Tight script, good directing, solid acting. This show really achieved what it was going for. Feels like every new show is trying to be the next ‘thing’ that people get hyped for. It’s refreshing to see a show that just focused on telling the story it wanted to tell.
@@PuppetierMaster It's actually kinda common. I'm from Southern Ohio and sometimes I have a drawl and sometimes I don't. Depends on how my emotions are.
@@alanplays2881 understandable, however, in the shower scene none of the things that happened were suppose to be in the show/script so idk what she was thinking.
I love how the kiddo said, why are you so big? : Jack genetics 🧬 then proceeds to hand the kiddo a beignet. I absolutely love beignets, if you don’t your missing out!
@will Derby no, he is not. He is shorter (1.88 vs 1.96 in the books), 188 cm is not that huge and yet people react like it's a walking mountain...I'm 200 cm and 105 kg and I don't get such reactions. Google Martyn Ford (203 cm, 140 kg) and you'll see the kind of person who'd actually attract all that attention. Don't get me wrong, I love the actor, I LOVE the remake, over Cruise's movies, but the "omg he's so huge" reactions are forced as hell.
@@denisfarhat4415 I think you just don't notice it, because someone 6'6" and 240-250 lbs would definitely get that reaction from me and I'm fairly tall myself.
@will Derby I flew back to New Zealand from England with the the English Rugby team on board. I asked 2 of the lads for a pic. They obliged. Polite well spoken F* huge units. I'm 6ft2 and 105kg. These chaps were easy 6ft4 and 115 kg of ONLY MUSCLE. I felt small. Lee Childs got it right on man.
The cows are dairy cows, specifically Friesians, that are bulk milk producing cows, they require milking twice a day and respond best to fresh pasture as seen in the scene where Reacher talks to the tame cow. Supplemental feed probably not required at this time.
Holstein-Friesians I believe is the full name. In New Zealand we just call them Freisians, apologies for missing out your home state. No offence intended
Clue trails like this are one of my fave parts of another set of book series by Matthew Reilly. He loves to leave tiny breadcrumb hints like a lot of cow feed right there from the start in front of both the heroes and the reader. A name in a list, a time that seemingly means nothing for 98% of the book. But when that final piece slots in and you realize you had the info you needed all along... no feeling like it in the world. So I adored watching Reacher continue tugging at that odd string no matter how annoyed it made the people around him.
I guess that was the whole point of this story, but probably a truism that the folks willing to overlook the part that doesn't make sense maybe not going to be good investigators. Kinda sad that as a cop she wasn't more interested in there being a lot of feed tbh.
That is a lot. My grandma had a few cows but that amount seems way overboard for animals while there's still grass growing. Also lot of scary guys moving the feed.....
I agree…his humor cracks me up. “I can kill you with one phone” hahaha I absolutely love him as Reacher!! The entire cast was perfect. Have to mention Jasper too!! He was too funny 😂
If somebody was doing a big cow operation, they wouldn't order their feed In little bags like that, they would order them in the 1 ton giant sacks just like me and my friend do for our pig operation!
The blue face hundreds kind of kills this plot. But the real plot twist is that animal feed is not real food. And why would anyone that keeps grazing cows need cow feed, and more importantly, why would cow feed contain the same ingredients they put in pesticides,, and why is reacher not interested in the poisoning of our food supply or the water supply!more then he is about paper, since reacher obviously eats allot of beef… and the hardest part about fake money isn’t the paper, it isn’t the press print, it isn’t the security features, it’s the ink.
This man needs a real movie written with him in mind. It would be a shame to waste that body. We need an androgen hyping movie like the old Daniel Craig movies.
Well nobody with a hundred head would buy feed by the bag either. You would be paying for useless packaging. Bulk operation would buy in bulk as in a feed truck with an auger to put it in a silo. Just sayin.
You also wouldnt feed cattle cubes to dairy cows generally , nor would you feed it straight to any cattle normally , usually just for supplemental feeding as needed , theres also no point in buying cubes for the tiny amount of diatomaceous earth they contain when you can just buy straight diatomaceous earth either bagged or bulk
Or, the bad guy could have had a swimming pool and just bought pure diatomaceous earth for the pool filters. Way simpler than maintaining cows and using cattle feed with low percentage D.E..
Read all the books as they came out..Great stories. Not just that Tom Cruise is tiny compared to Reacher character but he's a twit in attitude and Reacher is well Reacher..complete opposites..Roscoe on screen seems scripted tough and not very believable.
Except: diatomicious earth is not animal feed. Not even in the tiniest amount. Therefore this was not a documentary. Just like Startrek, Moomins, Spiderman, Simpsons etc. Sigh.
@@harunskywalker4942 Why do shows portray figments of people's imagination as real people? I am sure people are aware that this is a man acting and Reacher doesn't exist. What was the point of your comment?
I remember reading the book and when Lee Child revealed how the counterfeiters got their paper I thought it was brilliant. Too bad Joe had to exit so soon from the series. Jack and Joe might have made a great team.
I really feel the "why are you so big" my close friend is 6 foot 8 and I've seen him throw a steel gerter over his shoulder for fun. After 10 years of friendship I still look at him and ask "homie how TF you so damn big"
What better way to hide your misdeeds than to do so in a way that no one thinks twice about it, like getting ingredients for bleaching dollar bills from animal feed and nobody's gonna inquire because your farm has a herd of dairy cows?
@@DivineFalcon I was thinking "Murder She Wrote" on testosterone (and steroids). (seriously, I've read a few of the books, including the one the first season was based and do enjoy them)
**Love His Hard-Core Demeanor** The Way He Handles Every Situation With No Mercy, Because He Deeply Senses Their **Killer Perception** Toward Him. **Jack Reacher** Is Out For **Justice** To **Be Served** And **Not Slurred**
See, I didn't know that, and I am an average Joe, and like any other average Joe, I don't think most people would have batted an eye at whether it was in dump trucks or bags, but I imagine bags are more convenient for the counterfeiting operation.
@@BeHappyTo that's why they had the cattle, so they could order that much and not raise suspicion, all while staying just under the limit before they'd be subject to state mandated inspections.
I just watched this on prime. I like the Reacher character.. He's unforgiving and very capable of taking out the trash. He reminds me of Alejandro character from Sicario. No mercy expected, none given.
Ugh this is soooo annoyinh! This show makes me want to start a t-shirt for big and tall men. Lol. Cant believe they couldnt find a tshirt to fit the star of this movie lol
I didn't see that coming. I grew up in the South. When you saw someone buying up lots of grain, without enough livestock to account for the need, you thought, Moonshiner, not counterfeiter.
They bought animal feed because it contains diamataceous earth and bought a herd of cattle to cover buying the feed. If he was into chemicals he would have known you can buy truck loads of pure diamataceous earth.
@tin soldier. I think that's the point Reacher was making. If they used cattle feed (containing D.E.) to soak up spills, no one is the wiser. That's why the company bought the cattle - to make their heavy feed purchases look normal. Reacher wouldn't have figured it out if it weren't for the fisherman.
If you just buy the pure d.e. it sticks out, though. Much easier to spot. That's the whole point. You spend more for the animal feed because no one notices the animal feed -- if you have enough cows.
@@philledwith8307 This is the reason. Sure he could just order truckloads of diamataceous earth, but when someone notices and then see's he has no reason for it in his legal businesses, it sets off a shitload of red flags. It's the same reason why people who make meth don't just walk into a drug store and buy a pallet of decongestants with pseudoephedrine. They space it out over time and multiple stores, because the government knows pseudoephedrine is a key component to making meth, so they watch for it being bought in large quantities.
But that is part of the reason why Reacher likes her (And to be fair, Roscoe is no slouch either, she was selected as I believe FBI but she failed, not because of her lack of capabilities. But because she Scored I wanna say 80% on a mental fortitude (I forget the exact phrase, but essentially she was not mentally stable enough for the FBI because of her Rage)
Well he is far better than Tom Cruise who would have had to stand on a box. We who have read Lee Child for years have a very good idea of what Reacher looks like.
I agree with you 100 percent I have read all of Lee Childs reacher books and laughed when I saw Tom Cruise cast as reacher I get a movie going on in my head when I read Lee Childs reacher and I never saw Tom Cruise playing the part that’s a joke😂🤣 Little sawed off punk
Cruz is a m idget. He says he’s 5’7” tall. He’s probably more like 5’4”, to 5’5” tall. He should probably stick to horse jockey rolls. I never go to any of his movies anymore since he’s a member of Scientology, a cult that destroys families..
Ok.... I can go to my local garden/farm supply center and buy a semi load of food grade diatomaceous earth cheap. AND nobody will care. I couldn't imagine separating it from feed the process and the work to do it. It wouldn't be but less than a handful per bag of feed. It just used as a natural wormer. The next thing it's not toxic. SMH LOL still cool story line just have to ignore the facts and play along.
When my family was raising cattle (just enough to offset the grocery bills, three head at any one time) the feed came in 100-pound bags. Those sacks being unloaded looked less than half the size. If I were feeding 116 head I'd buy it un-bagged and auger it into a grain bin. No need to handle and re-handle all that grain.
@@LTVX2 be that as it may, whoever takes a fictional story about fictional characters as facts can't be helped ayway. Another idea, what if they bought the stuff in bags to disguise how much they really needed?
Problem: any bill over a 1 has a metal strip in it denoting the value of the bill. Been that way for a couple of decades. Its all tracked electronically. Much harder to counterfeit than just printing a new value on the face.
There's still 1980s bills in currency that looks new, I just got a few the other day and thought about it. If someone wanted to counterfeit it would be the older ones and you still could get away with it until the circulation of the old ones leave the currency
@@shable1436 the average US bill lasts 4.7 to 8 years, a 50 bill - 12.2 years and a 100 - 22.9 years, for a $1 bill it is 6.6 years. So for the story to work they need 1000's and 1000's for good condition 1's in pre metal strips in them.
Her accent is pretty good on certain words like "why" and "my" but disappears. Alan Ritchson does the quiet badass thing to perfection. He makes me shrink just watching him on here.
Not all Southerners have thick stereotypical accents. My mom is born and raised from Georgia and she doesn’t sound like it at ALL. I’ve met some people who only sound Southern when they pronounce certain words. It’s weird.
@@hothotheat3000 For me, it depends who I am around or talking to. My wife says she can tell the location of who I am talking to on the phone (Canada or US South) by how pronounced my accent is. I did not realize I was doing it until she said something. I'm told I don't normally have much of an accent but my roots show up sometimes. I can lay it on thick too, makes my wife laugh.
I don't understand this: We see the workers unloading the animal feed out of a warehouse into a pickup truck, which shows that the owner is shipping it out. Then Reacher says that the owner is bringing IN an 18-wheeler truckload of animal feed. Okay, so it's a lot of feed, but Reacher never establishes how long the feed is supposed to last for. A week? A month? A winter? It might be added that the cows are shown out on pasture, which would indicate less of a need for packaged feed, thus supporting Reacher's theory. Finally, the cows shown are Holsteins, which are milk cows. The owner would need a milking operation to go along with it. Black Angus would be a better choice: pasture-raised Black Angus beef would allow the owner to make a little extra on the side, thus providing additional income and cover for his real operation.
The workers are unloading a truck, into the back of pick up trucks of animal feed. Reacher notices that it seems they do this a lot as they were pretty routine and organized. The routineness of the unload is what clues Reacher in that they do this all the time. He also doesn't notice any cows or a lot of cows at the company which is what clues him into it seeming that there was too much animal feed.
When will there be other seasons. I already finished season 1. Hopefully all books will be done by lee child. This man should have played in place of Tom cruise. Love this guy in jacks part.
