Ikr?? Esp the scenario at 5:58 , would've been the perfect time to ball up and either use the baller to shield your team or attempt to detonate on the enemy power clam holders. Chasing with baller would've been riskier but also an option instead of just ignoring that the baller was ready at all and dying anyway.

Jeremy Ames I'm in S+ and if I throw clams at a teammate they just keep on going and don't pay attention. It's only happened maybe twice where they stopped and let me throw clams at them

I'm only in B+ because I never get good teams. I just try to sit and defend while they -get the points- flounder around and die constantly.

You kind of have to be agressive. Just know when to fall back to your net. It’s not that hard

You're not gonna rank up if you just sit around and defend. Everyone on your team needs to be collecting clams, especially in the lower ranks where you're gonna get murdered in the middle when its a 4v3. Tbh your comment makes you sound pretty lazy in Clam Blitz.

CerberusDarkone I picked up L-3 D but I had no problem with inkjet. Just keep distance and practice sniping with it. Don’t hold ZR but instead aim then press ZR

defend the rainmaker with bombs and specials. and if you’re the person using the rainmaker, stay behind your teammates and back up if you’re teammates are dead. also, if the other team has the rainmaker, throw bombs at them from a safe distance and try to damage them, or get the rainmaker to back up. and, try not to die alot since this is a VERY fast mode and things happen quickly in rainmaker

A tactic I see alot is someone ballin' to the basket with a powerclam and letting the opponents destroy their baller without exploding so they can throw the powerclam straight at the basket before getting splatted.

Why it can be good to jump back is partly because of the time you save and the special you save. By not dying you keep your entire special meter and it's way faster to get back to mid by jumping to spawn then by dying. So recognizing when you're in a losing position and your only way out is jumping back, it's very much worth the risk. Also why baller is so amazing in clamblitz. It's no so much that the one with the baller needs a ball, but everybody with balls can jump to the baller when he is positioned near the basket. So when you have a baller in your team and you have a ball. Keep him in mind when he pushes to their basket so you can have a free jump.

Another thing that I do (cuz most of my team doesn't jump to me when I'm right next to the basket saying to me and they have a powerclam) to just bring a powerclam with me so if no one jumps I can atleast score and my team can then if they have noticed throw it in still

"Always listen to someone who is using 'This Way'," Yeah no, briefly glance at the map first before you go blindly following or jumping to a teammate who thinks they know what they're doing. Just when they think they've dodged everyone they could be heading right towards another opponent. Also sometimes your teammates misclick.

If what you say is true then how did people such as dude get to X rank? Luck? I'm not so sure. If you're good you can still make it pretty far in clam blitz.

It's the common denominator argument. If a player is "good", then statistically it's more likely that he or she will make it to high ranks over a large number of played games. It's just a consequence of the fact that the game uses a fundamentally random matchmaker. An average team comp with average team cohesion and competence will win around 62% of the games that are played over a very large number of them. That varies from team to team obviously, but the math is there. However, a single bad player drastically reduces these odds. Again with the same scenario with just one bad player inserted in there, the chances tip, and the odds for one team winning gets even higher. This is why it's possible to get a decent rank over a large number of games, and just being a little bit better to increase your overall team competence in relation to the enemy team will push your chances of getting a high rank up. Unfortunately, this is also what traps a decent portion of the playerbase at low ranks despite good performance. And yes, you should always listen, but you misinterpreted what I said and showed why you probably aren't someone I want on my team. Never once did I say blindly jump in. The point was that if someone is using it and appears to be in a good position, then get yourself ready for a jump and assess your map like an actually competent human being. If I'm in fact safe, and you don't jump, you're the one at fault, and your map should reveal that most of the time.

+Xanzu Vohhenji I disagree with the idea of a single bad player though. For every bad player on your team, you will likely fight just as much, or near the number of bad players on the enemy team, so it should even out. And isn't a 62% win-rate pretty good? I'm not as sure about Splatoon, but I know for League of Legends that's a pretty amazing win-rate. And with 62% you should be able to climb pretty easily in Splatoon, since you can pretty much get to x with a 50% win rate. If you're 'trapped' in lower rank in clam blitz, it's probably because you're not doing as well as you would need to as to move on to the next rank. I think no matter the number of accounts from c- rank you give dude, he will always eventually arrive at x, due to his own skill. And for clam blitz I think it's especially important to generally just be better than your teammates to climb up (I think this applies to ranked in general, but clam blitz especially). Another point towards my argument: League of Legends is an extremely team based game. Yet in solo queue, a Challanger player (top rank) would likely be able to get to his own rank again even if starting from the very lowest rank due to his own skill. Yes you wouldn't win every game, but you'd win enough percentage wise to rise easily back to your own rank. I think clam blitz is kind of like that situation more. Yes you are placed with 5 randoms, but you have to remember so is the enemy team.

+Xanzu Vohhenji Also to respond to the safe jumping thing. If your team mate is close enough to the basket, it doesn't really matter if they're safe if you have a powerclam, for you can just toss it in immediately. If multiple team mates have a power clam, this strategy works quite well. (Such as a baller had pushed straight into the enemy team and is right next to their basket, if everyone jumps, it doesn't matter if you die immediately for you would toss in a bunch of power clams into their basket and there's nothing the enemy team can really do.)
