What do you guys think of this Vertical Splitter? Better than my push through? Don't Forget to Subscribe!

Elliott tell your friend to redesign his machine so he can use longer hydraulic hoses with couplers so the gas engine is farther away from his work area. It might save his sanity and hearing.

In reality his engine is much further away from the operator than most log splitters...I stand directly next to the engine on my log splitter. Some ear protection solves that issue. You don't want the unit so big you're unable to take it places behind the ATV or Tractor.

Finally i found what im looking for!!!! A homemade ( in this case bought) vertical wood splitter took screen shot of his utube now hopefully he is willing to give a few detailed shots and possibly measurements so i can build my own. I have a few cylinders from a old wheel lift from a wrecker i have a unknown gph hydraulic pump from that old wrecker i have a old road grader blade to make a wedge a metal scrape yard 6 miles away to buy metal from plus i have metal beds from some old flatbed 1 ton trucks i just need some visual aid and measurements and possibly a better welder than me thankfully i know 1 or 3 just have to find a trade for their skills.. visual aid is the biggest thing, like how the foot pedal is connected ( i know there is a chain but how does the leaver return etc...

Sounds like you have most of what you need to get yourself started! I'm sure he wont have any problem answering some questions for you!

I'd take the super loud HF engine and tank right off of it. Put them outside under a box sound enclosure, so you don't piss off the neighbors or your wife / kids, then plumb it with black iron or sch80 pipe to the indoors there with hydraulic connectors. Mount the whole remaining thing to a platform station you build. Then close the doors, put some heat or AC on and listen to some tunes without ear protection. Screw that horrible little engine screaming bloody murder 4' from your face. Nice rig though. Good find.

That would be a great idea, but Cam needs the ability to move the splitter around in the summer. He splits outside in the summer, and in the garage in the winter.

Do you have any specs on the hydraulic pump, engine h.p., and make model of the hydraulic valve? Thanks
@EverythingElliott
@EverythingElliott 11 месяцев назад
Not sure on the hydraulic pump, I Would imagine it’s around a 22gpm pump, the valve is prince, and the motor is a single cylinder harbor freight predator

Its a very nice splitter. How much would you believe it cost to build.
@EverythingElliott
@EverythingElliott 11 месяцев назад
If you were to build it yourself I bet cost of matierals would be around $4,000-5,000

That machine is nice, I think it's better than any other one you can buy at the store! The guy that built it was very good at fab work.

Nice unit! Does great precision…the thing with that bundle wood I don’t get is…you make like a 1000 bucks from a cord, but it takes a long time to get it back from the sales…I just mass produce firewood and sell a couple hundred cords a season, I can deliver and make that same amount of money in a afternoon…quicker return on the time spent, but cost more in product, there’s a market for everything, but I don’t see any money in the bundles for the time expended…if you have unlimited access to logs…I’m just saying…plus a couple hundred cords of split firewood is…BIG! Makes you smile looking at it! Great video!

His intention is to get into a target market with specialty wood for smoking, bbq, pizza ovens. There's another guy we know that sells to a bbq place for $2,000 per cord cut nicely like that. But I agree, for someone like me that just burns any wood no matter the shape, size, or species it isnt ideal.
