Yes, park in the shade. I would definitely reach out to on of the accessory companies and seek to demo a full length sunshade. That would definitely help with the overhead situation. If I constantly use my AC, it’s going to deplete my fuel no mater if it’s petrol, diesel or electric a sun shade is about the cheapest way to help, especially if it’s a product demonstration. Also, I use the cars preconditioning facility when I charge at home. The car uses power from my house while it’s plugged in for preconditioning so it doesn’t deplete the range. The YT guy from Arizona got a special tint fitted to his model Y because AZ is hot as balls and he was keeping the car long term. That might be worth a look on a long term vehicle.
