that second game...... six splatlings, five of them being hydras, the other two weapons also being duplicates, of the dreadwringer no less, and yaoi jesus and yaoi judas on the other team. truly one of the splatoon moments ever
hydra has always been one of those weapons i loved conceptually but struggled to use effectively and i feel like, though this is a meme team video, i've learned quite a lot on how to make its playstyle work by watching it! thanks for providing such a fun and oddly educational video!
Hydra. Hydra. Hydra. Nice video man, I've always loved the Hydra, ever since I first used it back in splatoon 1, and have mained that thing ever since. Other weapons are fun to play, but none have really stayed as long as Hydra. Most shooters aren't enjoyable for me as I never liked the front line playstyle so I've stuck to mid to back line weapons.
I've been a long time.Hydra player, basically since it came out in 1, and man when I have a group who can play Hydra we always do this at least once, it's so funny how this doesn't suck all that hard.
not the creator but i’ve got 2 tips 1: play salmon run, you can get a variety of chunks through that mode 2: if you’re looking for some specific chunks there are 2 ways i’ve used. 2a: during splatfest, get the drink of the chunk you want and then just play the game 2b: not during splatfest, find a piece of gear with the brand of the ability you want favored, wear that. if you wish, get a drink with the second ability you want. play until all ability slots are filled, then scrub and repeat
gonna leave another tip for getting gear chunks you want- You can always find one of those gear seed websites.. I'd recommend looking it up on here to see what I mean. But they can help you get the exact chunks you want. Edit: I would link the video I saw but alas youtube links don't really work atm but I will say the videos name and the tuber who made it. Im pretty sure i actually went against you guys, my team had a rapid blaster pro? idk one of the vrapid blasters, and tetra dualies, luna blasters, and an nzap. you guys did well! ggs!
I would say while it’s important to use run speed up, I don’t think it’s necessary to use more than at least two mains and 3 subs. Run more utilities like swim speed, quick super jump, and ink saver main, it makes the weapon feel more capable of itself. As far as gameplay goes, I’d say try to stay back and root out the enemies as best you can while making sure you are always in a safe spot to give jumps and support your team.
@Alex_145 here are my 6 tips as a Hydra Main since Splat 1. -Remember that you only need a quarter charge to kill. It won't happen often but that's all that is needed to kill. You don't always have to go for full charges either, you only need to touch the second ring to get your increased damage, and the difference in duration would only be a second. You can easily help break a rainmaker shield with that. Hydra has insane DPS potential. -Another thing is that you can save alot of ink by ending your charge early with squid form. Hydra has Really short whiting frames for a back-line so use those when you get a chance. -Recognize when you should fall back, Hydra is definitely an Anchor for your team, if you notice the enemies have the special advantage and a numbers advantage, play more defensively. You out range any shooters so keep them at distance, they have to push into your space, so maintain it. -Your auto bomb isn't useless, I can help push enemies into less suitable positions or help clear them from under ledges you can't shoot under. -And Lastly, Change your position up, You are a back line yes, But you should still position in different spots. If you start the game in one spot the enemies will get used to you being in that one spot. you can then change to a different spot and surprise them in places they would have been save if you hadn't changed spots. -The Hydra has surprisingly good Jumping Accuracy. I know what the Bloom shows but I can be at max distance spamming full jumps and still land more then half my shots. And I've started tto run a single sub of Intensify Action to help with this. Jumping can help throw off other back-lines thinking that you're a slow grounded target when in fact you're just a slow target, and can go airborne!
@@3minxen I usually just run a single sub to help with the already insane jump accuracy. also helps maintain speed when squid roll which can help you retreat faster or if you ever want to squid surge it's slightly faster
