Exploring Spiti Valley: From Gue to Kaza
Join me on an unforgettable journey through the Spiti Valley! After exploring the serene Gue Monastery, we ventured towards Tabo Village. Here, we discovered the fascinating history of Tabo Monastery, home to both ancient and modern structures. The old monastery, made of sand, is a marvel that transports you to another world with its intricate murals and ancient statues.
Next, we enjoyed a delightful lunch at The Village Cafe, right beside Tabo Monastery. This hip cafe offers an extensive menu, from pastas and sandwiches to noodles and more, along with a superb selection of coffees including cappuccinos, espressos, and mochachitos.
Refreshed and satisfied, we climbed up to Dhankar Monastery, where we chatted with monks, meditated, and spoke with local kids. The higher altitude brought cooler temperatures, adding to the unique experience.
Our final stop was Kaza, a picturesque town and the administrative hub of Spiti Valley. Known for its stunning landscapes and blend of traditional and modern lifestyles, Kaza was the perfect end to our day. After checking into our homestay, we enjoyed a cozy dinner, excited for the next day as snow began to fall.
