Yes!!! Just wish that would have been his approach when he met JarJar Binks. Retrospect. All the recent books on Quigon are essential reading, to me, if you want to see what it means to follow the force. All Jedi have different paths, Quigon's is a prime model. Please read about his apprenticeship in Dukoo's book as well. It's important to his path.

QuiGon is definitely built different, he was grandmaster material!

Nice review. Couple of things to note. I've noticed that we bring our perceptions from one situation into another. A lot of people see Quigon as adversarial to the council. (That would be part of the reason for this book.) You said, "Yoda disagreed with Quigon." The book actually reveals, once tge events are over, that sending the council to this outpost was Quigon's and Yoda's idea all along. With the same imposing mindset you said you don't see Mace giving his lightsaber to Deppa? So, he can be deeply concerned about her safety, almost to the point of interfering with her mission, but he wouldn't lend her his lightsaber if she needed it?? Come on, no master is that stiff. And he's second to Yoda on the council! Surely,.... This is another good book that solidifies Quigon's importance to a true Jedi. I wish they would do a story where he advises Luke. Maybe even Rey. Quick note: Quigon, after his back and forth with Yoda in, "Master and Apprentice", about slavery and Yoda not voting for him to join the council, told Obiwan, "NEVER UNDERESTIMATE MASTER YODA." This book should be part of "The Essential Quigon Jinn Collection."

Thank you so much for the input, it it truly is invaluable! I wanna note that my videos aren't scripted, so if I mis-speak I'm really grateful when someone points it out. When I said "Yoda disagreed with Qui-Gon", I suppose I'm speaking in a really general sense that Qui-Gon adapts his actions to what's happening immediately in the moment for the best possible outcome. Yoda, in my mind, would likely call this impulsive. Qui-Gon would call it communicating with the living force. In the end though, Yoda absolutely agreed that it was a good thing for them to be challenged in this way, and I might even say he liked the idea when it was presented, he maybe just didn't immediately know how to apply it until it was discussed out in the open. Now with Mace, of course he has concern for his former padawan and a sitting member on the council, but from my point of view I would see it incredibly difficult for Mace to allow someone else, even someone that close to him, to take and utilize "his life" as many Jedi view it. The weapon is very much attached to its original user. Adding to that, it was a decision to follow through with a plan that Depa had, not necessarily because her life was in immediate danger, not like tossing someone your lightsaber when they're locked in battle to give them the upper hand. That's what I was thinking in terms of Mace's character. I completely agree that not only is Qui-Gon such a valuable member to the Jedi, and would've been to the council, but that this book definitely belongs in a category defining him. He was absolutely right to say never underestimate Yoda, because although they have very differing world views, Yoda always listens and reflects. Thanks so much for the contribution!

@@TheForceFeedYT You're underestimating Yoda. "Attachment leads to the dark side." 😄 (Mace and his lightsaber.) I.e., Ahsoka didn't have her lightsaber when she captured Maul. Or when she defeated the Inquisitor in "Tales...Jedi." Barriss bested Lynn, the Inquisitor, in "Tales...Empire". "Your lightsaber is your life." Is part of teaching to Padawans. A lightsaber to a Jedi is as important to a Jedi as a sword to a knight. But a Jedi is more than an ordinary knight. With the force everything around him is available for use. Even, in the previous stated examples, precognition (with no lightsaber).

Hmmm so why did Depa need one to defeat Zilastra? 🤔 Just playing devils advocate, but I like the challenge 😁
