This video intends to educate general public about the general questions they may have about spine surgery. This is not a consult or opinion, use it for informational and educational purpose only. Very good information Docter.tnq so much. எனக்கு இடுப்பிலிருந்து கால் வரை கடுமையான வலி இருந்தது.கழத்திலும் அடிக்கடி வலி வந்தது. நான் பக்கத்தில் இருந்த மருத்துவமனையில் எலும்பு மருத்துவரைப் பார்த்தேன் அவர் ஒரு வாரத்திற்கு பெயின் கில்லர் கொடுத்து ஒரு வாரம் கழித்து வர சொன்னார். எனக்கு வலி குறையவில்லை.மறுபடியும் போனதற்கு MRI எடுக்க சொன்னார் கள். அதில் L3 L5.c3c4disk prolopse என்று ரிப்போர்ட் வந்தது. பிறகு Neck& Spine surgeon பார்க்க சொன்னார் கள்.அவர் கழுத்தில் உடனடியாக அறுவை சிகிச்சையும் பிறகு முதுகிலும் ஆபரேஷன் பன்ன வேண்டும் என்று கூறினார். நான் 2 nd opinion வேறு மருத்துவரைப் பார்தேன்.அவர் இதற்கெல்லாம் சர்ஜரி வேண்டாம்.Phisiotherephy பன்னாலே போதும். கால்கள் செயலிழந்தாலோ அல்லது விபத்து நடந்து முதுகுத் தண்டுவடம் பாதிக்கப்பட்டால் தான் சர்ஜரி பன்ன வேண்டும்.இதற்கு ப்ராபர் எக்சசைஸ் போதும் என்றார். நான் கடந்த சில நாட்களாக ஏக்சசைஸ் பன்றேன் வலி மிகவும் குறைந்து விட்டது. எதற்காக இந்த பதிவு என்றால் என்னைப் போல் சில பேர் இந்த வலியும் பயத்துடன் இருப்பார்கள் அவர்களுக்காகப் தான்.எல்லாம் வல்ல இறைவன் அனைவருக்கும் நோயற்ற வாழ்வைக் கொடுக்கவேண்டும்.

Hello sir, I am 23yrs old (male), Enaku L4 L5 disc bulge aagirku. MRI scan eduthapo doctor operation panatha seriaagunu sonaru. Report la spinal canal diameter in L4 L5 is 4.6mm. disc nerves aa touch pandrathala left leg la pain irku. Romba nadantha and 20mins mela okarntha pain irku. Within 1hr rest edtha recover aaidum. Mathapadi maramarapu, morning bed la irnthu elurapa pain edum ila. But surgery pana future la gym, heavy work(Mechanical worker) ethum pana mudiyatha sir. Intha condition ku surgery avasiya ma sir. Already 1.5months bed rest la irukre...no big improvement. Please suggest the best sir.

Hi doctor, I'm 23 and I have L5 S1 level sciatica running down my left leg. I have been having it for last two years. I have tried conservative approaches but the pain has not gone yet. Since last two months pain has kinda aggravated. I'm unable to do any exercises because of that. I visited top surgeons in my city and they suggested microdiscectomy. I'm a bit perplexed because my left leg hasn't lost strength and my pain is on and off. This pain has taken a toll on my mental strength and opportunities. I want to get a surgery done because I have goals but I'm worried if I'm taking this too early. Please suggest!!

Hello Preethi, I can sense your point of view about the surgery with respect to your age. However, Its quiet simple to answer your question. This is what I say to my patients all the time. If you can't have a quality life, it does not matter how long you live, there is no point in waiting for somethings to get done, if you can have a quality life. Surgery is the last resort, but, if you had tried all conservative measures and unable to live a quality life, if surgery is the last option, you must go for it, but find a good one who can do it well. Once its done its done, so before doing find one who has done so many of them in a good way. Remember, Doing bad 1000 surgeries is not equivalent to doing 10 good successful surgeries All the best Sheriff

Explained very well 👏 👌 got more clarity I am glad you have some clarity now!!! my mri report shows severe damage in right side but I had more pain in left I can't walk infact now I don't have pain in back but severe pain in left side(fully) I don't know the reason MRI is just a guidance, it helps to see any serious issues such as cancer, neural compromise, infection etc and an picture to plan surgeon what surgery to do before cutting!!! but however, MRI is not perfect, sometimes you can pain on Ledt and it can show problems on the Right thank you sir you are sharing the knowledge and educating us God bless you Thank you!!! spread the channel

Brother, I met an accident ( T11, T12, L1, L2) injury and undergone spine surgery. My lower limbs not functioning(paraplegia). I took physiotherapy. Together I took also varma treatment. Some varma doctors say if surgery done it is very difficult to treat. it was a very difficult situation as surgery is already done. But your video was a relief to me. Today I saw your video clips... Two years before I took MRI for cervical and whole spine scan... In that result there's mild kyphosis in cervical and also haemangiolipoma in l1 and l4 and also neural compression and disc bulges..... if you're see my comment pls, guide me for my health., thank you....

Good explanation nice facts but you have sounded indirectly that people with radiating pain and sensory symptoms are indicated for discectomy, which is definitely not a fact. I've personally treated such patients successfully with manual therapy.I'm sure even you would have done the same . You could have been more assertive about the curative effect of physical therapy in disc lesions. May be you can consider posting another video by emphasizing that even severe disc lesions would respond to physical therapy interventions. Thanks and continue your great work

Good day sir. I am Jayasree 53 years old. I have disc problem for past 3 years. Now I have low back pain and I am not able to stand or walk for more than 5 minutes. My feet legs become numb. If I sit for 2 mts and then can stand and work for another 5 mts. Often I get muscle spasm. I went to Ortho took physiotherapist and he advised me to see neurologist . He asked me take MRI and suggested to do surgery and refer surgeon for this. My MRI report is Broad based diffuse disc bulge at L5/ S1 level ventrally indenting the thecal sac with bilateral moderate lateral recess effacement and neural foraminal compression indenting the exiting and traversing nerve roots. Disc disseccation in form of loss of water content and T 2 hypo intensity is noted. Ligamentum flavum hypertrophy bilateral face talks arthropathy is noted. Please advice Dr.

Hello Visa Lakshi, Thank you for your lovely comments. Please share the knowledge to your family and friends if you find them useful. Now, coming to your question. Numbness in the big toe alone suggestive of L4 Radiculopathy - In common man terms, nerve going to the big toe is damaged, which could be due to multiple reasons, mechanical spinal issues (such as disc issues, arthropathy, ligamentous hypertrophy) or chemical issues such as decreased B12, diabetes etc., Not to get scared about it. Mr. Guna, realistically, sciatica pain is not that common. pain radiating from butt to R leg meaning peripheralization (sciatica is one of the reason for peripheralization). If sciatica is true, you will see neural compression in the intervertebral foramen in MRI and also the pain will unbearable to an extent you will ask the surgeon to do surgery right away!!! Pain won't increase nor decrease it will 10/10 all the time, can't sleep, pt wills cry!!! So in your case I dont this is the case. You need to first work on the right type of exercises, if it fails, then surgery can come into play!!! type of surgery depends on your problem!!! each one is unique and different Thanks Sheriff

Steroids is helpful especially if you have inflammation. Otherwise it is not helpful. Injections are temporary relief only they are NOT cure! Kindly tell me how for injection will help and how long the patient will be free from pain after injection and these are v important aspects. Injections reduce inflammation in the spinal nerves which causes a temporary decompression effect, which its helpful It varies person to person! some people get relief for a month, some people 6 months, some people get 3 months, some people one day, some people get no relief and some people get increased pain Kindly elobrate injection in spine for disc problems and is it necessary to take injection every six month and what is the cost of injection. Its not advisable to everyone. For some it is helpful temporarily, during that time people can do exercises and make the spine muscles stronger it necessary to take injection every six month and what is the cost of injection. Many have these doubts. Pls inform all about injection procedure. Usually patients take once a month or once a week here in USA. Cost varies country to country, I am not sure about India, In USA, it is 1000 dollars (equivalent to 75000 INR) in India it will be cheaper I hope this helps Thanks Sheriff

Sir, I have been suffering for the past 3 years.. My age is 28 & unmarried.. I have a cervical and lumbar region problem..I took mri 3 yrs back... Now pain increased and radiated to both legs and hands. Should I take MRI again? But my pain is shifting one day in my right leg ..one day will b in left.. Same for the hand also.. Kindly suggest me sir..

Moving pain between side to side is not uncommon in spinal stenosis. I dont recommend taking an MRI again. I would suggest you to eat healthy, exercise and follow a good life style change gradually.
