Spiritbox - Rotoscope (reaction) 

It's a little strange to me yeah! The way i look at it, if you're listening to spiritbox and expecting super heavy and only super heavy you're in the wrong place. In my opinion they've always had elements of pop and rock and that's what makes them THEM. If they did a complete 180 and started making country music or something, then I would understand the panic a lot more haha.

@@audioequis you’re exactly right! spiritbox has always been a band that you can’t exactly categorize because they blend and add elements from other genres in their music, and they do it very well. metal is evolving, whether people like it or not. i’m proud of spiritbox for being one of the bands that is paving the way for that. unfortunately there are a lot of “gatekeepers” who think they determine what is metal and what isn’t and their stuck in a certain mindset. this is where a personal opinion of mine comes in, but i’m glad to see it evolving. I think it’s very creative for bands to add new elements to metal music. it’s been putting metal music more in the spotlight. it needed to be refreshed because hearing the same thing gets so boring. heavy is great, but so is less heavier metal content. this is also paving the way for people who wouldn’t give metal a listen a bit more inclined to check it out cause it’s not all just brutal in your face. I love the direction spiritbox is going in. they’re also including but changing older genres as well which is sick. like I said, it’s refreshing.

@@beccareichard6669 Very well put. I myself am drawn to the heavy stuff more often than not. With that being said, I can appreciate almost all subgenres of metal. I understand the passion that people have when it comes to this genre, whether I think its managed/handled well or not. People have the right to their opinions, negative or positive. It's just a little difficult to find sense in those opinions sometimes haha. Tis life though 😂

@@audioequis that is true, I have my favorite bands that I like their formula and don't want them to stray too far from it, but when I first heard of Spiritbox 2 years ago I was like ok this is different and I like that they have different stuff they release, like you said in the video do you want some heavy shit I have it, I like tons of bands, but it's refreshing time to time to see a band just do what they want and not suck at it.

Thats fair! Not all of their tracks hit for me, but funny enough my favorite tracks so far have been blessed be and circle with me. Two very poppy, radio friendly tracks 🤣
