Thanks for this. I have a 3 month old cockapoo and he is struggling to spend time alone in a room. I think I'm guilty of not enforcing boundaries enough and can see the makings of these issues. Its really tough walking him as people just come up to him all the time... I guess the only thing I can do to stop that would be to just let people know - still... Very frustrating!

These poodle mixes are almost all the same. They look like toys so people don’t train them, they baby them and destroy them to the point where they don’t even know how to be a dog anymore.

AND…. Folks stop letting your pets come into your space uninvited. When you allow your dog in your space without an invitation you create a “needy” dog.

We took on a Jack Russell who had been a lock down puppy and by the time we had him he had 4 homes! We have spent a fortune to correct problems that others had given him!!

Poeple are all talk when it comes to saying how dogs are better than having a child. Until they realise raising a dog is not that far off from raising a decent human being.

I literally can't go out of my new puppies view... he is so clingy and now super humpy at only 11 weeks old. I feel bad about neutering. It made my older dog so timid. Literally getting your balls taken off... This is so helpful. 100% about obsession and unhealthy attachment... I'm terrible because he is so cute. Please come to Dublin. I love your accents btw. Dog owner, I'm guessing Irish, country Irish-with a tinge of UK!

Neutering doesn’t fix behavior, training does. In fact, neutering can make certain behaviors even worse. I would hire a good trainer who understands behavior. Obedience is the key. Most people just tend to give up, because they want a fast fix. Behaviors take TIME to undo. Hang in there, be consistent, don’t get emotional, and hold your dog accountable.

Brandon makes me think real hard about my life purpose. As a huge foreign fan of " dog" tv series i bought this book as a support ru-vid.comUgkxGQVgV21bQ7B9b9duQ1ByImyT9xHbjOKq . But the part that brandon wrote about how he become a trainer of homeless dogs makes me cry. It wakes me up and force me to think hard about what i'm doing in my life right now. He was willing to risk his job for what he believed : every homeless dog must have hope and a home. He committed to his promise that he would help saving lives. He never gave up and willing to sacrifice his secure career for it. That part alone changed my life, not even mention all dogs' stories he told throughout the book. They are all inspirational.

This sums up my GSD perfectly 😳 but once I’ve got my husband to watch this we can start making changes! Our girl loves middle and will sit there quite happily when out and about. Is that as acceptable as a simple sit? Or is it still too much attention?

He’s not being naughty he’s struggling with being away from his loved one 😢I felt for him (the dog) it’s like a child being away from their mum.
@manoharjishnu2009
@manoharjishnu2009 Год назад
Yes its sad. But a child being taken away from their mum is different from a child being away from them. Like going to school or going out with friends.

This dog isn’t struggling, it’s been taught that it’s okay to be rude. The owners have never taught it to deal with life. A healthy dog is a confident dog, not a neurotic dog. If you watch dogs in a pack, they don’t get neurotic when the leader moves around, and the leader would never allow another dog in the pack to DEMAND attention from them. Dogs are not humans with fur.

This has everything my dog does he’s 5 months and has started biting me if I leave the room screaming at me and if I get of the sofa he does it. I ignore his bad behaviour but it’s getting worse not better what can I do
@36891as
@36891as 4 месяца назад
Crate train, place train, don’t let dog follow you room to room, impulse control training, leave leash on, when bite, tell no and pop the leash and time out from you bc that is what the dog wants more than anything to be near you.

@scaligeri44
@scaligeri44 Год назад
@@chrisr-m6568 nope, I’m not a trainer, but I know multiple people who are. I would be willing to show you which is the right and wrong way to put them on but YT doesn’t allow picture replies. You are correct in that technically they can GO ON either way, but there is a RIGHT way for both control and safety of the dog. Google it and educate yourself.
@southenddogtraining1

Your are not wrong if you have your slip on your dog to walk on your left but then walked your dog on your right the lead would will only ever tighten and never slack off
@chrisr-m6568
@chrisr-m6568 Год назад
@@scaligeri44 Thanks but I don't need to google it! because I don't think I know! its like having a right-handed dumbbell you can pick up a dumbbell with ether hand. as far as the technical part if the dog is not pulling it will loosen once the slack of the leash moves over the dogs head or neck regardless of what side you 're on. My issue is not even with the slip lead its these micro things dog trainers create in a way to be unique.
