Splatoon 2 Squid Tips: Clam Blitz!

Here’s a good tip: Like you said in the video, one clam is 3 points. That means Nine is worth 27 in total, which is more than a Power Clam (20). So, if you see a teammate or two with a power clam, maybe hold on to around 7-9 clams for a bigger push!

4:34 This is actually a tactic, since your location won’t be pinpointed until you pick it up again, so throwing it up helps you sneak past that point, rapidly pick the clam up and then throw it in

My tip is: Sometime's it's not worth pushing. If you're heavily in the lead, there's not much benefit to pushing, especially if you get team wiped. Just hang back and waste your opponents time.

This channel reminds me of all the good times I had from the moment I became a Squid-kid-in-training to a full-on competitive player in both Splatoon 1 and 2, because this was my go-to for helpful information and strategy guides. Every time there was a concept I struggled with, I came here, and you would always help, and I’m grateful. I know you don’t know me and you probably won’t ever see this but I still thought I’d stop by nonetheless, and just let you know how very grateful I am for everything you’ve done. Wherever you are now I hope you’re living a wholesome life, and will continue to be the shining light that you once were to me 🤝

You can also use the L button to throw clams. Helps in aiming better.

I'm surprised you didn't mention how a power clam is automatically spawned underneath a team's goal after it's timer runs out from being broken. I can't count how many times my team forgets to pick up that power clam while they scramble the map looking for clams.

I found baller is also a pretty good special as well, and even better as an initiation tool for pushes. Since the baller makes you immune to damage, can splat any foes to close to it when it explodes, and allows you to carry clams-but drops them when you pop out- it’s great for breaking the enemy lines and paving the way for your team to attack. It presents the enemy with two choices: Try and stop the baller by focusing fire on it (and risk getting splatted when it explodes) or keep a safe distance from. I actually tried this in a solo-queue match recently on Manta Maria, and it worked really well.

I feel like people need to know that 9 clams are worth more than a power clam.

Here are my best tips for clam blitz: 1. This mode involves a lot of "sacrificing". Meaning, you will often have to sacrifice yourself to break the enemy goal. It's not often easy to break the enemy barrier and then get away without being killed. So don't worry about that. If you break the enemy barrier with a power clam, you're doing your job even if you get killed. 2. Don't collect 10 clams straight away. Wait till you're closer to the enemy goal, then collect 10 to get a power clam. You will stand a higher chance of breaking their barrier this way, because getting a power clam partly reveals your location. 3. If the enemies break your barrier, stay back and guard it. Kill the opponents when they get near. Don't advance until your barrier is back up. 4. Try to pass your clams to teammates. If you see a teammate near the enemy goal who just needs one more clam to get a power clam, pass them one of yours. I have made it to S+ in this mode so I'm doing well, and it's still rare to find teammates who pass me clams when I need them... 5. Remember to say "this way" when necessary if you are playing with random people online. Clam blitz requires more cooperation than any other ranked mode. 6. Try to target opponents who have power clams more than any others. If you see an enemy with a power clam coming close to your goal, shoot them down ASAP.

Good to see you back on RU-vid, Michelle. You forgot to say at 3:21 that the defending team's goal will be inaccessible for another 10 seconds AND spawn a super clam for them to help them push the objective.

It’s back!

This mode is so difficult for me, I remember playing for 2 hours straight to understand the BASICS. Also, it's a really boring mode if you have no friends and you play with people you don't know... I think communication with your teammates is crucial in this mode.

You forgot one thing, after the enemy team finishes their push, a power clan appears at the edge of your goal, which can be used for a counter push

I have another pretty good tip: If your team is ahead by a lot and it doesn't look like you really NEED a push into their base, play it defensive. It's not all about getting nothing but knockouts, but about testing your skill to see if you can TRY to win. Who knows, if you continued to push, maybe the other team can make a massive push back. It's happened to me when I was new to clam blitz

this is my opinion, but I like the hydra splatling the most because of its super long range and its ink mine.

Here’s a tip on super jumping with clams, I’ve used this strat for a while, but basically if you have a weapon with a squid beacon sub, use it, if you’re trying to push you can set a beacon near the barrier, if you do get a power clam you’re able to super jump with the power clam without breaking it, which is useful, you can also super jump to a teammate, so that’s 2 ways you can super jump without breaking your clams

The Octo brush is a very nice weapon for this game mode, you move fast, you can collect and chuck clams at fast speeds and this also makes this a good weapon for sneaking up and picking off other enemies who have power clams

Another tip, make sure that you have some clams, especially when a teammate has a power clam. I have played countless times in which I burst the basket open, but no one has clams, so I get a penalty that's bigger than a power clams point count.

One tip : Use an ink brush or octo brush, so if the goal is covered in enemy ink, you can just brush to it

One of the most annoying things in clam bitz is when you and a teammate are in a perfect position to break their barrier and quickly get a few more clams in, but they won't throw u any. Like one time I had 9, he had 5/6 and we were basically in the enemys spawn at the skatepark and the enemy were all off fighting in the middle. Ughhuhuh. I guess I just have to get better so I can rank up amd find more cooperative teammates.

use a brush in clam blitz. in this mode you will need speed and pvp skills and brushes do a lot of damage close range. the brush "roll" speed lets you collect lots of clams very fast, and lets you get to the enemy basket faster. also, try and super jump to your teammates if they are at the enemy basket and it's open. you can get to the basket immediately and score more points. also, if you splat an enemy with a power clam, camp the clam so they can't get it back

little addition to penalty points: you only get penalty based on what you score each opening, half of it to be precise at 6:15, she talks of the penalty counter as a bad thing, but all points you score do get you closer from 0

I lost my S+ in this mode because in the match I lost it we were in overtime and were 1 point behind , I got a power clam and managed to throw the clam in the basket but as the power clam was penetrating the barrerir the game ended and we lost. like WTF

Problem with this mode is that it mainly relies on teamwork. (Something that's not easy for solo ranked matches) And if one person doesn't know what they're doing, that's a big disadvantage to the team.
