Basically Calamari Inkantation from the first game, with a different opening. I don't claim this music, the game, or the soundtrack as my own! All credit goes to Nintendo!
Calamari Inkantation is an amazing song. But god it is *terrifying* when the Squid Sisters aren't singing it for you. Props to them for making us feel what it's like to be on the other end of this song.
Before this game, I used to have this weird habbit where I would just restart a game after I beat it. But when I got to this boss and beat them, I stopped. I never want to go through this hell ever again.
In canon, Eight probably saw the toothpick in the locker, passed out from shock and PTSD, and this fight is Eight finally facing her fears and fighting against her inner fears of Agent 3
Probably, since Cuttlefish did say that Agent 8 and 3 were fighting in the moments before they were taken underground. Dunno how the toothpick relates to the whole thing, unless I'm missing something.
@@HeyLookItsFNaFb i doubt that this was where the fights took place. why would the calamari inkantion be blaring along with rave lights if agent 3 was fighting a random octoling?
@@scrp6638 The location greatly resembles that of where Agent 3 faces off against DJ Octavio, and it was evident that there were Octolings there, because Marina was there shortly before defecting.
The takoyaki was stuck in a golden toothpick, and Agent 8 could have been killed or nearly burned by the Squid Tribe before being taken to the Deep Sea Metro.
Nintendo: Ok, everyone how will we make inner agent 3 the hardest boss. Employee: Hmm, how bout we add 5 specials, unlimited ink, better aim and autobombs. Then the player has only splat bombs and a octo shot. Nintendo: Now your speaking my language.
@@tallic967 so was my reply dumb shit. I literally said that I thought there was a stingray sound playing in the background. How dumb can you be to not get that.
If you’re struggling with Inner Agent 3, I have some tips; 1. Ink the ground. Controlling the turf is the key part in winning this fight. You always want more turf covered than her. Before going to break IA3’s armor, make sure you have plenty of turf covered. If she steps in your ink, she’ll stagger for a second, giving you more time to attack. 2. The box in the bottom left corner is your friend on the Inkjet and Splashdown phases. 3. On the Bubble and Autobomb Launcher phases, you should charge her- don’t give her time to shoot out so many bubbles and autobombs. That’s all I have, and it’s helped me beat Inner Agent 3 three times.
I usually hide around the barrel for splashing and redoing the fight i taught myself to charge during the bubble attack. Helped me beat her the second time in a few hours after not touching splatoon for years. Those other stats are lookin tasty though...
My strat in the first phase was inking the edges of the battlefield while she shot at me, then when she used the inkjet start aimlessly manouvering around the battlefield by using the Swim Jump Ink Swim technique (I just made that up on the spot) where you ink a small line in front of you, swim through it, jump, then while in the air ink another small line and repeat. Do this until you see the area where Inner Agent 3 will land after the ink jet. Keep in mind he usually shoots 6 shots before coming down, and then camp the area (Still using the SJIS technique) until you can't hear any more inkjet noises. IMMEDIATLY start shooting where she will land and then, when she starts avoiding you, just rush her and you should get to the second phase
Agent 3 is also designed to be stronger if she has a clear shot on you. If you're shooting at 3 and force her to act defensively her accuracy becomes extremely poor, allowing you to sidestep her projectiles and control the pace of the fight to some extend. The most important part is to not let yourself get cocky, as she can still toss bombs with uncanny accuracy and will catch you off-balance if you're being careless. If you can get past the tenta missile phase you've already made it past the worst, always prepare an escape vector to get out of the first splashdown zone and remember the rules of engagement during the ink battle.
For all the world though, let us appreciate the fact this boss isn't using splatoon 1 specials. Imagine if she could use ALL of those, like we all know they'd let her.
Could you imagine if she just had the bubbler? and was invincible for like 10 seconds? or worse, if she had the seakers as the sub weapons - they were like autobombs but wayyyy worse
Going from the rest of Octo-Expansion to beating Inner Agent 3 is like going from playing Turf War on Level 1 to playing an S Rank battle of Splat Zones
Chew on this. This played in the second half of the original Octavio fight, and now during Inner Agent 3. Sure it’s Agent 3’s boss theme, but on another level, considering how both times Agent 3 pushes back her foe (Octavio constantly travels backwards, and you get pushed back by the insane special barrages).
Nintendo: any boss ideas? One dude: *a small target with 5 phases high health super jumps extremely good AI with dodge rolls unlimited ink tons of different fast charging deadly specials auto-bombs and give the player no specials regular splat bombs and a gigantic hit box in a small arena with un-inkable walls, no checkpoints, and make it only accessible after collecting all 80 colorized mem cakes (which are really hard to collect) and defeating the final boss. And when you beat it give them just a golden hair pick. Also the boss never happened, it’s all in your octoling’s mind and they could easily pick up the hair pick but they have to defeat the god within them or else they ditch it.* Nintendo: great idea! Besides, they’ve experienced hackers, they’ll be fine.
Very late to this, but I believe the narrative implication is that this happed during or shortly after the events of Splatoon 1. One of the pages you can collect mentions that octolings who heard the Inkantation broke free from octoling society and became interested in inkling culture. Around the time of the original battle against DJ Octavio Agent 3 and 8 fought, with 8 presumably losing. IA3 is essentially 8 using the experience gained in the subway tunnels, and defeating a severely weakened 3, to essentially work through their trauma. And the fight is so difficult because to 8, Agent 3 is ahead by a near insurmountable gap of skill and ability. And personally, I think the golden hairpin is really cool. It's a small subtle accessory that lets your hair style and clothing choice breathe while serving as a small bragging right, and its primary skill isn't too bad either.
I've never gotten to Inner Agent 3 and I know I never will. I'm terrible at the regular Octo Expansion levels and Sanitized Agent 3 alone. Still wondering how I ever managed to beat it. To everyone wearing that golden toothpick, you have my eternal respect. :')
@@MountainMemelord octo's final boss is supposed to be climactic, not hard. The real final boss was the entire ending segment in general. Tartar is just to have a satisfying ending with some banger music
I would keep playing the Octavio fight in the first game just for this music, and even now I still get goosebumps. Whoever made the soundtrack REALLY knew how to get the players fired up
*Even though it’s for the most anger inducing boss who’s guarding a super anti-climactic reward… your soul is filled with determination, & Memories of Splatoon 1’s story mode.*
Last night, I finally decided to take on this boss... 4 straight hours of constantly getting splatted before I finally defeated her. I think it was a good note to end off on with Splatoon 2 before Splatoon 3 arrives Friday
Awesome! I recently got Splatoon 2 and the Octo Expansion over the weekend. Beat the main story, now just going through collecting the Mem Cakes so I can actually experience this music in my own game 😅
This comment hits different with Reimu's last spell theme from CtC next to it in my reccomendations. ALSO LET'S GO FELLOW TOUHOU FAN, THIS COMMENT MADE ME LAUGH WAY TOO HARD LOL
I had this nightmare in my head where agent 3 was only phase ONE of the "hero within you" battle. In this concoction, you had to fight 3 as phase 1, agent 4 as phase 2, Marie (agent 2) as phase 3, Callie (agent 1) as phase 4, and phase 5... the finale... you had to defeat every agent at the SAME TIME. Considering it took me only 5 tries, I don't even like to call it skill, despite me being absurdly good at octo expansion, I think the whole thing was luck of the Irish and the 4am adrenaline rush. And if the nightmare I had became a reality, I can only imagine how many attempts it would take for even the best players to do this.
The reason this song plays during the inner agent 3 fight is because this fight is basically showing how much you have grown since you're first fight with agent 3 on the surface and we find out that after you fall in to the deep-sea metro captain cuttlefish says "any fan of the squid sisters is a friend of mine" indicating that agent 8 was listening to this song during the battle
This is the fight that turned me into an Octoshot main. So many attempts in this fight where it forced me to use it made me a lot more proficient with that weapon type.
i wonder if there'll be a superboss in splatoon 3 dlc that'll be super hard like inner agent 3 was... inner agent 4 anyone? although i doubt they'd reuse that idea a 2nd time. though if they do, i don't think i'd be prepared to suffer through it again.
