With all due respect, Donna Summer wasn't that thick. And the movie seems to have a bit of a low budget vibe. I grew up with all this music. And I think it could have been done on a grander platform.

I watched this recently on Netflix and actually enjoyed it. I don't usually like music bios without the actual musicians but this was an exception. Jeremy Jordan did an amazing job as Neil Bogart ... then entire cast was excellent as well. Jeremy should definitely have a much bigger career with his awesome voice and acting. Have seen him in a few different roles but this time he really did shine. Please come to the UK 🇬🇧

Yeah, except for the fact that Gladys Knight & The Pips, Bill Withers, and others depicted in the movie were NOT with Casablanca Records. The film borrowed heavily from Neil's Buddah days.

I'm interested in watching this movie but I have to point out - It was not Neil Bogart or Gladys Knight that changed the chorus of from Midnight Plane to Houston to "Midnight Train to Ga," it was a producer named Sonny Limbo (in Atlanta) who was recording Cissy Houston on the song.

I'd watch this movie for PFunk, Bill Withers, and KISS. Other then that, most people will agree that the roll of Donna Summers should have been played by Kelly Rowland. No diss to Taylor Parx, but Kelly has more of Donna's look, vocal range, and mannerisms. Taylor simply doesn't resemble Ms. Donna Summers, no matter how much makeup, wigs and dresses you put on it. Hollywood is a hell of a agenda running social club.

People unfortunately are going to jump all over the casting. My pet peeve Bill Withers cone on and Donna Summer nothing against the performers. the casting director should be tared and feathered. Always start with the look then work on the sound. It's going to turn into a movie you rag on

I finally saw this movie. I wanted to see it because I adore Donna Summer. The movie is full of very likeable characters and incredible scenes. I enjoyed it in spite of the fact, that like many a bio pic, it suffered from a lack of character arcs. There is a great deal of sugar coating, exaggerations, and suspicious events. Frankly, all bio pics require it. The nature of reality makes it impossible for any kind of lasting resolution or any meaningful epiphany. The problem with bio pics. I liked the delivery of the film and could've worked better. Obviously, if it revolved around Donna Summer and her rise to fame. In the spirit of touched upon theme, "chasing your dream" but it never developed into anything. It just required some character and plot development. KIss would've also been great. A scene presented the theme "self-discovery through hardship". I feel like "love of music is food for the soul" should've been the natural conclusion. I did enjoy it but it could've been a great movie.

I just heard about this movie today. KISS? Yeah. I’ll watch this. 🤙🏼 Edit: Well….the characters could have been better cast. Gene’s voice was way too high. Absolutely no bass in his voice. Too pretty boy. Paul looked….off. Gene was prettier than Paul. 😂 Donna Summer was a little heavier than I remember…. Overall a pretty good movie.
