The position of the thumb is totally dependent on the injury your splinting... neutral (position of function) for scaphoid, extended and abducted for Gamekeepers, Adducted and flexed for Dequervains.... @@djhugo8062 actually you can also use the stockinette under when doing splints as well to prevent skin abrasion, itchiness or burning remember the fiver glass also tents to hardened and get hot while using it as splint
i had one a year ago but they didn't put any padding before putting the plaster it was not comfortable at all then they just wrapped it with two things and gave me one to take home all be going in again swelling in wrist hand and thumb painful i even have issues getting comfy in bed or when I'm just sitting I'm annoyed with the pain pain in my wrist and thumb and snuffbox
