Anyone else getting 90's/00's Garbage vibes from these vocal patterns and arrangements? The production on this is great. Dan Braunstein just is crushing their production and their writing with Mike on these. Zev now writing the drum parts, and the addition of Josh from AS I LAY DYING now for live adding in those vocal undertones. Great 3 song EP
I really like this a lot. It's super catchy with the industrial/post grunge vibe and adds to their overall variety while still having a very Spiritbox sound. The last song from this EP is my favorite though, Hysteria. Been a while since you checked out anything from them. Sun Killer and Yellowjacket are must listens along with the other songs from the Eternal Blue album you haven't done yet. You also still have the Electric Cross music vid from the singles collection.
Weird Spiritbox is best Spiritbox. I'm super stoked with this release because it signals that they're not done experimenting with their sound. Not by a long shot. Also, this song is a banger and a half.
You guys introduced me to Spiritbox for which I'm very grateful. I don't dig their last album a lot, but this is very very good. Glad I've heard it one your channel.
This could've potentially become a top 20 charts hit if the hook was a little more catchy. I'm pretty certain their goal is to create something that'll make them a huge mainstream band without dropping the metal genre. They're trying to bring metal back into the mainstream like Korn did in the late 90s and I'm here for it.
There's also a bunch of amazing songs from their last album you haven't checked out like Sun Killer and Halcyon, Yellojacket etc Hysteria from their new ep is good too
*Highly recommendation : ALEX TERRIBLE [Slaughter To Prevail] - "DOOM Eternal : BFG DIVISION" [Instrumental by Mick Gordon][Lyrics written & added for the cover by Alex Terrible](Demon Vocal Cover) Have fun.* 😎 🎵 🔥🔥😈🔥🔥
I like it, but it's not the best thing they've written. The older, more complex prog/djenty stuff was more interesting to me. I hope they go back to that sound. The Mara Effect and The Beauty of Suffering are some of their best songs still.
I think their goal is to bring progish metalcore to the mainstream. They're experimenting with sound, which is fundamentally progressive in itself. But I'm certain they're and they've been attempting to create something that can make them the biggest band in metal without having to completely drop metal to become big. There aren't really any metal bands that have been big like that for...well nearly 20 years. I think their goal is to make metal mainstream again like Korn did in the late 90s and I'm here for it.
