Goes from mellow to brassy gradually, potential rival to my go-to CSB horns and only $49!

Beautiful, Bright, Majestic sound to these horns. I am a Cinematic Studio Brass/ Jaeger/ Nucleus User but I love the brightness of this sound and may pick this up

Did you add it? I love the Nucleus 6 horn patch, and it is plenty majestic already. But this is a smooth sound, and on sale for €29. Tempting!

I, of course, bought it immediately because I'm part of the problem. I think this is a pretty wonderful addition to my template. I find that it gives me the power and dynamics I don't get with the BBCSO Horns a4, which is already lovely, and it's a perfect middle before the CineBrass Horns a12 if I want my line to just wail away. This in combination with Thematic Trumpets an octave higher is a pretty incredible sound I'm sure I'll be sliding into almost everything. Thanks for the walkthrough!

Haha love it Aaron!

hey, regarding the lack of dynamic in BBCSO horns, do you mean the CORE version ? if so, how surprising, i was hoping its worth upgrading from the free one to get some legatos but the price its a little bit of a stretch haha
@aarondjacob
@aarondjacob Год назад
@@remmile having purchased Pro, I can say it’s worth it solely for the use of Mix 2. The hyped mix is such a great “out of the box” sound that doesn’t need much tweaking.

@remmile Год назад
@@aarondjacob thanks for the info, so if I understand right then the pro doesn't have enough layers to get fully dynamic?
@aarondjacob
@aarondjacob Год назад
@@remmile yeah. For me it’s about the fact that the more aggressive dynamic layers are just lacking a bit. Not much to do with the mics or mix.

I bought it yesterday and I am quite happy with spending 50 bucks on these horns. As for needing a FF articulation… well that’s something i wont use much since that amount of “blat” will obscure literally anything else in your mix. Forte is just fine by me. Nice review, you play the instrument in context with its role in the orchestra maybe pusing the embouchure of the poor performers on those very top notes there lol. Good job👍

does this seem like a good workhorse library for that John williams sound?

Thematic Horns has a good position to use, someday I had to get to try if I have money.

Christopher, I stopped 01:55 in because you said you were only going to show one mic position. IT's my thinking that anyone who wants to make this kind of library work with other libraries will want to hear close mics. I know that this ship has sailed, but maybe in the future you could devote some time to that kind of thing? Or is there some compelling reason you wouldn't?

Appreciate the feedback Richard! Will do more mic demos in the future, thank you ;)

Hi Chris! 👋 It's pretty good. The only gap it might fill in the libraries I already have, is the sustain patch. For that I currently use Cinebrass, but when I increase the mod wheel, the sound thins out to a metallic sound and loses all body and warmth. The sustain patch here maintains the warmth so I'm considering it for that patch alone. Also, the overall sound here is too wet for my taste, but I'm guessing you can reduce that by using the wheel in the centre of the GUI, but maintaining the "room" sound? Cheers buddy!

Cheers Paul! Yes, I believe you can dial down the reverb using the wheel in the middle.
