using a fork as an anchor is a really good tip for using a Julienne peeler (which is the only thing I own that's remotely close to a spiralizer), thanks for the idea :D
So helpful, thank you! I am in NZ and was having trouble deciding which to order. I have ordered the Paderno countertop one from Amazon - can't wait for it to arrive!
I have a spiralizer similar to the paderno called veggetti pro, I got it on clearance for $9!!! I love it! I used the slicing blade and tried it on some Bell peppers, I will never use a knife to cut peppers again. it literally took minutes to cut up 3 peppers very thin, granted they were each one continuous piece but then I could cut to the length I wanted!
I bought a different brand of spiralizer, because that was the only large one I saw in a store that I trusted. It, like a previous commenter said, LOOKED like the Paderno, but it was difficult to keep the zucchini on. I just bought it last week, so maybe it was because I was new at it. If it doesn't work better this time, I will take it back and get a refund and try to buy a better quality product. The concept is great, and I'd really like to have one of these. Thanks for the demo!
Wonderful video! Thanks so much for all of the comparisons. I've been making zucchini strands on a mandolin slicer and it was a pain because I about 4 at a time. It was time-consuming and my knuckles were in danger! I think I'm going to make the leap for the Paderno.
I've been shopping for a spiralizer and was just the comparison I needed! Thanks so much! Quick question: Have you ever used your Paderno on a sweet potato? They're a little more dense than zucchini and I'm curious to know how well it performs. We bought another brand that looked like the Paderno - though the plastic felt a little flimsy - and the handle broke when using it on the sweet potato! Wondering if that was just a bad knockoff or if the design of that type of spiralizer just can't handle it...
fantastic - really helpful video . I have 1 of the cheaper handheld type that I love . But I find it difficult to use with my arthritic thumbs , so deciding to get the NZ equivlent of the paderno type. Thanks
Thanks Caroline! The only problem is it's super $$. I finally ordered a Spiralizer and it came today! After I've used it a few times I'll post about my wrist. I bought one for a friend and I expect her to get way more use out of it b/c she has two grandkids who will love it. She has arthritis in her hands so I'll comment about that too. Ahh, the joys of old age!
I have the paderno one and the first time or two that I used it I loved it, but I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I'm not getting long spirals anymore... just small c shaped cuts.... well half those and half spirals. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Most of the spiralizers are made in China. Before you purchase one, see what www.wish.com has in their inventory. You may find the spiralizer you want for half the price. Don't look for name brands however. Its all pretty much generic brand wise for the same thing.
Thanks this was informative vs a youtube where a person talked for 3 minutes and it felt like 3 hours. You give us an affordable option and all around great presentation. Thank you..... Please google dr fagelman assault and watch his attack receptionist punch me. Since they lied and blame me please help go viral
