I think you're onto something! Someone tweeted a few days ago that Splatoon 2 had some official art for the new year back in 2020, which secretly contained an SOS (Save Our Salmons). With that in mind, I think that Grizz definitely has the potential to be the main antagonist!
@@TehZombiiCorporation yes exactly!!! when i saw lil buddy that was the first thing i thought of. also he never explains exactly what he does with the golden eggs
As much as I hate to admit it, the Egg/Chicken Splatfest determined that the Inklings believes that the Egg came before the Chicken, so that Splatfest can definitely be used.
at 7:03 the inkling is also wearing glasses + the viking hat. might mean we're getting cosmetic accessories assuming the glasses + hat isnt just one piece of gear
@@hannahburke7375 this is splatoon we’re talking about the same game where a sea cucumber is a train conductor and straps bombs to peoples backs along with cephalopods that transform into humanoids
the twitter thread actually indicates that splatoon 3 DOES take place after splatoon 1 and 2. in universe, it has been a year and a half since chaos won. because chaos as a concept became more popular following this victory, squids and octos have been moving to places like splatsville en masse.
So the thing about animal statues in the hubs are that they're supposed to reflect an idol's personality. For example, Marina was the tortoise in Inkopolis Square, and Marie was the fox in Inkopolis Plaza. So this means that we'll probably be getting at least one new idol (Though I think we'll be getting a whole new duo) with the personality of a cobra.
I saw a thing about how Nintendo put out a job offer that included renovating old maps, so the returning maps will likely have a more run down, graffitied appearance.
This would be SICK. Imagine the craziness! Kelp Dome but overgrown so much that it's become an artificial kelp forest. Mahi-Mahi Resort but the water's become an unstable sludge that fluctuates way too much. Manta Maria but the boat's been beached and now remains as a shell of various metal scraps and pockets of water pouring in. Ancho-V Games but it's now EA.
Yeah I actually didn’t realise before but there’s no big TVscreen for the stage announcements!! It’ll be interesting what they do for the news mascots replacing pearl and marina.
I still have a grudge against this, we've been calling them Inklings because that's what we're used to, they're really called Squidlings cause since Human Octopi can become Inklings (to be able to turn into liquid) just like Human Squids can, then they're Octolings, and Squidlings.
I still think it’s Vegas because it could very well be the replica one there. Vegas would turn into a desert without ample water being pumped in, which would be cut off in climate crisis...
The idea of a third Splatoon game is exciting, but I'm still excessively worried about whether it'll have a horde mode. These days I almost exclusively play Splatoon 2 for the fish slaughter and the kidnapping of their unborn babies.
Splatsville's hub looks like it's not based on Japanese apartment complexes, but Kowloon, the Walled City. A now demolished city within Hong Kong, it contained 50,000 people within 2.6 Hectares (6.4 acres). It was the most densely populated place on Earth with utterly horrid living conditions and rampant crime. Fitting inspiration for a 'chaotic city.' What is it with Splatoon and being so unexpectedly dark?
Hey, I really love this analysis, but I don’t think the thumbnail has enough circles and arrows so I can’t see every detail. Can you please add more circles and arrows?
The main thing I was looking at is the artwork for the final fest, on chaos's side is octavio. On order's side, tartar. Do I have to explain why I'm mad about my team losing?
@@Drawceress marie & agent 3 are on the side of order, yet they were in the mammalians trailer so i'm hoping that has little to do with the story progression
On the plus side, apartments could serve as trophy and inventory lockers, as well as pause points for configuring friend requests and tracking story mode progress!
6:15 Those aren't ice cream machines, they're espresso machines. The "handle" is actually a portafilter, and it makes sense to use an espresso machine, since they're highly pressurized, and like the last two games, there's some sort of "pressure" in spawning in the spawn point.
8:20. At some points in the trailer, you can see the inkzooka fire in the distance, it fires 3 ink globs that spin in a circular motion. I think the laser beam is actually supposed to be a revamped killer wail.
"i'm bad at trailer breakdowns" no you aren't. ive watched many videos and you've covered up stuff that nobody did. you also get straight to the point, i like his, keep it up!
To the Inkzooka: The picture you have shown while talking about it was most likely another special. You can later see in the Trailer, That instead it fires 3 Big Balls. Can be seen at 9:07
When you die in Splat 3, you actually respawn on the cubes. In ThatSrb2dudes analysis video, he shows a close up on someone spawning on the cube during the battle scene.
The captain of the space ship makes contact with unknown languages and cryptic clues, only to realise it was squid game all along, and he shall never see his beloved monster hunter while under its curse.
The last thing you said “No news!” Actually made my heart rate stop for a second because honestly the news takes too long. If there becomes an option to just skip the news completely I will happy cry 🤣
Wait, I thought Inkpoplis Square was based on Time Square. Tones of flashy billboards, subway underneath, statue of a woman located off its shore (I realize that statue isn't supposed to be the Statue of Liberty, but I think it could still be a reference to it).
I’ve always been of the knowledge that Inkopolis Square took inspiration from Times Square, I mean, look at that curvy billboard, practically identical. I’ve also heard that Splatsville looks a lot like some images of Hong Kong Edit: There’s also a frame in the gameplay trailer, (I’m not sure where, I’ve only seen a still image) that shows a respawn on the flying coffee drones
Guys, search Quarry Bay Hong Kong. The resemblance is uncanny to the plaza at 4:06 Planes even fly/flew right over Quarry Bay just like in the video. Hong Kong is also incredibly noisy, chaotic (especially the past few years with civil unrest), far from Toyko - about a 4 hour flight - and HOT. AC in the windows is a must. Macau is also nearby and has a replica Eiffel Tower. Source: Me. I've lived in Asia since 2005 and have travelled all over Asia.
look *closely* at 1:49 (it lasts 1 second) The left tentacle of the Inkling is "blurred". I assume this is something hidden (masked) behind the salmonid and they aren't ready to show yet or is potentially a spoiler. It's not much, but I can't be the only one who noticed it. It becomes hard not to notice it once you've seen it.
When captain astronaut talked about spawn camping I really felt that there is nothing worse than being spawn camped/kept at spawn by a roller ninja or a tenta missile spammer
If you look at the inkzooka as you call it, the shots coming from it are 3 large spiraling blobs of ink which splash on impact. It also looks like you only have three shots, as there are three capsules on the side and you see one of them fall off after the yellow inkling shoots her last shot at 9:55. The multiple laser blasts are coming from a completely different special weapon that may be a different version of the sting ray.
I think the new portable spawn points are actually based off of espresso machines! It looks like the black handle bit with a yellow end on the handle and two little spouts coming out of the part where it meets the rest of the machine is a portafilter attached to the espresso machine, and with a pressure gauge to the left of it, and the red bit on the front near the top is probably where all the buttons are, for if you want to do say, 1 or 2 shots of espresso. It looks like there's even a little lip underneath the portafilter where extra liquid would drain into!
I promise you, this game is going to have incredible amounts of content. I would like it if they made masks, goggles, and hats 3 different gear slots. Salmonids are not our enemy, we are their enemy. I predict that Splatsville will be VERY big, and have a large amount of area to explore. I think it will likely be incredibly interactive and contain multiple blocks worth of area. This wouldnt be a surprise since the story mode became way more popular after Octoexpand. Love the Dynamo Steampunk look is OP. Please bring dual squelcher back.
I agree with this. To add to it, the Rainmaker and Inkzooka were functionally similar in Splatoon 1, and the Splatoon 3 Inkzooka will probably work like the Splatoon 2 Rainmaker, if that makes sense.
The inkzooka special and the speaker lasers special aren’t related 😂 the lasers are shown in the multiplayer footage when the camera is spinning around the battlefield. Otherwise, great analysis!
theres been some clips that were really zoomed into the background that showed that the characters respawned on the icecream machine, and the inkzooka is the 3 ink blobs that u can see after the blaster octo swam up the wall and bodied someone on the tower, while the crab special is speculated to be the 6 spaghetti noodles that looked like lasers going across the map
The crab has clearly 3 shooting nozzles on it How people just assume all those foating speakers would come out of it is mind boggling... why would you need a crab to do that?
@@lunarkomet idk nintendo tweeted there was a new special with the crab and the spaghetti noodles pictured together they could be seperate but they might be the same special aswell
I really hope that there will be a Glass wear/ accessory and headwear gear option instead of just headwear. I did see a character wearing both glasses and a Viking helmet that are stylistically very different but it is still very likely that for some reason that gear piece is both a helm and glasses. Like they could have it where you either can equip a hat, an accessory with normal gear slots, or wear both with one giving the perks while the other is purely cosmetic. Also in the distance we can see someone respanwing using the new respawn pods
I can't wait for this game. Due to circumstances I wasn't able to participate in ANY of the splatfests in both splatoon 1 and 2 because I didn't own a wii U or a switch at the appropriate times. I'm definitely not gonna miss this one.
Nice vid Captain! I love this vid and cant wait for Splatoon 3! I like your jokes in this vid, and maybe in Splatoon 3 the Hero mode is that the enemies arent the Octolings but the Salmonid, and that they need more power and steal the Great Zapfish. And maybe they abandon the Smallfry since they are weak
That bass playing seems to get better in every video. Also, I'm pretty sure the spawner is an espresso machine instead of an ice cream maker. It makes sense to me because the normal spawn points and these new ones both make steam.
I believe Inkopolis Square is also loosely based on Times Square in NYC, so I feel like Splatsville might take inspo from a different city altogether (especially since Splatsville is said to be ‘far away’ from Inkopolis) :P
GUYS GUYS. Hear me out. Splatoon 1 had only single shot weapons. splatoon 2 had the Dualies, a two shot weapon. It would only make sense that splatoon 3 has a three shot weapon. And as we know, the splat bow exists
8:19 The lasers come from the lil craby dude The ikzooka mk2 shoots 3 big ink blobs. Edit: the “ink bow” shoots once every second that srb2 dude speculates it will be a 2 shot kill
I genuinely think Grizz will be the antagonist this time around! In the trailer for story mode, the octarians (and when revealed, the enemy octolings) all had fur. However near the end of the story mode trailer when we saw DJ Octavio in that giant mech thing with arms and legs, he did NOT have fur. Plus near the end we heard the grizzco sound so like
About spawning in... If you look closer, the original respawn pad on the ground looks like its covered over with a tarp that would prevent inklings and octolings from respawning on it, but it still might be used as a way to superjump back to base as well as have the shield there as well
Splatville is probably based of kawloon walled city in Hong kong, known as the city of anarchy/darkness Also, in the train, there's a new song. Possibly a tease on a new band or the idols??? And in the town, we see a scooter, maybe it's rideable and there's a new mode involving it??
I hope not all of the stages are out in the desert. I really like the look of the city and i hope we get a few stages within it as well...speaking of the city, I've seen a lot of people compare it to Hong Kong, with the way the buildings look and especially the low flying planes
Ok so i just wanted to point out that later in the footage the inkzooka fires out 3 orb shots across the map and not the killer wail like special Edit: it is shown during the squid surge footage 9:06
I have noticed something that I believe is rather important. The jellyfish with the long necks are around the plaza, which in splatoon 2 were only seen on the train in the deep sea metro. So it's very possible that we could see iso padre and C.Q. cumber again.
I'm mainly hoping that Splatoon 3's gonna have Callie be the mentor to a male Agent 5 since both her and male Inklings have been badly underrated for so long. And if Octavio's back, I wanna see her help stop him again alongside the player. Besides, stealing the Great Zapfish from Inkopolis twice was one thing, but kidnapping, brainwashing, and enslaving Callie made it VERY personal to her.
If we *are* to get an apartment feature in Splat3, I don't really know what the feature could be for...but I guess I have a few ideas? -Minigames. Remember "Squid Jump"? Maaaaaybe that could be a thing on the player's laptop or...whatever they'll use to play it. -SplatNet could also work! There could be a laptop in the apartment to or (or maybe even s e l l clothes). -Jobs...? Again, I don't really know, but *maybe* the player could apply for different jobs. Possibly...a new version of Salmon Run, or that other Salmon Run-esque concept with sharks! I'm not too sure... -Look, I dunno if this feature would stay in the game for a y e a r before Nintendo got rid of it...but what about some sort of chat or hangout feature? You could invite friends to come to the apartment and do whatever (...the good kind of "whatever")
One think that I've seen noted about "Little Buddy" is that it's visually different from the small fry we've seen previously, with most of its colors muted and its nose lacking the usual pink coloring we've seen. Given how the life cycle and biology of salmons ties into salmonids, it's possible that Little Buddy is in a less-aggressive "non-spawning" phase.
Actually you only spawn in the air. Not ever in the spawner because it is broken because it is covered in ink and has no pressure. Also there is footage showing a person on the blue team spawn in the air spawner.
I think the Splatsville looks like Hong Kong Kowloon City in 1970s (the airplane is close to the residential area due to KaiTak airport) instead of Tokyo residential area.
My theory about the dessert while u are in the customization of character:the single player trailer is out,and in a small sprite of the trailer u can see, lots of water in the ground,a inkling boy hanging in a tree because the of water, and eifeel tower literaly becomes upside down,i think is a replica,in my theory,in the final evolution of the squid and octolings(they were still in peace)because of the water raising, the great turf war blah blah blha ya all know that, when inklings won,a few years not ago,the desert started to dry,the dessert was a place with grass and nature thingy and with all that water, the dessert started to dry, them it became a fully dessert, and is now splatlands
