Rexes are dumb. Spino can kill, swim, climb on diagonal cliffs, it's really fast(one of the Fastest), only few creatures can outrun spino like galimimus. It's faster than giga, raptor, direwolf, sabertooth, and can kill alphas with ease. Then why the hell a Rex and not a multi-talented Spino.

Spinosaurus was way too weak before. However, I do think that tyrannosaurus rex would win because it was bulkier and spinosaurus had so many obvious vulnerabilities such as its long pelican-like neck and sail. However, I think that the battle would be closer to 50-50 than stated in the video. While it is way more likely that tyrannosaurus rex would win the immediate battle, spinosaurus could quite possibly inflict deep enough wounds that tyrannosaurus rex could die from bloodloss or broken bones just days or weeks afterwards under certain circumstances. However, spinosaurus fans need to face facts: spinosaurus *was not stronger than tyrannosaurus rex* and the spinosaurus in Jurassic Park 3 was stated in the movie to be genetically mutated so it was more powerful, even powerful enough to take down a tyrannosaurus rex with a struggle. But, tyrannosaurus rex fans also need to face facts *tyrannosaurus rex was not the killer seen in the Jurassic Park films* and was not the most powerful dinosaur or even carnivore on Earth, not even during its own time. A couple flaws I noticed in this video are the intelligence and battle experience factors for both of the dinosaurs. The truth of the matter is that we really have no idea how smart the dinosaurs were. The best we can do is determine whether it was a hunter, scavenger, or gatherer based on teeth and eye position in the skull. We also really have no idea how much experience in fighting both dinosaurs would have had. While tyrannosaurus rex was a carnivore, it could have just as easily as scavenged as hunted. Plus, tyrannosaurus rexes had gigantic hunting grounds, meaning it would have been unlikely for them to fight over food. Spinosaurus also ate mostly fish, which is why the conclusion it had less experience in combat was drawn, but it also faced challenges from dinosaurs like carcharodontosaurus and other creatures like sarcosuchus. The amount of battle experience is largely dependant on the environment and age of the two dinosaurs, which are two things that cannot be ignored in a video like this. Spinosaurus also doesn't gain much of an advantage in the water, if it would even be capable of getting tyrannosaurus in the water. Tyrannosaurus could evidently be a strong swimmer because of the strength of its legs and spinosaurus didn't magically become a mosasaurus in the water, it wasn't THAT mobile or agile: tyrannosaurus rex could still easily attack with its large jaws and thick skull to inflict an injury just as painful as it would be on land. The only new ability spinosaurus gains from being in the water is the ability to swim away by heading to deeper water, which isn't really an option unless in a very large river or lake. But then again, this is ARK so scientific facts and real life don't apply.

In my humble opinion, the Spino should gradually lose Stamina when it walks, bipedally. For one, it looks too top-heavy to be able to do this, indefinitely, so maybe the Spino can be deadlier than a T-Rex, but only in very short bursts, so as not to take the Rex's primarily role of all-out assault away from it. Secondly, it gives the quadrupedal stance more viability, allowing it to travel faster and for far longer in this state (bipedal=combat mode while quadrupedal=travel). In all honestly, I kinda preferred the older version of Spino because it was a good in-between for the Rex and aquatic tames because it was just tanky enough to feel powerful, in its own right, and amphibious enough to make it a viable traveling dino but did not overmatch either Rexes or water tames in their respective elements (not as Tanky as a Rex nor as maneuverable as water-based tames), allowing the latter two to still be viable in the game. Plus, I kinda miss the Spino's more pebbled skin, its weightier movement and its doggo-like run. As it stands, right now, the Spino's bipedal stance plus its water buff pretty much make the Rex completely obsolete and the latter's dinky roar ability seems like small compensation in comparison. Maybe if the Rex had a special buff against armor or stone structures, that might make it a little more fair.

Ok.. although it did seem a bit unfair because of the rex’s roar and so maybe in the first round of it weren’t for the roar the rex may have won, I’d still classify the spino as the all round better dino of the two, it has a passive “hydration” when in contact with water I believe it boosts health regen, speed and attack? don’t hate me if I’m wrong but that’s what I can recall. Added it has a hinds legs stance and the sound of it when it’s chasing you with his rubber feet noise is amusing if you’d ask me and overall love the design. So I’d happily place the spinosaurus above the t-Rex

In literally EVERY single instance, the rex was STILL roaring while the spino got in at least 3 free hits. Very advantageous. Rewatch the video if you think I'm wrong. I'm going to chalk this up to a tie. If the rex could instantly attack just like the spino, it's very possible that either rex would win, OR they would end up killing each other at the same time. Spino may attack faster, but it also does less base damage than the rex does, while the rex attacks much slower (probably around 2:1), but does more damage. Regardless both dinos are amazing in their own right, however I'm going to side with the rex win or lose because it's been my favorite since I was a kid =p

I love both dinos but the trex had just to much strength on its side and a height advantage. Its bite force is just incredible. But if the spino was actually capable of walking on its hind legs, then its claws would definitely be useful.

It's like Jurassic Park 3 all over again.

That roar does the Rex in during NPC fights. It's technically stronger since it does the same DPS as a Spino in biped (No water boost), but it has more health. This is however a perfectly fine case as the Spino is a very strong and mobile battle mount. It's biped turn radius is about as good as it can get so Spinos can't be flanked so easily. Personally I like the Spino more both in Ark and as a dino in general. I think these two are finally in good match. Spino is DPS and Rex is balanced with HP. Very nice TLC updates to both these guys. ^^ The Spino also lives up to it's difficulty to obtain as well. I never understood why it was so weak compared to the Rex yet so much harder to tame. The Spino is a lot of fun to use. I love running around on mine just to admire the world and battle some creatures.

Tyrannosaurus: 12-14 metres long, 8-10 tonnes, 5-6 metres tall Spinosaurus: 15-18 metres long, 6-12 tonnes, 3-5 metres tall (confirmed in 2014) Tyrannosaurus advantages: had a far superior and stronger bite force, stronger brain cells (better coordination), more muscular (higher pain tolerance), hunted the two of the most dangerous herbivores of the Cretacous, eye sight was sharper with stronger corneas and irises. Tyrannosaurus disadvantages: had smaller arms (may be useless in a fight), cannot swim as good as Spinosaurus. Spinosaurus advantages: had significantly larger arms for slashing, an excellent swimmer. Spinosaurus disadvantages: physically lightly built, very weak bite force, sail is vulnerable, shorter than the Tyrannosaurus, long neck is extremely vulnerable. Was a fish eater and hunter, rarely hunting other dinosaurs (according to palaeontologist Robbert Bakker). Verdict: Tyrannosaurus 80% chance of winning. Spinosaurus 20% chance of winning Reasons: the Spinosaurus' lightly built structure is literally a HUGE let down, making it physically weaker. The Spinosaurus cannot use its arms properly due to its awkward design. The Spinosaurus is "part" Quadruped (confirmed in 2016). The Spino may have the advantage in water but we are talking about a Land-based fights. TELL ME HOW THE SPINO COULD POSSIBLY WIN WITHOUT USING WATER AS YOUR ANSWER!!! AND ALSO, THE SPINOSAURUS IN JP3 IS A HYBRID AND THE TREX IT WAS FIGHTING WAS ONLY A SUB-ADULT!!! EVEN JACK HORNER, THE PALAEONTOLOGIST WHO SUPERVISED JP3 ADMITTED THAT HE SHOULD NEVER HAVE MADE THE SPINOSAURUS DEFEAT THE T-REX!!! (His reason: because it ate fish...)
