Awesome preset! Love it! The fact that it blends very well with several of the other core library instruments is just the cherry on top. Also extremely helpful in developing own mixing skills. Thank you very much. 🙏🏼
Really well done, used the processing capabilities of SD3 to its full advantage. Great job! Btw. refereing to your description: The underlying drum kit (Avatar kit from Superior) as well as the used one shots are not that much of a secret, since Daniel Braunstein mixed Holy Roller live at URM Academy some time ago. Can recommend!
Hey man thanks for the comment! I‘m glad you like the sound of this kit :) Yeah I gathered the info about the original Spiritbox kit somewhere across forums and Facebook posts. I never got the chance to check out the URM videos of Daniel though - so it‘s really just my interpretation of a drum mix that works for Spiritbox kinds of music 🤘🏼😊
Hey, I bught it, it sounds amazing. I have a question, though. When just using the kit and trying to replicate your master bus processing, did you reduce the input gain in the master bus somehow? Maybe I am doing something wrong, but the drums seem a bit too loud.
@@MarvTube87 hey, thanks for grabbing the Spiritbox SD3 preset! I don‘t remember exactly but sometimes I will reduce the input gain on the master bus so I have more headroom for the plugins. You can also reduce the output volume of SD3 for the same effect!
@@MixReady will try that thx. The drums sound a bit loud compared to the Holy Roller original track, if you mix in the other instruments and run it through master processing. The bass drum especially seems to have a lot of low end. Will have to mess around with it. Still, easily the best SD preset I ever tried.
I’ve been using one of you mix templates and love it. Wondering what drum vet you think is the best out there for metalcore at the moment? Or do you you just think certain tools suit certain songs.
Hey Sam! Thank you for using the Mix-Ready templates! 🤘🏼 I really thinking depends on the song. I am a big fan of the GGD kits. GGD Modern & Massive and GGD Invasion are still my favorites and they can cover a lot of genres.
Would you consider doing more SD3 mix presets ? Because as a drummer, it is sad that i can't play on an e-kit with the get good drum tremplates because of how CPU heavy that is, but I believe SD3 mixing done within the internal mixer is compatible with real time drumming. And this presets sound so great ! I'm curious if you could try to replicate Jeff Dune type of drum sound, especially the sound on latest Wage War album. I know he used GGD PIII for Emmure's Look At Yourself album
Hey my dude! I will do more SD3 templates in the future :) It‘s in my to do list for 2022. I would love to know how the internal mixing of SD3 affects the latency. It‘s hard to believe that I can throw countless plugins at it, and it is still close to real time 🤔 However, it seems to work somehow. Do you know anything about that?
@@MixReady well i actually don't know a lot abour that, but when i realised that I am not able to run a processed ggd kit in low latency, i looked on the internet and many people sayed that the SD3 Presest were the best thing for good sounding real time e drumming. I didn't bought SD3 for now because it's expensive, but I believe that mixing within SD3 is considered as a plugin. A channel, Develop Device does many SD3 presets and he says that it is E-kit compatible, so I don't think there is much latency. I think on thing you can do to try it is to "play" with the keyboard ans see how it goes. I got the same amount of latency triggering through my E Kit via Midi than pressing keys, so if there is no latency, i think it's a good indicator. Hope it helps you !
Thank you buddy! I was thinking about releasing this as a full songwriting template. It would be drums, bass and rhythm guitar tracks.. Hopefully soon when I finished some other stuff that I‘m working on right now 😊
Hey Anthony, thank you so much! I don‘t have a really beefy sounding kit with GGD Invasion yet. I have the „Fracture Kit“, which is sounding very punchy and aggressive, but not so thicc and massive. I guess I need to add another Invasion template in the future 😁🤘🏼
Yo man, just bought it, it sounds so good. Even though u guys are using some 3rd party plug ins like Slate Digital in the mastering chain, I still think you should include the channel set up plug ins in the pack or I might being so lazy! and by the way I saw the video in the pack, are you using the original Spiritbox track or it's the stems?
Yo Angus! Thank you for choosing this template! 🤘🏼 Including the mastering channel settings as a preset would mean to create project files for every possible DAW. I really want to keep it simply with the SD3 presets and keep the processing inside the SD3 mixer. I included a video of my mastering chain as a little cherry on top, for anyone that has those plugins available and wants to replicate the settings. 😊 Those stems were recorded by João Medeiros. He is creating metal covers and provides the stems on his Patreon page 🤘🏼
Can you get the preset without buying superior drummer 3? I looked and its like $400! The preset is only like $19 so I was wondering if I have another drum kit can I still get this preset?
Hey there! Yeah SD3 is quite the investment. 🙈 It is worth it though if you’re using it regularly or even for producing other bands and mixing jobs. This preset only works with Superior Drummer 3, but I have templates for other drum software like GetGood Drums, SSD5, Kinglake Drums, MT Powerdrumkit at mix-ready.com
Hey, Thanks for checking out this Mix-Ready preset! Here is the direct link: mix-ready.com/products/spiritbox-kit-sd3-preset You‘ll find all the information there. Let me know if you have any other questions 🤘🏼
Good question! As much as I love GGD... Kontakt has some pitfalls and can be difficult to work with. Using SD3 presets is way easier! Also I like how you can easily add One Shot samples in SD3. A huge part of this drum sound are the One Shots. It would be cool to have that option with GGD too.
@@xdocfearx7329 You can definitely make the core library work for poppunk! There might be a preset on the way already 🤭 However, have you heard the Poppunk expansion? It‘s reaaally good 🛹🍕🥤
Thanks my dude! I actually prefer mixing with the multi out routing, because here I was limited to the SD3 plugins. But it still worked out. I think the snare room sound would get overbearing in fast parts - so you would have to automate that down. 🤘🏼
