The *BEST* version of "Shut up, Wesley"! The only one that Wil would actually love. Especially given how strained his relationship was with his real mother, and how much better he was treated by his Space Mom. You hear that pain in his voice here. That waver in his voice as he says "I'm here, Mom". Absolutely shatters my heart. The longing for real acceptance, which only his Trek family truly gave him in his youth. The unflinching acceptance of Beverly's implication of "I don't care where you've been, or why you've been gone, I'M JUST HAPPY YOU'RE HERE!" Absolutely beautiful.
@@crimsoncrusader4829 not if there’s a 20 year time jump. You notice that Jack was only a baby when Wesley met him and he’s 22 years old and Star Trek Picard season three.

now we know why wes was not in picard season 3 he met his brother allready.
@@pderham26I feel like this episode was made to address that plot hole because everyone wanted Wesley to meet his brother. Also this show takes place right before Picard retires.
@@diosnelfrica590 Yeah that wasn't a major complaint about S3. I never heard or saw anyone say that. It's not necessary and is even a bit strange to want given what happened in S3
I don't have Netflix but I heard about Wesley's presence in this season. It was great to see him have a little reunion with Beverly. I hope he'll pop up again in a live action production somewhere.
We knew that it wouldn't be permanent: she's mentioned a few times in Picard. Raffi stalked Janeway about her conspiracy theories and Ro Laren tried to go to her for help with the Changelings.
@@toysmostwantedI imagine Molly stayed with Mark, given the seven years he was minding her... She may have lived long enough to see Kathryn return home - maybe she could claim one of Molly's grandkids as her own (Molly was pregnant when Janeway was pulled into the Delta Quadrant)?
"Kids" cartoons have gotten all the best writing of both franchises. Yet they keep fighting tooth and nail to get renewed. It's the fact that this was all already pretty much done but paramount and nickelodeon still canceled it and Netflix had to pick it up.
To be honest, very honest, no. It has action and entertaining moments, but it doesn't become as serious as Clone Wars from Season 3 onwards. That was a war-themed show with politics; here it's more about the crew and the journey
@@carlosdavidsabogalmotta4327 But Star Trek and Star Wars are 2 different franchises, Star Wars is about war and Star Trek is about crews exploring the galaxy.
I love how they made Wesley Star Trek’s version of Doctor Who. Now if only they have an episode with Wesley and Daniels/Kovic during the Temporal Wars.
@@DJParticle I understand but there were two barks as she was looking at her villa (chateau? castle?). If not Molly, at least show us her new ones. Bonus if it's the same dog Q gave her but when she didn't accept, instead of Q willing it to non-existence, he just transported it and left it on Mark's doorstep.
Still to this day confounds me they went with another person originally. Geneviève Bujold was the original one… but let’s just say Mulgrew fits better.
It will directly tie in with the Picard timeline as later in this episode the Attack on Mars occurs (off screen) and basically all out of service Starfleet officers are re-enlisted so, essentially, Janeway's retirement never really happens as she is forced back into service.
I think it was the scene with picard and ro in the holodeck bar and her suspicion of a conspiracy. And the first contact day event. He says why nit go to admiral janway ( herself *) . I think starfleet has a cnc ( commander in chief) and a chief of staff. ( 5 star admirals) shelby was a 5 star admiral. But janway would be more senior than her ( I think)
@@shanenolan5625 I think that she's only 4 star. Janeway I mean. But one thing that would cause them both to want to go to her is she's trustworthy and would hear them out. Raffi stalked her for the exact same reason.
I've seen Beverly Crusher with silver hair and I saw the picture of her earlier but I could not tell that was supposed to be Beverly Crusher until I heard her voice.
Sad to see Admiral Janeway retire. Next to Picard, she was one of my favorite captains. It's great that Prodigy gave us the opportunity to see the conclusion to Janeway's story which dates all the way to the first episode of Star Trek Voyager nearly 30 years ago.
I always thought Voyager should have had a movie. I even wrote a script in highschool for a Voyager movie involving a plot around a Voyager jr officer. Seeing how their experiences were more traumatic than janeways. It would be a good revenge movie where the jr officer was left behind by janeway and also showing various conflicts between the jr officer and the main crew. The movie would take place after Voyager is back in the alpha quadrant. The jr officer would make it back to earth and start taking revenge on janeway for leaving him and stranding them in the delta quadrant. Also harry kim would have a scene where he FINALLY GETS PROMOTED TO LT.
@@BurningFlamesofDivineDragon her daughter was bullying me and when I told my parents and they made the school aware she got in school suspension. After that her mother that was also my science teacher went out of her way to make the hour of her class feel like torture. So that's why...very unfair and sad.
Jack's timeline makes no sense in general, but maybe Wes took him on some time travel adventures growing up and that's why he's way older than he should be.
0:40 anybody notice the Andorian in the background seems to be wearing the updated admiral uniforms? 2:01 shouldn’t Chakotay uniform be a standard uniform without the gold piping? Gold piping is meant for the admiralty. Technically if it take place right before Star Trek Picard Season 1 then everyone is wearing the incorrect uniforms expect for the Admirals at the end. Why is Beverly Crusher hair is shorter though?
The explanation for the different uniforms is simple. Starfleet was in the process of transitioning between the old and the new. Ships and crew that were on far away assignments would be the last to receive the new uniforms.
It takes place about 15 years before Picard season 1. I think PRO season 1 is 2383, and season 2 straddles '84 and 5. The synth attack happens in '85, on First Contact Day.
About the uniform, yes I noticed right away. Actually they transition to this uniform style in this episode with Janeway wearing the same look as Picard in later scenes. Although they mention that they don’t have enough resources for the remaining fleet to be decked out in new things like new communicators because of the synth attack (an explanation I find rather weak, to be honest).
Plot Hole, Although they returned the Protostar to it's rightful time and place, Gwyn's father based on the new timeline, would not travel back in time in search of the Protostar and thus Gwyn in her current state would not be born, because Solum did not have the Civil War that sends her father back in time.
I thought that as well, but they covered that. Through the worm hole was an alternate reality. They had to get the protostar back so everything happens in THAT time line, leading to them ending up at Star Fleet academy. They weave it into the “Did you read the temporal mechanics 101?” I LOVE this show and have seen the second season three times already. I don’t want it to be done dirty like f’n Paramount. I’ll let it run full time if I have to.
@user-oi9lk1rx1i FYI it's some of the best Star Trek of the modern era, and given how much the modern era has been improving lately, that's actually saying something. It's rough at first, but when it finds its groove it's bloody great.
Star Trek Prodigy. It's a truly incredible show. The first season brings back Janeway and the second brings back Janeway, Chakotay, The Doctor and Wesley Crusher.
I'm nitpicking, but Dr Crusher's hair shouldn't be so gray. This is only a few years after Nemesis, where it was still ginger. It does annoy me that characters in Star Trek age as fast they do in real life. So by Picard S3 Crusher and nearly all TNG characters are totally grey. Worf definitely shouldn't be as Klingons live even longer than humans. Troi is the only one who didn't change much and still has dark hair. I know the actors (in live action ST) will age that fast obviously, but people are supposed to be living twice as long in the ST future. e.g. Dr. McCoy being 137 and active and potentially living longer. So, either set the ages of the character higher than the actor's ages (this was case of Picard / Stewart) or make a season cover longer than one year.
that romance was unpopular both at the time of airing amongst fans and even between the actors themselves. It quickly went the route of the Deanna/Worf romance for a reason.
