This video was taken as reference footage during one of many motion capture sessions for the Guitar Hero drummer at Neversoft during development of Guitar Hero 5 on March 11, 2009.
In the event of Neil's death I remembered this video existed on an old hard drive and I was lucky to find it.

Things to note:
* I did not know this song existed until a few days prior to this recording when I notetracked the drum part. I am winging it for a lot of the parts.
* There's a projector playing with the drum note chart on a wall in front of me, so it serves as a nice little cheat sheet, but i have to make a point to not look at it too much or else the player will see a drummer looking straight ahead at nothing in-game.
* Accuracy is not what animators and the general public are looking for. They want exaggerated, big, eye-catching movement.
* Spinning sticks and doing stick tricks is almost impossible with the balls on my hands. That's why I just wiggle my hands sometimes so the animators can put in stick tricks afterwards.
* Me throwing up the stick and missing the catch was fixed in post production in-game.
* The kick drum and tom setup and their positioning & angles was specific to the drumkit in game.
* The kit was sprayed with non reflective spray, so the cameras wouldn't pick up reflections from the cymbals, wood, or hardware
* Playing drums in spandex is exhausting
