@@fatherlucas7690 are you sure? Do you know what all Disney has now? Marvel, Star Wars, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC. They’re not just Disney kids shows anymore
@@loudmoderns5092 I don't know which part of the world you live in. But, if you live in the West, you can just go out and ask any random black person about their experiences, ask ten random black/brown people. If you look sincere you will get honest answers. In SA 🇿🇦 the whites are a minority but we experience daily racist incidents, from physical violence to verbal name calling, 'the K word'...they still hold economic power. Racism is a function of power. Keep well!
The people that run Disney have lost their minds they’re going so woke that hopefully they’ll go completely broke because people are getting sick of this ridiculous racism stuff.
It is sad to watching something you grow up with and love be destroyed by this woke bull. What’s even sadder is that my kids won’t get to enjoy Disney like I did.
Uncle Remus loved his job, I’d love to hear his reaction to this. It’s just like the crows in dumbo, they played the characters of the black jazz artist back in the day, it’s not racist, it’s recognizable. It pays tribute to their heritage.
WOW. What on earth?! I remember as a kid in the early 90s and we would go to Disney World and loved Splash Mountain. All my friends went there too. I’m Blk and I’m aware of the “Song of the South,” but I don’t care! I feel that that group is more upset at supposed racist tropes than Blk people are.
During the 1930's Dust Bowl disaster, California's population increased by 25% with Oakies that came out on US Route 66. Author John Steinbeck, born & bred in Salinas, Calif, actually rode with Oakie families to gather facts for his classic book "The Grapes Of Wrath". These Oakies had no housing, the Federal Govt built FEMA camps in rural locations, with 1 doctor per 500 residents. Children died of malnutrition. Only WW2 saved the Oakies with military service, and women worked in War Factories as Calif military bases grew in size & number. Nobody would care if Disney did an Oakie Adventure Ride.
It would be interesting to know who complained And to know who acted on the complaint I had heard Michael eisner was being hired as ceo I can't imagine him putting up with this bull
Since all the non stop talk of racism, I’m actually feeling 💩 I never before felt. I am sick and tired of it. This BS is creating racism. It’s creating division and hatred.
This happened like awhile ago. Why is this suddenly brought up? However, the reason they got rid of it is because it says the word “slave” in it. Associating the word “slave” with black people IS racist on their end. The ride isn’t racist, Disney is.
Dude they have been talking about doing this for over two years. Why are you so surprised, Disney always rethemes old rides. It’s so they don’t go stale with the younger audience. Disney himself wanted his parks to always represent the modern era.
You are being misleading. Disney has pulled song of the south since 89. This isn’t wokeism. They are just updating a ride which is great to have. Also the ride will not change, it’s just them theme.
It is sad to see the ride chance over and use the princess in the frog instead. That cartoon has a lot of reference to voodoo. Why not just have the inside of the ride have animals and butterfly's that can be enjoyed by all.Not any reference to any color. This is my opinion only and I am not racist in any form.
Song of the South is racist as fuck. The ride is based on the movie. I... I understand if you don't like that it's being taken down or whatever but holy fuck the amount of mental gymnastics you need to do to come away with your conclusion is just... holy fuck lol.
