@OCDADVENTURES101 It's a 'deck knife' & usually comes in a leather sheath. There is never a sharp point on a deck knife in case you were to fall on it in rough weather.
I'm probably being a bit thick here but I'm stuck with the very first step. If you pull the core out one end of the rope, surely you're just left with cover at the other end?Or is this done with two separate lengths of rope?
I bought some 5mm of the line. I have the same tools as this gent has and plenty of experience doing splices and there is no way to pull the cover through to start the splice. I have concluded that he is splicing 4mm which must work better. If anybody here can splice 5mm then please let me know how otherwise I am off to buy another brand
