This video is meant to showcase cool attention to detail by the developers and what happens when you reach level 4 alarm on a few levels. Stealth non-lethal oriented players like myself will usually not find this, as we do not kill and hate benig spotted, usually reload a checkpoint/quicksave. Thanks again to SamFisher2007 from official /r/splintercell Discord server.

Detail #1 - 1:12 - Sam reacts to the condition of the enviroment (cold, wet, etc.)
Detail #2 - 2:35 - being able to shoot through doors and weak wooden materials (Hokaido is filled with them)
Detail #3 - 2:47 - in most levels, upon reaching a high level of alarms or doing something wrong, Lamert will be angry about the situation. Most sassy comments Fisher would make when there are no alarms, aren't there anymore, and the Intel staff treat him colder than before.

Alarm Stage Level 4 - Encounter #7 - 9:47 - guards hiding in dark places using their uniform's camouflage to blend in
Detail #6 & 7 - 10:35 - proper helmet physics and hitbox (unlike Blacklist, where if you shoot someone in the exposed neck or face, as long as they wear a helmet, need another shot...)

in the Hokkaido mission if you knock out the isolated guy you can hear his friends on his walkie talkies. Also if there are 2 AI talking and you grab the talking one the other guy gets alerted if you grabbed the listening one when the talking guy stops and doesn't get response he will start searching for him

I played the first game by the same principle. Even if it didn't work like that, it felt more realistic to approach it like that. My example is when that guard (Badri) that reported to a Colonel (Bagrat or maybe Grinko) that the landmines are in place, I waited until the second he was finished reporting before dropping him where he stood.

I loved terrorizing these two sleeping soldiers in Battery. If lure them into the warehouse/storage area and would just hang above them whistling, tampering with the lights with the EMP, or firing a camera and emitting that clicking noise. A favorite memory of mine was when I planted a wall mine on the door to that server room at the other end of the storage room. On Level Four or when they fell like they need to kick the door open, they bash the door and explode with the mine. Had a lot of great times with this game.

Chaos Theory is still unrivalled amongst stealth games. Even the sequels could never live up to its greatness. Fingers crossed for great things in the very near future.

ALL1NERD yes very true double agent screwed up in Xbox 360 with really impossibly strict stealth ratings chaos theory gave immense freedom to the player want to go loud do it want to be a ghosts shadow valid

@Никита Исаев Nah. My favorite game in the series is Pandora Tomorrow and even I won't say it is better than Chaos Theory. Fact is Chaos Theory is the BEST Splinter Cell game in terms of mechanics and level design. And the level design in BOTH Versions 1 AND 2 of Double Agent doesn't hold a candle to Chaos Theory's level design.

Best part about this level: Finding the secret gold bar and yeeting it with pin point accuracy into the face of the guard in the courtyard outside the window.

I actually make it a self imposed challenge to bring that gold bar all the way to the extraction point. I like to think of it like Sam stealing something for himself. A gold bar of that size should be worth a ton of money. lol

Yep, this is a golden classic. Wish it was a longer game but quality over quantity I guess. I also wish Double Agent wasn’t as buggy on the PC, otherwise it would have been an overall great game and worthy sequel to Chaos Theory.

@@michaelburke7978 Everyone keeps saying the same thing - play Double Agent on Xbox etc…but, I’m a PC gamer - not everyone still has one of these old consoles, lol. The beauty of PC gaming is that is supposed to be the timeless platform, the best place to play both old and new titles.

If you get caught, there is a separate escaping sequence when Sam is having his ass kicked during interrogation and you have to pick the handcuffs to get free. :) I'm not sure, though, if it's the bank mission or some other (last time I played was ~15 years ago).

A neat benefit to the dialogue changing at alarm stage 4, is that all the dialogue is shorter, which means you can do the sequence of opening the vault a little bit faster which is useful for speedrunning. Turtle's dialogue has to finish before you place the charge on door and if you pick quickly, you will actually unlock the vault before he's done. But if you have alarm stage 4, the shorter dialogue finished before you pick the lock which lets you place it slightly earlier in any%.

another funny moment,after Paco finished fixing the door,he ll walk back to the room,while u OCP the light above him,sometimes he would say:Arrgh,shit,Guess i need to fix it 2:),but this dialogue is a little buggy cuz some enemy say the same shit somewhere like the cargo level pantry room and i dunno why

Since I only have Splinter Cell 3D which is Chaos Theory port for 3DS, I was curious how things would go there with four alarms. Was a new experience for me as I avoided any alarms. Surprisingly things did change and guards behave differently. I know this port considered to be not worthy by Chaos Theory purists, but this game works for me, clearly shows why people like CT in the first place and makes me exited for that day, when I finally try either Xbox or PC version. One thing I want to point out. It's strange how guards continue to have their casual dialogs while level 3 alarm was achieved. And it's not 3DS port, as in this video they also casually talk until 4 alarms targets was met. I guess guard's conversation goes like: 1st guard: "Hey, there was an intruder alarmed us three time already. Should we do something about it?". 2nd guard: "Talking about bears in Panama will help us solve this problem.".

@@talktalk2412 Yes you can without doing that, you just climb inside the vent and immediatly go back after triggering the conversation. You can hack the laptop from the hallway Shetlend enters in that room and as long as you won't get spotted you'll get 100% - you can look up my walkthrough on my channel if you want to see how it's done.

I think older games looked better artistically, than newer games. We have all of this technology to make them look realistic, but a lot them look generic and boring to my eyes. Even the menus look the same. And where is the stealth genre these days? There are action games that have stealth, but the stealth plays like it was put in there as an after thought. There's a new Hitman that's out. Seems like it's the last and only stealth franchise around today.

Yep. And it is sad. because IO Interactive, the Hitman developers gave Ubisoft the perfect way to set up a new Splinter Cell game. Loadouts + starting gear + sandboxy levels. I don't understand what they're doing and it makes me quite sad. :(

nope...it is not like dat,in game u could interrupt Paco while hes fixing the door(whistle or other way let him move a little bit),after dat Paco aint no gonna fix the door any more and the system count it as a failed,when u interrogate him he said the door is broken and he cant fix it stuff:)

Awesome and good edited video. In my opinion, this and Conviction are the best in the series. (sorry Pandora Tomorrow D: ) the worst in the series is DA and BL, not because I did not enjoy them, but they have the most uninteresting, buggy, boring content I've played so far in this series. Keep up making vids like this! Hope to see one with PT and Conviction (and SAR too maybe)

Come on man, I can't understand how SC fans are mostly talking bad about DA. The OG version is the only real sequel to Chaos Theory in terms of gameplay mechanics and animations... the soundtrack is fantastic, the mood of that game is awesome too.. The Xbox 360 version for me is not that great though, but it's another developer after all. About Blacklist, for me is not the game itself is all that bad, but the mechanics are totally different, mostly generic in my opinion.

@@BirjloxuBR I love Double Agent's movement how Sam feels like he is an actual human being, that he carries his own weight, for example in Blacklist and Conviction he feels like he is so light and young while he is a 50 year old man.. Sadly, better movement doesn't mean better game, if DA wasn't such a buggy mess on PC, Xbox 360 and PS3,be sure that it would be easily my second favorite SPC game, and that it would actually be walkthroughed on this channel. The crashing on DA PC port doesn't help either. I have yet to play PS2 and GameCube version though.

Splinter Cell Video Game Series PS2 is good but it doesn't have that much strictness in being a double agent it's more splintercell than double agent while the other version was equally splinter cell and double agent but not good execution because of bugs

@@SplinterCellVideoGameSeries hey, about double agent being a buggy mess , I found a wide-screen fix for double agent that also contains extra files to prevent crashing the game and it works For example instead of crashing u get stuck for a second then resumes but can still save and restart without any issues

@ymif oh hell no. Dishonored was and it still IS one of the best games of All tíme. IT Has one the best video game controll, so múch complex and better design, múch more smooth gameplay, more influential story, IT IS múch more originál than chaos Theory in lore and I could continue Why IS dishonored one of the best game ever there. Fór fuck sake i cant even make out things that i dont like in dishonored

Chaos Theory had shitty stealth. Get your head out of your butt if you cannot see that. For instance, getting the captain, you creep by the first guy and your shadow is right on the consoles he is working on. Another is the ledgers. You creep up to the cabinet with a person sitting two feet away and he does not hear a thing or see the shadow from Sam on the floor? There are more examples but the stealth mechanics usually sucked in most of the SC games due to these reasons.
