Splatoon is a game that I remember fondly, but with everything surrounding it seemingly working against it, how did this game reach the heights it did?
Welcome to Decidedly Distracted, where I talk about games I enjoy in a semi-professional manner. I wouldn't call these full fledged reviews, but they're certainly made from the heart. I hope you enjoy what comes next, as well as what's here now.

The movement in these games are my favorite thing. It’s smooth as butter and feels so great

I could feel your sanity draining when talking about the final boss, and I found that hilarious. Also, when playing the first and second games back to back, the second FB is underwhelming in an almost funny way. I honestly imagine that 3 only had to fight the DJ once, but 4 had to multiple times, slowly getting more annoyed until they just go up to Callie’s stage on the bot and physically shaking her out of it.

I played the whole campaign of ALL games and the multiplayer in all of them. With the first game, I had a BLAST playing a shooter that held a Nintendo twist (heck, I discovered the game back when game stores had Wii U demo kiosks). The multiplayer, while simple, REALLY made me enjoy playing against other players since it was impossible to get toxic with others, and squidbagging wasn't a thing until the 2nd game The Lore had become extremely rich, and gave us a good reasoning to how marine life gained sentience

Quite fun to see how Nintendo usually play it safe and don't risk it much Yet the moment they got cornered with the Wii U, they just broke the bank and somehow made a completely new IP just completely take the world by storm, even thought everything was pointing it to be a complete failure But then, we got 3 games, two full complete DLC's which are just bangers, and just so many songs out of it (seriously, there are more songs than weapons in the game) And now, 3 games in, and the sheer hype over the final fest and nonstop rumors of the sequel, quite curious to see what will be coming in future

Splatoon 1 needs a remake after Splatoon 3 Grand Festival and Before Nintendo Switch 2 or Next Year (2025 or 2026)😭😭😭😭

At first I called splatoon overrated and didn't actually get interested in it now I'm a splatoon fan for life and the only thing left to seal the deal is buying the original game and all the amiibo that I have missing
