunlight for 20 years but both have great design overall.

They're super slippery and almost as bad as Adventure 1.
