Honestly I love the fact that theyve gone and grabbed the octostamp, very fitting ngl Was very much expecting another same as usual octostamp boss tho, pleasantly supprised
I love how each boss references a past installment. Frye: Splatoon 2 -Enemy with a personal respawn point, like the Octo Samurai Shiver: Splatoon 1 -A giant thing which tries to eat you, like Octomaw Big Man: Super Mario Sunshine
Frye was the hardest. I died twice on my first try. I didn’t lose any on the other 2. Exactly what I would expect of the team Paper leader. The hardest boss.
Big Man’s was not difficult I’m sorry. If you had the right upgrades at the right time, it’s not hard locating what manta hes’s hiding in and blasting him to high heaven with ink. I did feel bad though. Big Man doesn’t deserve this
I already know people think this isn't as good as Octoweaponary and Octoarmaments but like... yeah. Turquoise October isn't making the music this time, it's something different. And for what it is, it is an absolute JAM
i think they might still be making the main level themes but the fuzzy ooze is making them make different music you can tell because some of the vocals are seemingly the same as normal
I’d like to think that the Octostomp that Frye uses was a previous challenger that Frye and her eels defeated and now has become apart of this battle not as an enemy but as a tool that Frye uses in her attempt to kil- I mean… splat… you. 😐
Personally, given Deep Cut's "secondary profession" shown off in the story mode, I imagine that they found the remains of Octostomp after it's defeat in splatoon 2 and decided to make use of it.
@@Dr.Pootis yeah that might be more simple… idk now my inference feels dumb… then again we haven’t dug deeper into deep cut… there’s still lore to find.
@@Dr.Pootis This would be a great answer if it weren't for octostomp being in octo expansion. I wonder if the japanese version implies that octostomp redux is the same octostomp that appears in splat1 and splat2's hero modes. Deep Cut going to the deepsea metro is a really stupid idea, so there's no way that'd be canon. ...Then again I'm talking about the same people who made the finale for return of the mammalians. I hope it just isn't explained, because I don't want to see the devs tread through the minefield that is explaining it.
@@Gulliblepikmin There are two options. They already have an in-depth story in mind that links everything together, like how they explain how Judd talks to you through telepathy. Or, they don't explain it at all, just like how we STILL have ZERO idea what the FRIDGE "Low-Tide Ink" is supposed to be.
Frye went from my least favorite to my favorite member solely from her personality and fight in the story mode. Easily the coolest fight of the three Deep Cut members
“Is… that Octostomp’s dead body full of eels?” “She’s got a shark! OH MY GOD SHE’S GOT A SHARK!” **Drowning in a sea of bombs and manta clones even with get sensor**
Frye was so mad about the forehead jokes that she killed the octostomp to use as giant top. Octostomp's involuntary inclusion in this fight is really random.
I'm already loving Deep Cut due to cultural differences and diversity. I'm so much proud of this trio than the other pop idol groups of the franchise...! 🤩
Same here! When I heard the kettle preview music I just sat there listening to it, and I had no idea what part of the song it was until I went back to search for it. I like the grittiness of the kettle version it gets my blood pumping
kind of sounds like pieces of old songs from the previous splatoon story modes? I feel like it’s either a tribute to the older games or just an easter egg because of frye’s battle using the octo stomp against you
This boss fight had no right being as hard as it was. I cheered real cheers of joy when I finally beat it. Honestly, I love Frye for this, thanks for being so frustratingly difficult that I nearly started crying when I beat you
I love how there's a subtle reference to Now Or Never in this like with Octarmaments from 2. Listen to the percussion near the start of the song. EDIT: Percussion, not clapping. My bad.
An octoling trooper piloting while voice capturing during the boss fight. Remember they're called "great octo "weapons"" despite soo f**king big someone had to pilot it and control it while balancing.
Deep Cut, Ace Class Support Spirit Characters: Bayonetta (Shiver), Shantae Mii (Frye), Greninja (Big Man) Stage: Music: this or “Till Depth Do Us Part” Conditions: -Certain Pokemon emerges (Kyogre to reference Shiver’s fight) -hostile assist trophy (Jeff to reference Frye’s fight) -Greninja’s occasionally invisible (referencing Big Man’s fight)
I know it’s not your fault, but this video got hit in my recommended feed BEFORE I got to finish the story mode. I got spoiled by the track name. Thanks a lot, YT algorithm. 😠
both tracks are fully of personalities tho Octoweaponry has the silly (or at least that's what they look) feeling of the Octarians while this shows the energetic and cultural side of Deep Cut and do feel like their festitive dance
Nothing like hearing this song while checking comments and seeing a comment saying splatoon devs making a bad song impossible and then an entire fight in the replies on which songs were trash
Imagine getting into a paintball fight with the local news anchor/up and coming band for some scrap metal. And why do they call themselves bandits? I sure don't see them wearing balaclavas, shouting "Anu cheeki breeki iv damke!" and robbing Loners for their hard earned artifacts!
Fighting Big Man Big Man: Aye! (This Is For Splatsvill) (Turns Into Manta Ray) Agent 3: Huh? I Feel Like Somebody With A Mustache Went Through Something Like This Before?
Damn, Frye's boss was way too hard for me. The Moray Whirlpool parts made me stressed out so much because of the fact her Eels had a very high chance of killing me in that attack, so whenever I heard her saying "Second dance! Moray Whirlpool!" I knew I was fricked up at that moment, so I had to dash to the corner of the battlefield as fast as I could before the Eels could kill me! XD What a funny but worrying story that happened to me 1 day ago...
@@mochaexpress5419 Little tip: For Shiver, don’t use bombs. As inhumane as it sounds, Little Buddy doesn’t move from a spot, so just plop him over where Master Mega is going come up and you’ll be good
Dr. Meridian: in that case, you messed with a wrong dude! Ouch, that's more likely than you got, eh? You're never heard last of April's naught gang! In till next time... Me as a chocolate queen: just I thought, get ready for coco time! Ofo. You always been so rude by me, huh. You're never seen last of April's naught gang! Farewell! Dark max steel: ha. It's you, eh? Fine by me, it's be punishment time for you! Ow. That's not cool, isn't it. You never see and heard last of April's naught gang! Sayanora!
all the music from alterna feels much more human and less alien feeling like the beats from turquoise october, which is fitting, but i wish they had bosses which felt less like friendly challenges
bosses in other games: gods, ancient warriors, russians, etc. bosses in nintendo games: BIGGEST FOREHEAD IN ALL OF INDIA FEAT. EEEEEEEEEEELS! a kabuki with CHEEEETOOOOOOH FINGEEEERS and a shark. and if you don't go to brazil, BRAZIL COMES TO YOU.
