Helluva Boss is an animated web series created, directed, written and produced by Vivienne Medrano. Set in the same universe as Hazbin Hotel, also created by Medrano, the series, however, includes a different cast of characters and a different storyline. As described by Medrano, while both series share the same setting relationship, Hazbin Hotel is based on redemption and consequences, instead Helluva Boss follows "characters and society that already exist in Hell" and is on the relationship between these characters. The pilot episode was released on November 25, 2019, while the first episode of the first season, produced by SpindleHorse Toons, was released on October 31, 2020.The first season was released on Medrano's RU-vid channel as per its other animations.
