Honestly one of the best dlc. It adds so much to the lore of the game, develops its characters, and adds a great challenge. This is how dlc should be done and I hope some of the level design makes it way to the hero campaign of future splatoon titles

Even after beating Splatoon 3’s story mode, Octo Expansion’s final act is still my favorite by far, the music, the urgency, the fight against your past inkling, THE FINAL BOSS It was all executed so well I can only hope that whatever DLC Splatoon 3 gets that’s its just as fantastic or even better than octo expansion

I like how the AI considers the Inkling and Octolings unworthy because they have fun ink-based combat but the Humans who created him argued over the exact same things but actively tried to kill each other in any way they could, consequences be damned.

The reason why Agent 3 has so many specials is because Splatoon 1 has been pretty much hacked straight into the ground at this point

SO here's some fridge horror for you: the bad guy ALREADY blended up a bunch of Oclolings and Inklings to fill that gun with the "primordial ooze" to destroy the world. This game is really dark..... Also I'm kinda glad Marina is the smart/techy one.

Man, this DLC was a ROLLERCOASTER of emotions for me. When Cap drew the missing poster for Agent 3, I was like, "Yup, that's gonna be the final boss." But then it wasn't. *But then it was.* *BUT THEN IT WASN'T.* After collecting the second thang, I took a good look at it and thought: "I- huh. Yep. That's a blender." But I didn't think he'd *try to kill me?!* But then Pearl's "booyah" and the way it was shown like a battle when Judd shows you the results... And then it saying 8888.88, to top that off nicely. Actual shivers! Down my actual spine! It's how it still happens but the nostalgia hit real hard and I don't know why! My point is. Octo Expansion. Wildest ride I've ever been on. Good luck.

Nothing against Splatoon 2 single player campaign but I feel Octo Expansion is the true Splatoon 2. Every thing ( looking past the ramped up difficulty )was so much better. Not to mention Pearl and Marina are more than capable of being successors to Callie and Marie. I love the Splatoon franchise and its quirky charming style. And the music of Octo. MY GOD!!!

I just want us all to take a secound to appreciate what kind of a happy game Splatoon is considering: - These mutated sea life creatues took over the land, after humanity destoryed all ground life with nuclear war (Pearl mentioned finding a human skeleton in her backyard). - That telephone used a blender to shred 10007 octolings into pulp to create these green octo clones (not to mention the screams of agona from the previous subject that you can hear when the blenders puts itself together) Isn't it great how Nintendo can hide this bloody/inky story behind bright colors?

You know what this final boss is? The fucking vaporwave statue. It's too much of a coincidence for it to just be any old Greek statue.

Tatar is delightfully evil and a wonderful breath of fresh air after Octavio. Not only did he turn on his prime directive and completely deny the cephalopeople potential exabytes of valuable human-generated data, but he decided that, to complete his new goal, he would _violently murder thousands of people_ after erasing their memories and putting them through a gauntlet of some of the most sadistic examples of Splatoon gameplay I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing, all the while using as enemy ink a gory paste of previous test subjects who were unlucky enough to find the Four Thangs. I fucking KNEW it was a blender the INSTANT I found my second thang (the base), and I had a creeping suspicion when I found my first (the blades). "You wage war over minor genetic deviations. I love the Octo Expansion. Working with Pearl And Marina and their personalities, learning more lore from the DLC, but what I really love is the soundtrack. I love when people make lyrical version of Fly Octo Fly (Commander Tartar Theme) and Ebb and Flow (Commander Tartar 1 Minute Left) Themes. Splatoon 2 Octo Expansion Will always have a special place in my heart, no matter how many games they make.

Octo Expansion was hell to fight through, but in the end... It was worth it, to be honest I cried while playing, went into debt going through the rails, literally raged over parts of it, but it was all worth it. I still get a little tear in my eye when I see how Marina and Pearl greet my octoling in the square. And to hear her little Veemos or my boy's Nwehs makes me happy. In the end I literally broke down in tears, see their precious smile and all I could say was "Your free Amy, Your home.." -Amy is my octoling oc I chose to play as- and I've played as the Octolings since! No regrets..

Kudos to Nintendo. This was their most expressive player character since the modern iteration of the Mario characters. And this was part of a DLC.

Sure, the phone claims it's trying to wipe out Inkopolis because it desires to create a new world, but I'm pretty sure it's just jealous of the Splatfest fax machine that the Inklings worship.

Jeez this DLC just oozes passion. The designers, programmers, producers and everyone really put a ton of heart and soul into it and it shows. Every time I replay it there's something new I notice, Splatoon 1 hackers and agent 3 taking their special meter off; the victory counter going to 8888%; human technology looking so alien after they went through five World Wars and killed each other out but still feeling human with the memontos of greek human statues and notes of research; the human heart beat sound as the cannon is pumped with the corpese of the 10,000s of octoling test subjects that were blended. Etc. Etc. etc. Not to mention the secret Pokemon Red style secret boss. With a locker that refers to "the song that brings memories of the squidtastick beats 2 years ago."
