Splatoon 2 Final Fest in 2023 

Hi, I have a question about the tutorial. I don't know a lot about modding stuff, but it says to drop the file in your atmosphere, as if I was supposed to go to google and download it on my switch? Can you explain? Sorry if this is confusing lol

@@krissandwich69 yeah sorry about that. The guide is for people who have already modded their Switch. If you did mod it there would be a folder named "atmosphere" on the SD card. I would make a tutorial on how to do that but Nintendo would probably break into my house and steal my dog if I did that. However if you wanna mod it I can link some resources that will help you. Alternatively, if your PC is good enough you can just use Ryujinx to emulate Splatoon 2 and use the mod with it

Splatfest always felt alive in splatoon 2 in 3 everyone is spread out over distances it makes it feel more empty

I think they’re bringing it back, as well as special splatfests for Halloween and stuff like that, but I don’t remember where I heard this so don’t take my word for it.

Oh I completely agree Splatoon 3 music isn't bad or anything but I very heavily prefer Splatoon 2 music

For me I don’t know because I’m my opinion some of splat three’s songs are a bop (both of the front roe songs) but some are a bit lack luster I feel like for me I never got into some of the more pop sounds of two but rip entry in 2 is cool main thing I noticed is splat three pulls more from the punk side and two the more pop side

The music playing in the matches is the splatoon 1 splatfest song lmao. So technically it’s a splatoon 1 songs

@@hungrypizzafox yes but the music in this video IS the spaltoon 1 songs. Because the final fest first day played “ink me up” by the squid sisters. Which is in the matches of this video. Which is from splatoon 1

Same here tbh. Pretty much the only time they seemed to have any sort of spotlight was when they gave Pearl a Killer Wail on the last Shifty Station.

I feel like they got a huge spotlight. They got there own shifty station and it was completely themed after them. You even got to use pearls killer wail.

Octo expansion (which funnily enough I first picked up during the og final fest) puts alot of focus on them. Unless I'm misunderstanding smth

@@Shy_Man111 yeah Octo Expansion has them as a major characters. Squid Sisters weren't even around for that. And it makes sense that they weren't in Splatoon 3 yet. They were never agents like Squids Sisters. And Pearl and Marina are also going to have major focus in the Side Order.

I never got splatoon 1 and I also got splatoon 2 whenever the splatfests were over (I think I got it in late 2021 or early 2022). I don’t have the 1st or 3rd game, but I would love to get them and have a Wii U again so I can try out the first one

@@maybe-lazy If you decide to do that you should prob wait until Pretendo (custom Wii U online server) goes public because Nintendo killed the official Splatoon 1 servers

I wish they would add that too. But knowing Nintendo they would rather make it online only so that everyone has to buy Online. Kinda sad that modders have to add in something that should honestly be in the game already.

Thay would be amazing! Especially considering I only have Splatoon 2 😅 it would be nice to play an official Splatfest for once

I was using the scene changer on the Reinkify mod menu, the players were actually bots. I have Nintendo servers blocked when using mods because otherwise i would get console banned

Don’t know what will Splatoon 3’s final fest brought us, maybe that would create a even better Calamari Inkantation remix in that activity and everything is back

I completely agree, Splatoon 2's Splatfests actually feel special.

you can always do it on an emulator, and also there are protections you can use to prevent bans (DNS.mitm to block Nintendo servers and Exosphere to blank out your switch's serial number while running mods)

I noticed that too. It does look pretty much normal on some maps but on others it doesn't look right... Unfortunately the ink setting is in Reinkify so I probably couldn't fix it unless I dig around in it's source code. I'll try tinkering with some settings though and see if that fixes anything

@@PikaDoggYeah it’s weird, it’s been that way ever since it was implemented in Reinkify. I don’t know if it’s something the creator messed up or if the game doesn’t load it properly. The ink basically has the proper materials but doesn’t emit any glow.

There's an option in the mod menu I used called "Force Bots" that enables bots in those offline turf/ranked matches I was using. But yeah if modders can do it Nintendo easily could, they just won't for some reason.

Oh yeah. That's residual files from when I was trying to as closely as possible recreate the fest without the actual files because I thought they were lost. I need to know a couple of things: 1. What are you playing on? (Switch, Ryujinx or Yuzu?) 2. What version of Splatoon are you using? I only tested this on 5.5.0 and 5.5.1 3. Are you on Airplane mode? That seems to mess with the BCAT files for some reason.

@@Yusiina I'm sorry to hear that you're having issues with the mod. There have been a couple of other people who have the same issue. My current theory is that you need to put the BCAT files in the BCAT. To do that, you need to: 1. Right click Splatoon 2 on your main Ryujinx menu and click "Open BCAT save directory", which should open an explorer window to a folder named "0" 2. Open and/or extract the mod pack and go to 01003BC0000A0000/romfs/DebugUnderPilot/bcat . There should be a few folders, each containing .byaml files. Those are the BCAT files. Go into each folder and copy the files, then paste all of the .byaml files (as well as the.szs, .BPRM, and .BFRES files in the fesdata folder, as those are map and texture files for the Splatfest.) into the 0 folder from earlier. Make sure not to copy the folders and only copy the individual files. I remember this working for me when testing the mod on Ryujinx so hopefully it works. 3. Once you get them all in there, try running the game again. If it works for you too please let me know because if it does I'm going to make a version of this pack that makes setup easy on Ryujinx, because I know that setup is very tedious to do with the normal pack.

I'm using Reinkfy to play Turf War offline, and the Splatfest files are custom, i just took the original file and changed the end date from 2019 to 2099 so it "never" ends. I do plan to release the mod and make a tutorial soon though EDIT: I might actually upload it to GameBanana w/ a link to the tutorial and make the tutorial itself unlisted since Nintendo has been copyright striking people who make public tutorials

Y'know I never noticed but I think you're right! They do act alot like Octolings, maybe the mod developer just recycled the code for the Octo AI and used it for their AI. It would be a lot easier than making one from scratch

You need a Nintendo Switch with modded with CFW to run game mods. I think you can also mod the game on an emulator like Yuzu or Ryujinx but I'm not sure how well mods work on those

@@kedinamite579 Custom Firmware, the most common one for Switch is called Atmosphere. It basically allows you to do stuff that the Switch normally cant or isn't allowed to do. To run it you need to have a Switch thats vulnerable to an RCM exploit. Some switches have been patched and can't run the exploit, others haven't been patched. you can check if yours has been patched or not at ismyswitchpatched.com/ if its not patched then i can send you a guide if you want

Here's the thing: the logo isn't lost. There's a mod that replaces the normal title screen with the final fest one. I tried figuring out what the Splatfest title screen was called so I could rename the mod file and have it replace the Splatfest screen but I couldn't figure it out. If anyone can figure out what the Splatfest title screen is called in the game files, I'll be able to restore it.

i do have a hacked switch yes. i originally did it to backup games and save files but i figured i might as well do some fun stuff with it lol

@@Luke_Fox5 This isn't possible on an OLED. You would need a moddable Switch from about 2017 to July 2018 for this to be possible. The reason you need an older Switch is because Nintendo accidentally left a vulnerability in the console hardware that was patched out later on. You could technically mod an OLED you'd just need to have someone install a mod chip which is a long and costly process.

Yep! You'd have to host the games on a private server like LANPlay though, I haven't tested it but I'm pretty sure using this on normal Nintendo Online would probably console ban you

No. You need the bcat (Nintendo content delivery system) files, then you need to edit the end date to whatever you want. This unfortunately isn't possible on an unmodded switch.

I'd have to get the files for other Splatfests, but definitely! Someone put the files for every Splatoon 1, 2, and 3 Splatfest on GitHub so all I'd have to do is get the files for the fest, edit the start/end date in Switch Toolbox then save the changes

Tried that and all it did was make my game crash so that's why I did this also apparently it would've loaded the normal Splatfest plaza if it did work and I wanted the Final Fest one

If your Switch is already modded then yes you can install it. As long as your phone has an SD card slot it shouldn't be an issue.

I found an archive of the Final Fest files somewhere on GitHub, I then changed the end and results year from 2019 to 2099 using a tool that can edit Switch game files, then I put it into my Switch's Splatoon 2 mod folder and it worked

Oh I also converted some .wav music files to .bfstrm files for the Splatfest music because I don't think the right music would've played otherwise

You need either a modded Switch or an emulator. i can't make a tutorial otherwise Nintendo would probably strike my channel. but you can find some guides around the internet if you wanna give it a shot
