For those curious of Arthur’s interaction with the kid, I had a second encounter with him: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HVVPU2AEBQo.html
When this happened to me, when I gave the dog back I didn't even notice he was a abusive owner because I just rode away. When I restart the game for the 158th time I'll make sure he gets what he deserves.
@@AlfredoRodriguez-hz6ti new players don’t know about it so they usually return the doggo and leave instead of sticking around and finding out the truth
It was probably suffering extreme cognitive dissonance from being a Golden retriever in a time when the breed didn't actually exist. And it's a bitch, not a "girl"
@@althea2315 agreed. and you don't even have to point a gun! I used a volatile fire bottle, because its exactly what the little gremlin bastard deserved. and because he's an npc that you can't just shoot... like the gang members.
I found a kid looking for his dog in strawberry. When I brought his dog back to him he was really happy and the dog was too. He said the dog was the closest thing to family he had left. I was reluctant to help him at 1st remembering this video but after helping him and getting a little bit of honour I was glad I had helped him
Rockstar is pretty cool about the details, I could tell something was off with the dog immediately by the way it crawled out of the house and followed John. Not to mention the soft whimpering. They didn’t have to do that but it’s a nice touch for the empathetically keen.
Agreed. Those little details make it all seem real. There's another lost dog encounter in Strawberry. At first, I thought it was just a duplicate of the one in Emerald Ranch, but when I located that dog, it was happy and full of energy. It wasn't hiding, it had just chased a squirrel up a tree and was focused on it, quite the opposite of the other dog. When I took it back to its owner, he was overjoyed, saying the dog is like family and that they're never apart. The dog walks to a nearby stable and lies down in the mud with some barnyard animals. The young man sits down beside him. Arthur is smitten, saying "Now you take good care of her" and "Aww, that's a happy dog."
I was still Arthur when I came across this. I remember I tried to shoot the kid and was really pissed when the game would not let me pull the trigger. :-D
I’m trying desperately to encounter this again in my current playthrough as Arthur, and I cannot trigger it! Just so I can spot differences between Arthur and John. So frustrating
@@furymern8162 First of all, if you can't recognize the sarcasm in what I said, there's something wrong with you. Second, I could debate that people are animals too and there is no reason to prefer one life over the other. If you do, then, again, there might be something seriously wrong with ya.
I just wanted to say thank you to all, for the rising success of this video and my channel. I know it’s not much for some to think to be excited about but it’s very encouraging for me to upload more videos and be more creative with my content going forward. I didn’t think this would be possible but thanks to all of you, it is. From the bottom of my heart thanks. I hope to make more entertaining videos and content for everyone in the future.
Since I don’t have enough subscribers to make a community post, I’ll ask on this comment section. Would it be interesting to make commentary on my videos? I love the entertainment aspect of RU-vid and would like to distract everyone from their busy lives outside this platform, if only but a few minutes at a time, so if anyone would like to see future videos with commentary please let me know or just keep them as is. Thanks to all!
I don’t even really watch these videos, but this one appeared on my recommendations/suggestions as RU-vid’s algorithm can be weird. But from what I can see I think people prefer these kinds of vids without commentary, unless its hilarious things like online gameplay and rages, such as kids being salty.
I dont think it really matters but right now I’d say no cuz a lot of people really get drawn out by commentary cuz there’s a lot of shittie one out there if you’re amazingly good do it if no work on it and one day you’ll make it
Thanks to you as well. I’ll give it a try, I don’t want to come across arrogant or anything so im gonna just stick with what I’m doing now I guess until it comes by demand then I’ll give it a try and see how people react to it
It depends on the video my dude! Something short and sweet like this? No commentary is needed or desired (by most people, I assume) But something longer, like 10+ mins? Commentary might be good so long as there is a point. No commentary play throughs are pretty popular but so are the ones where people role play like they are in the game. Speaking for the character when they otherwise wouldn't. I didn't seek this content out, it was a recommendation, but I will check your content every now and again just to see how you progress. Also in all my time playing, I have never seen this encounter!!
@@RedsDeadBaby Yeah, in the Aztec culture there was many types of underworlds depending on how you died. If you die because of natural causes your spirit have to go to the Mictlán, but to reach that place, your soul had to pass through many "challenges" to purify yourself. The first one and the most important was crossing a river. If you were cruel against dogs, the guardian of the river, the mighty bald dog Xoloitzcuintle wouldn't help you cross and he will let you drown. For that reason, many people were buried with their dogs, to preserve that bound even in death.
@@RedsDeadBaby Not a problem at all dude :) if you are interested, I will leave you this link for more info: www.nationalgeographic.com/adventure/article/140218-aztec-dogs-skeletons-discovery-mexico-archaeology-science#:~:text=Dogs%20were%20important%20symbolically%20in,the%20place%20of%20the%20dead.
@@justsomeguy4260 You really shouldn't be rude, I am a dog lover but I had a cat that I loved and cherished as well. Saying stuff like that is immature and makes you look bad. Respect other people's opinons.
Seeing as the dog is a golden lab, how cool would have been if this was Rufus, and thats how the Marstons got him. All the weary, world beaten, wanderers find each other and start a family in a little piece of paradise.
I really wished we could’ve kept the dog as a pet after rescuing the poor thing from an asshole of a kid. That was something I really wished they added in game, same like with the horses we could gain experience with bonding with dogs or cats and having them as pets.
This game makes the world feel alive in so many ways, totally outclasses cyberpunk. To think there was a time where I hoped cyberpunk would compete in terms of immersion. CDPR got me good...
I’ve tried on four separate occasions to play this game, generally I get through the first hour and by the time I get to the camp I am totally fed up with the game and stop playing it It’s a real shame, it genuinely looks awesome. I cannot push myself through it 😞
Oh man if you could only get past like the first 2 hours you’re in for a real treat! Just give it a go when you have free time and I promise, you certainly won’t regret it
@@HolyReality I’m excited for you man. It’s an experience every gamer should feel at least once in their lifetime. Would like to know what you think about it in the future if it’s no trouble. Or if you remember lol
When this happened to me I started running the guy over while on horseback. The bastard disappeared after 15 minutes. I felt like I needed more time tbh
@@RedsDeadBaby you don't want anyone knowing what you did. You can sit back and watch what happens to the poor bastards that don't know they have a dead cat on their horse.
Wow, I've never encountered this specific dog finding scenario! How sad 😔 but also obligatory "Red Dead Still Surprises Me" comment! [edit] I also really like how you handled it realistically too. Like John wouldn't have just outright killed him so you scared him off with a gunshot! I appreciate you playing true to the character and not just killing the guy! [edit 2] I now realize (after reading down in the comments) that you can't shoot the younger NPCs in the game so you couldn't make the choice anyways. I failed to realize this is a kid LMAO Only kid you ever see really is Jack, so I just assume that most every NPC is an adult because of the whole choice of "lack of children because people would kill them".
I have the highest respect for all animals and always treat them with kindness. If I run into anyone mistreating animals whether it’s stray or domestic I’m gonna teach people not to be rude to them such as (Please treat animals with respect) (You have no right to harass that animal!) (Knock it off!) animal abuse is illegal (Hey stop that!) This animal did nothing wrong and deserves happiness (That’s enough!!) quit mistreating that animal and run away right now (You don’t deserve to have a pet!) (Leave that animal alone) or I’ll break your fingers!
There one kid in strawberry who is also looking for his dog, if you help him find his dog you'll see that he is very kind to his dog and he even says he's missed his dog.
"Can you help me look for her? Great! I'll be under that big tree just outside of town when you find her." Thanks for helping me look for your dog, mate.
@@RedsDeadBaby its actually the most moral choice--think about it: it puts the dog put of its misery and shocks the kid. later he'll realize how much he misses the dog and will regret having mistreated it. lesson learned
