Misconception, this will be the last SALMON RUN map added, they said we will have updates for at least 2 years, so next season is most likely the last one.
@@_Serial_Something_ I've found the updates to be satisfactory, I think I prefer the seasons over the weekly drops from Splatoon 2, but I'm not sure. The only thing I think needs major improvements in the next game (assuming the direction remains the same) are the weapons kits, we need more of them and better people making them. The current team has NOT been cooking.
Is that how little dev cycle we have left? Jesus. I remember how long they managed to keep splat2 alive for with the Sheldon’s catalog of extra items and splatfest reruns until about mid 2020, so maybe we’ll be eating good for a little while longer.
Splatoon 2 was promised 1 year of updates. But that got extended due to popularity. It's possible Splatoon 3 could end up the same way. Just gotta wait.
Splat 2 had its content extended since it was still alive during 2019, during the pandemic, but still even if splat3 finishes it's content updates, there's still a lot to do with the game, play ranks, max lv for battle cards, buy all the grizzco items, better timespeeds for story mode, side order nonstop...
They did it with Splatoon 2. It was only 2 years of updates. And that was being extended from the promised 1 year of updates for that game. Splatoon 3 may get an extension but it's anyone's guess. Just have to wait and see.
Knowing Nintendo they’ll probably extend content release because it’s doing so well and they’re adding all these new features, why would they add fizzbangs only to have like 3 more splatfests
Not to be rude, but this sounds a tad like someone spoiled. One of my other absolute favorite shooters, Garden Warfare 1, only got a years worth of support, but it was an amazing year with tons of updates, for a game it wasn’t even sure would do well at first. I was honestly surprised when I heard that Splatoon 3 was promising 2 years of updates right out of the gate, before it even hit shelves. I would really love to see even more updates for this game and other online multiplayer games in the future, but the fact they promised two years without knowing of it would sell well is already a commendable start, and we gotta keep our expectations realistic going forward. Not to say that they couldn’t easily keep updating it, but to just remember how they are going to continue from their money making perspective.
it was never confirmed they're ending it yet, the ONLY confirmed fact is they're adding the last SALMON RUN map, that's all. the game isn't over, y'all just love to hear one thing and run with it
were you get mistaken? because they really only officially said that the salmon run stage is the last salmon run stage, and with the new map theres only one empty slot left thats likely reserved for the very next season
Maybe you can do more lore stuff and also go back and play side order with dumb challenges like beating the game without upgrading or using a random number generator
Splatoon 3 will most likely get a content extension, Where they add 3rd kits. It doesn’t make sense for them to stop making content for a game this young.
Splatoon 1. As a representative of the gamers who were either A: hellbent on the WiiU, B: too poor for a switch or C: idk we ball. We hunger for splatoon 1 content
I follow a creator called failboat who does Kirby related content, and a lot of it, but he plays other games too. It’s just that Kirby is his thing. You could always do something like that with your news and theories about games you like. Splatoon being your main interest, but covering other things too. I hope this helps :D
bit of a misconception; the game has one last SALMON RUN map being added. there will still be updates for the game. there’s still a few weapons without second kits including the newly announced ones, and the map slots haven’t been completely filled yet.
Challenge runs that get increasingly absurd is probably a good start. Or hell just intrusive thoughts like "How many refills of ink does it take to best the campaigns/dlcs" or other things which I wouldn't know about because I don't have splatoon three.
• I honestly dont know • but I do have a theory that some ppl aren’t really interested in side order or that maybe side order will be one update • either way I hope they have another big run.. and a final splatfest too. (That isn’t some random question that will barely change the game)
They only guaranteed updates for 2 years post launch (same as Splatoon 2). Due to the timing of seasons I wouldn’t be surprised if we got both a sizzle season and a drizzle season 2024 tho. Then final fest in Sept 2024 and after that just balance changes, maybe an occasional splatfest or Sheldon’s picks.
@@zLumiNeonzWhat I’d like them to do is maybe stop doing new stages and major stuff, but port the game to Switch 2, give us an extra year of Splatfests and extra weapon kits. I doubt they’d want to invest a ton of resources in 3 at that point so if they did give us extra fests they’d probably reuse old tricolor stages. Maybe the big runs would just be reruns? On one hand I’d like more support but on the other hand I’m trying to be realistic lol
Technically nintendo said that weve had 2 years of confirmed and guaranteed updates back then, oh and also S2 got extended back then so its pretty likely that well be getting S3 extensions too, just nothing officially confirmed.
I always find it amusing how people think that Splatoon 3 will stop getting updates after 2 years. Splatoon 2 was the same, where it was meant to only ladt around 2 or 3 years, and then the content got extended like crazy. What makes you think that the same wont happen now? My prediction is that Side Order will cause the game to have a resurgence, similar to what Octo Expansion did for Splatoon 2, and then the devs wont want to waste the momentum they got from that, and will extend the updates. In my opinion, that is the most likely outcome.
there was some minor speculation that there could be 4 waves of dlc for the game bc there are 4 colours on the expansion pass. I think that is just me getting my hopes up though lol. Personally I wouldn't mind if they did continue updating the game but as paid content if it were $25aud per year or something not to pricey i would be cool with it if it meant more catalogs
I don’t really know how well Side Order is pulling people into the franchise as much as Octo Expansion did. OE had the benefit of being praised *everywhere* online
Keep making Splatoon videos of you love doing it. Even if everything calms down, there's going to be a steady but fairly active attention for the games a while after no more stuff is released. If you also like other Nintendo games you could dip your toes into content related to those too.
You can just keep playing the game? Just because there's no new content doesn't mean you can't have fun playing the game and people can't enjoy watching you play.
I'm pretty sure updates end after Drizzle season 2024, as that will mark the full 2 years of support that they pledged when S3 launched. The only confirmed content end is the salmon run stage roster.
just because they’re not doing seasonal updates doesn’t mean they’re going to stop supporting it… they kept splatoon 1 up for what, eight years? and that was on a pretty poorly selling console too
Yeah, people act like the end of content means the game’s just going to die. Splatoon 2 was still a great time after its content ended. Hell, I’ll probably just go back to that game after 3 goes EOL.
Arms or Squish would be good games to cover on your channel if you do decide to switch things up. (And before you ask, yes, there is a Nintendo Switch game called Squish)
damn, that kinda sucks that splatoon is nearing the end of its update cycle... I couldn't play much because of school and now i'm starting to regret it.
My advice is to look at the content TF2 creators have been making despite the lack of updates. "Drip or Drown" by samwiz where he rates people's outfits, the Stereotypes series by Soundsmith, Mann's Guide (also by Soundsmith), Bad Weapon Academy, the "How It Feels" series, etc. There are also videos where someone discusses a map: how it plays, it's impact on the game, and its impact on the community. One guy even went so far as to talk about pl_badwater for 12 hours straight! There are many ways to milk content from a game even after the updates stop.
I have 4 switches, we got robbed and my dad put a thing on face book that my switch was taken. And two ppl said they'd buy me one. I got them, but it turned out my real switch was in the kitchen cupboard.
Ok but one little mistake... NO ONE HAS SAID THAT SPLATOON 3 IS ENDING UPDATES????? THEY SAID THAT THEY ARE NOT ADDING MORE SALMON RUN MAPS BUT NOTHING ELSE. People of twitter are just making things
You can make an iceberg video type of splatoon 3 (remember searching lots of information (pls remember to include "the grizzco tapes" an "analog horror series" based off the splatoon 3's "big run" (i think it was called like that) gamemode, if you ever do do that video))
I’m hoping with the final update that they will go out with a big bang and throw in all the stages from the previous games, add more customization options like switching sub weapons for your favorite main (at least for a few of them). Maybe we’ll get 2 new specials too. I really really hope the reason they’ve been holding back is because they planned on giving us something amazing in the end
I honestly would love to see you make variety gaming content. That’s not the worst idea, helps you stand out more. It’s done wonders for RU-vidrs like RTGame
Challenge videos? Theorizing about what could be in a future Splatoon game? Looking at mods? News or content about other Nintendo games or other shooters?
There is so much splatoon lore. Cover the lore, theories and make your own, talk about character dynamics and personalities, back stories. If you're creative write fiction about it and read it here. Show off all the splatoon art there is etc etc.
Considering Side Order just came out, I think the plan is to keep going for at least the rest of the year. If they didn't have any plans for anything beyond the next season, I doubt they would have released this.
As someone who’s been here since Splatoon 1, and got Splatoon 2 after its update cycle, (so I was still hanging around with Splatoon 1 till about 2022) there’s a lot of things that may happen, custom fests will probably start up again, I’d assume we still get challenges after the updates and maybe they’ll be more consistent? Redoing the story mode with challenges, like not using your main weapon, or no damage runs, speed running, getting 4 stars (5 stars if your feeling bold) on every weapon, getting every badge, I’m not sure how the catalogue will work after the updates, maybe it’ll go in a cycle of the same items? I hope that it doesn’t disappear because the catalogue gives something to do when you’re bored! Private Battles streams especially got us through Splatoon 2- minigames, random weapons, tricolor might be put into PB’s, (still wish there were shifty stations…) and the DLC is coming out so there will definitely be a lot to do with that! Believe me, we’ve gone through it all before, we just need to hold out until Splatoon 4 😂
You should just make some videos on all sorts of games! Especially Nintendo to keep it related to Splatoon, whatever content you make I’m sure it will be great :)
I may be a little late to give a suggestion but, what if you make game play content on the first two games? It would have to be the campaign for the first one, but the second one might still have servers up(I don’t really know might have to double check) and gameplay of the story mode and DLC for the second game would be cool to see as well.
