I made the biggest mistake of my life last August to see neurosurgeon Ara Deukmedjian at the Deukspine Institute in Melbourne Florida to have a Deuk Laser Disc Repair at left C5-C6, C6-C7 plus bilateral C5-T1 rhizotomies. I woke up from surgery with a dropped head, burned, inflamed paraspinal muscles, extreme stiffness of the neck, big lumps around C6-C7 at the back of my neck, and awful pain worse than before the procedure. Over the last 8 months my issues have got worse with more pain than ever. The discs that were treated were already thin to begin with and the neurosurgeon broke a surgical tube inside ny neck. I saw a dictor in the video that was hammering this dilator between the vertebrae of my neck with quite a bit of force. This cost me $77 US. On my return to Aus the new MRI demonstrated inflammation of the paraspinal neck muscles, edema, hematoma of left C6-C7, C6, C7 compression and foraminal stenosis. I wish that i never got laser surgery. I have been paying a very high pain price

You should watch Ara J. Deukmedjian, MD perform the Deuk Laser Disc Repair. Plus he cleans the annular tear to promote healing. He uses the laser for entire surgery until he uses grabbers to grab disc material. It would be interesting seeing you speaking with him on video. Safest surgery for disc problems. He broadcasts every surgery he performs.

There are laser procedures on RU-vid with the surgeon talking through the process. It looked very safe to me. I had ACDF C3,4 and 5 five years ago so I have some experince. The post-recovery was very tough. Right now, I am exploring laser to take care of a pinched nerve on C6/7 because of its minimal invasiveness.

@jbonetns 8 месяцев назад
yes i went through with the surgery for c5c6 c6c7 and the procedure went well ,its been 3 months since n no pain killers after . also had the rhizotomy on right side c5-c7 . no bone removed . most if not all the centralized disc pain i was having is gone . only problem im dealing with now is dystonic tremors in neck and hands which is a separate issue that was present before the surgery and seeking botox or possibly prolotherapy to treat those symptoms at the moment .no hand numbness anymore. also i have thoracic and lower back ventral chord compression from years of abusing my body playing high level tennis so will be addressing those issues as well . the only issue with deuk spine is the cost up front, and not having some kind of payment plan , and good chance that your insurance wont pay you back or cover it because its deemed as an experimental procedure . meanwhile theyll cover procedures that dont actually work from surgeons that will cut you up in a heartbeat and put metal or artificial discs in you so they get their kickbacks from those companies . thats a fact . also notice that the guys talking in this video wouldnt dare to respond back because they know its the truth . think about how f****d up someone has to be to do that to you knowing its not most likely not going to fix the problem . you should see the looks on the faces and pessimism of my doctors here in ny when i even mention laser to them . i was getting billed even for phone calls to some of my docs here dragging their ass and providing no solutions or prospects but still the smugness in their voice . its a joke . just like trying to find an honest mechanic or worse lol

@@jbonetns The red flag for this "chat" is neither man addressed the elephant in the room: the high rate of FBSS (Failed Back Surgery Syndrome) as a consequence of open back surgery. It can approach 40%--or higher. Not addressing that issue was skimming the bottom of the deck.

I had the Deuk Laser treatment for my spine, L4 L5 & S1 a month ago for torn and herniated disks. Let me tell you, it was the very best decision that I could have made. I have to take it easy for now, and sure, time will tell, but all of my back pain that I've had is gone. What more could someone who has suffered for years night and day want than to be released from pain. Deuk laser is the way to go, in my book.

@bruceweis2235
@bruceweis2235 2 года назад
Dr. Shim, I appreciate your videos. I am going through a disc herniation now and it has taken some time, but I think I am on the healing path now and your videos gave me confidence that it is possible to heal from a herniation. I heard about laser, as I have researched a microdiscectomy in case i just can't ever heal and didn't understand the advantage of a laser or disadvantage, this discussion gave me some clarity. Mr. Mazza didn't seem happy at the very end, he mumbled something under his breath, but you can see his lips mouth it. It seemed he agreed with you and wasn't promoting laser surgery, but maybe there was some disagreement that I couldn't pick up on or understand, which makes me feel I must be missing something in the discussion, even though I listened to it a few times. I only ask because I like to get all sides of an argument for my own knowledge going forward.

JASON MAZZA - DIRECTOR OF SPINE CARE for SHIM but not a doctor! he says there were few studies that exist but says it doesn't work? It does have a lower risk of infection! I bet they said the same thing about laser eye surgery back in the day too! Maybe that is why back surgeries still suck so bad. you would think in 2022 they would have come up with something better to diagnose where the back pain is really coming from and how to fix it. It's funny too, if you play professional sports they fix your back.. ala Tiger Woods,,, if you are jane the housewife or some garbage collector guess what your disc might heal itself just wait.

these are the guys that you want to run from , the reason they are talking poorly about the laser is because they are not capable of using them correctly , ive met plenty of surgeons like this , smug as can be , its very simple , they make less money just using a laser and grabber to remove herniation , they want to sell you on fusion and artificial discs because their bank account gets bigger from kickbacks from the artificial disc companies and metal cages and screws they want to put in you . period ! why would you want bone removed if you dont need it . or screws and a cage which will surely lead to adjacent segment disease and weakening of the structure . also the recovery time will be long after all the muscle disruption from them opening you up . the only exception would be fractures which requires fusion for stability . dont take my word for it , do your research , doctors like this guy only like the sound of their own voice .

You are asking for specific recommendations. Unfortunately, I can only speak in generalities. Your profile picture suggests an adult. In that case, your results do not seem too alarming. Please speak to your doctor who ordered the tests. By the description, it does not seem to be surgical problem, but a trained spine specialist should examine you and look at your studies before offering a definitive option.
