When you think about it, Chaos technically counted in splatoon's regular story mode since the octarians were going nuts and trying to get the G. zapfish whereas in the Octo expansion, the lore led to a bunch of brainwashing, and all for the satisfaction of bringing the world to superiority. So, this could mean if chaos wins, splatoon 3 would have a story like the octo Canyon (and maybe if they will, spice it up), and if order wins it could mean another octo expansion perhaps. which would you want?

Splat 3 prediction: Chaos wins: there’s too much mess and the main character needs to take over and maintain order Order wins: a strong government rules everything and you are a part of a small team going against them(like sonic forces’ story not really but you get the idea)

If marina wins, she’ll be the villain as she attempts to force everyone to get along and stay with her. It will be the reverse of splatoon 1 where the loser (Callie) became an antagonist, but that’s just my theory.

I like this announcement even after all this time. Pearl was brought up in wealth and privilege, Marina was a soldier and slave for the Dj octavio, it's likely she experienced the oppression and poverty after events of splatoon 1. Pearl sees chaos as self expression and change meanwhile Marina is scared of what seeing what happened to her happen to everyone else

So, Splatoon's final Splatfest was Callie vs Marie, and it shaped Splatoon 2's plotline by making Marie win, and Callie lose. What if, Chaos or Order shape the next game, if there'll ever be one? Which there will most likely be. If Chaos wins, Splatoon 3 might just be a desolate wasteland; compared to what it is now. If Order wins, the next game might have a heavily controlled Inkopolis, and nobody is allowed to have free will or free thoughts. I feel as if fighting for free will and breaking out of the mind controlling Order side would be a lot more entertaining than, say, fighting for order in a desolate Inkopolis.

Me and my friends theory is, If chaos wins, then inkopolos will be all chaotic, and the story mode will try to bring back order. This would feature a lot of salmonoids as the antagonist while learning salmon lore If order wins, then it would be similar to the octo expansion, but trying to rebel against the order to bring the war to chaos. This would feature sanitized ink and learning about tar tar. Personality both are cool, but I’m a salmon kinda guy so chaos

They could always just rig the splatfest though.

You know, it kinda makes sense that Chaos won, especially when you consider the metacommentary behind Splatoon as a whole. When someone says "Online Multiplayer Shooter", most people immediately think Call of Duty, Battlefield, CS:GO, etc. All of them grounded on realism and trying to take themselves seriously, wearing the M-17 like a badge of honor. Splatoon defies all that by being an E-10+ online multiplayer shooter, where the main objective is to paint the floor. It's just out there doing it's own thing and people enjoy it. Thanks to the chaos, this game exists.

If you look at it it’s sort of a yin yang situation with chaos vs order. Chaos is the evil And Order is the justice Both balance each other out We can’t live in a world full of evil and in a world full of justice (if that last part makes sense).

Looking back on this, I’m surprised how somewhat one-sided the votes were on this. This was a very hard decision, and fitting for a final splatfest too.

Honestly when I started it up and the music started getting faster, I started freaking out like "AH SHOOT, OH MY GOD THIS IS LIKE OCTO EXPANSION, YAMERO!!" Also when she mentioned Eight and Cap, that kinda spooked me, since she has never mentioned them, octo expansion has never been mentioned in front of I guess other inklings.
