Social media is going to ruin this generation. Buying a bunch of properties without seeking the opinion of a Financial advisor, is just dumb. I started investing on my own, but the market was tough. I hired a financial advisor, despite initial skepticism, and we've grown my portfolio to seven figures in five years.
FYI, I watched an interview with Warren Buffet. He was asked about buying GE. All of it, and taking it private. He voiced 2 reasons he wouldn't but did consider buying GE. 1. For every employee they have, they are paying 2.5 employees in retirement. 2.5 to 1 effectively on payroll vs revenue producing employees. 2. The complexity of their company, not being verticle, contracts with thousands of other companies. The first has no ethical solutions and no reasonable financial solution. The second is theoretically possible, but not feasable in a reasonable timeframe.
One being Space Angel with integral solar as shade and power for Optimus to work untethered from a main charge source. This solar panel could be hived at end of projects and battery used as base load storage in down time between projects.
@@christopherfry2844part of the issue with simply selling them, if they turn out to be as useful as is hoped, these will likely have a realized actual value of 0.5-2M over a 10 year period, probably more for 20h up time. no way I would sell something for 20k, that costs me 10k to make, I would be charging 100k because people will pay the money (demand), especially at the start if they are the only offering for a humanoid form factor
This seems like the worst period. Even the market are now very unpredictable. Started investing recently when the market prices were a bit high,today I am more than 60% down!

If they do go forward with a high-density urban van, which seems likely, it has the side benefit of also being a contractor/shipping van, like a Ford Transit.
Betting on Elon pays well, even best. It worked for his cousins in 2006 starting a solar roof panel business too. They believed in Elon and the master plan. I suppose I'm a true believer too. Get $TSLA and HODL!
It’s pretty shortsighted that some people assume the first Mars colonists will die from lack of oxygen. Robots will probably be working on Mars for years or decades to get the colony ready for the first humans. Lots of other places can probably be made habitable in the same manner.

Master plan Step #4 in 2006 said "provide zero emission electric power generation options". Clearly in 2016 when Tesla bought SolarCity, it was just an effort to help some friends or family (I forget the exact accused motivations) and not make sure that one of the four primary steps of the 2006 master plan 10 years earlier didn't fail. With hindsight, we can see how big the energy side of things has gotten and Elon is projecting that it will eclipse the automotive sales (not including auto autonomy revenue).

Energy is the core. Compute and bots need power, will the AI in Cars n bots solve the energy supply issue? A distributed computer solution in finding new battery storage and cheap fusion?
Elon definitely deserves monetary comp for the next book of Tesla. But getting him to 25% influence, I believe, could be partially achieved through a special class of shares that has no monetary value, but has voting rights. It's very important that he can be the steward of AI in Tesla, even if some audacious performance goals are not met.
Solar roof (tiles), not panels, is incredibly expensive and doesn't have a worthwhile ROI. Solar roof is an architectural statement that also produces electricity. Solar panels (along with inverters) do have an ROI. There is too much labor in the roofing business, and it is dangerous. A perfect application for Optimus. I am my own utility. When you include an EV, the payback is handsome!

I think the velocity of money might increase as the magnitude multiplies. Hopefully CASH FLOW increases and ASSETS increase, manufacturing and productivity scales, regulations are modified with Ai, costs of energy and labor go down… I retire at 70 a multimillionaire and grow poppies, peonies and roses, maybe dahlias.
The Tesla Roadster was the first car they ever built. It was a modified Lotus. You are thinking of the second gen Roadster, which has not been made yet. Those plans were made back when Elon was still vastly underestimating how much time and resources would be required to develop autonomy. I'm sure they will build it eventually, but when exactly is anyone's guess...
True. Mainly because it is highly labor intensive and competitive. But the energy storage business is ramping quickly, and will be huge fairly soon. Grid level storage is a huge and lucrative market. Tesla is poised to be a major player. I predict that the energy storage business will be more profitable than the car business (excluding FSD) within 5yrs, possibly sooner...

@@darylfoster6133 not for travel vans. The 500 mile standard range will be needed to handle the additional weight of the build out. Basically talking tiny home on a van platform. Typical use is to drive into the middle of nowhere and get back. Yes, most applications dont need 500+ range, but for travel van builds it is going to be desirable. @@williamcrowley5506 CATL batteries or not, it would take an enormous pack to go 500 miles with that much weight. That's the problem with huge batteries, they have to pull themselves. Based on what's in the CT, 500 miles range would require a minimum pack of 150 kwh. Also, the number of people who are going to drive out into the Utah desert, or wherever else, is so small, it's not worth Tesla's resources to develop it.

Yeah, it'll be all about autonomous vehicles, robots & machinery. Advances in AI have completely pushed the realization of all that 10x sooner. We're on the eve of an absolute societal change (for better or for worse).
hyperabundance? well, the way capitalism is configured, companies generally make life "easier" and more "comfortable," but to achieve this comfort, people have to work longer, and instead of one person working, both people work, and kids don't get enough bonding with family, etc. just think back, how easy it was in 50s vs. today to make a living. the companies benefit. primary beneficiary of automation will be companies. that is how capitalism works. the only formula for success today is to eek out some savings and invest in companies.....

Naah. The time for Tesla had passed. Not in the sense that they won't continue to grow as a business, but from the stock market perspective. At best, if the energy storage business works out well, Tesla could end up at a 1.5 T market cap by 2030. The robot thing, while cool, it's a total gamble.
