Love, love, love, a Norwegian split-toe shoe. Gorgeous shaped shoes. Thrifted a pair, of almost, brand new, Peal and Co for Brooks Brothers, made by Crockett and Jones, brown hatch-grain Norwegian split toe derbies, for only $9.99. What a find!!! I immediately, conditioned them, put a little dark brown shoe cream on the toe, for a nice toe burnishing effect, and paired them, with a pair of cedar wood shoe trees. My new fav-o-rite casual shoes. Wear them with dark wash blue jeans, and light blue, merino wool sweater, and also pair them with a nice medium blue suit. Jammin' shoes!!!

My father always had hand made to order split toe shoes in grain leathers! He couldn’t deal with suede so the grain made them a bit more casual as well as colours in burgundy and light browns, he couldn’t be bothered with cleaning the tiny perforations on Brogues after polishing, plus the apron added visual interest. My split toes are the EG Cranleigh in both Dark Brown Utah and Mink Suede.

Previously I thought NSTs were hideous, but I've come to appreciate them greatly since getting in to this hobby. I've only got one pair, yeossal thomsons in Burgundy horween hatch, but may expand in to a pair of boots.

All shoes and boots need to be split toe construction. They have the best side profile and even more importantly very comfortable. J. M. Weston and Heschung are two come to mind. Both incidentally French.

Certainly grown on me in the last 12-months to fit in with my current style. That said, I dont own any split toe boots yet (only 2 x shoes). I think the Thorpe or Meermin appeal most, but as I have the C&J Islay, no trigger pulled yet.

I have several pairs of split toe shoes that I like and only one pair of split toe boots (Herring Petworth) that I am not very keen on. I really like the leather which has nice colour variation in shades of burgundy so I'm not sure why I don't like them. It might be the split toe boots have a more elongated toe than I usually go for and I also think it might be that being a boot, the lacing is also further back from the toe emphasising the long toe. Anyway, I have the Loake Anglesey as an alternative with an apron but missing the split toe bit.

Like a soft square last… hence my favorites are the Carmina and G&G. By the way can you share the cost of each?

Prices change all the time you’re best off checking their website. Round numbers the Carmina is about 650 (including customization) and the GG about 2x. Exchange rates and sales offer a significant flux to this but MTO doesn’t go on sale (although MTO fees are sometimes waived) import duty is extra of course but that depends on where you live. I never disclose what I personally pay unless the maker provided them for free. Hope that gives you a guideline.
