Want to sink putts like the McBeast? Check out this video with 2012 Disc Golf World Champion Paul McBeth showcasing his putting style. thespintv.com / thespintv / thespintvcom Innova Discs Producer: Esa Arokki
This helped my putting from a greater distance. Before I wasn't really getting my stance right, but now I make most of those longer distance putts when it's calm outside.
Thanks for your helpful feedback. We're definitely thinking about the possibility of making an advanced set of videos in the future. These videos are targeted at less experienced players for a couple reasons, but we realize players with more experience need high quality videos too! All in all this is an ongoing experiment, and we hope to build all the content our fans are asking for eventually. Thanks for watching. :)
The one thing that we can all take away from this is the confidence in his putts. All the technique in the world won't help if you wimp out mentally at the last second and don't "finish" your putt. You know what I mean, your arm is halfway through the motion and your'e already thinking it won;t go in so you tweak your arm or flick your wrist.... no no. See it going in. That confidence is a big factor in keeping your motion consistent. FWIW. He does not put his thumb opposite his middle finger on the flight plate.
FWIW 7 years later: the middle finger and thumb are not on top of each other, but they create a firm pinch on the disc. The rest of the hand/fingers hold the disc in place. That's what I feel when I putt.
I don't get all the hate on this video. It clearly says Tips in the title. Not complete instructional video, step by step, for people who have no idea how to putt. Putting is very personal. Just do it and see what works for you.
This putting style not only won me three European Championships, but also fills my tax reports, walks the dog and washes my car on sunday mornings. Thanks Paul! ❤
Neat experiment, neat video. McBeth needs someone to work with him on his camera presence. He's a superstar, someone has to coach him on how to be one in front of the camera as well as on the course. It'll make him and his sponsors more money in the long run. :P
He more or less does the same thing as what I am doing. I just need to go out more and train every day to make those 40/50 footers constantly. Thx for the vid!
Dylan Spangenberg Fitness TV A general concensus is 175gr (incorrectly referred to as "max weight"). The heavier the disc, the less wind will affect its flight...and a little too much or too little force will have less of an affect on a heavier disc, giving you a wider margin of error. Lighter discs are generally for long distance throws because the lighter weight makes it easier to throw a bit faster and therefore a bit further.
Love the McPro Aviar! Thanks for the vid guys! Ya'll Rock!! If you could only do another concerning form when driving backhand to get more consistent release and better distance you would be the best world champ ever! Keep up the awesome Playing Paul, loved the composure and finish at the Masters Cup. So much fun to watch!
So the tip is to make 50 foot putts when there is no wind? Really? This doesn't even showcase his style like the video description says it does. He uses the same putting technique as most disc golfers. He just explained that he uses a putter with no bead (not uncommon) and his grip is pretty basic too.
Absolutely no detail in this video. What I want in this video would be somewhere in the 5-10 min range where he actually gets to go through his thoughts and processes in putts (up hill, down hill, flat, head wind, tail wind, cross wind, what makes him want to play safe compared to go for it, etc..) This video was just to show the signature series disc he has and show he makes 50 footers. as if it wasnt something a good number of people do. pointless video. C'mon SpinTV you're better than that
watch him put during a pro tour and then analyze what he does, his attitude toward making those 50 feet uphills seems effortless like I am going to do it and its gonna go in.
I hear what you are saying but you have to realize how much money goes into these video. This video is so high quality that it takes a ton of money to make something as detailed as you want. Go watch this /watch?v=N_7RPOmSSsU, its what you are looking for but you will notice the horrible video quality, that's just how it goes man.
