FROM LEAD PULLING TO WALKING POLITELY IN LESS THEN 15 MINUTES:
Meet Storm, a nice overly friendly Husky. Storm pulls on his lead and when he sees another dog he gets very excited and starts hopping around on his back legs.
This video you will see how in less then 15 mins we take Storm from a dog that pulls to a dog that's more chilled and under control.
Sometimes all you need is the right tool for the job, the right energy and just to break things down simply in a way a dog can understand.

Great video. I love that you use the example of a dog that actually does pull on a leash rather than a dog thats already perfectly trained.

My dog was pulling like he was crazy. A harness made him pull and pull and pull. I tried a slip lead, whoa changed my life.

Mine pulls on the slip leash too, and then gags and coughs. I'm clueless about where I need to improve myself.

@@sumitvet is the slip lead high behind the ears as placement can make a big difference I've found if it moves lower I've got as much control as can normal collar. Depending on size of dog could do like I did with my shepherd I had harness with handle to be able to grab I also had a 5ft leadcon it but I attached to a belt I can use my body easy to keep in place and don't get pulled off balance while also using slip lead to teach no pulling like in the video. She's a smaller female at 29.5kg now but only filled out from 25kg in past 10 months. I usedca head collar with my leonberger as well as slip lead for extra control if he decided to ignore me being attached to him which he did with his 65kg and still growing teenage body. I now use just slip lead or even collar and lead but have head collar for if take to busy places like town or even vets

@@sumitvet try this: 1. Teach light leash pressure. Get high value treats, a slip lead, and line your dog up against a wall or garage door. You block him from going sideways. Put treats in left hand. Use right hand and lightly pull on leash. Keep pressure until he moves forward. Reward with other hand. Change direction. After doing that a while, add backing up. You’re trying to show him that the leash is communication, not a ball and chain. 2. Walk w the slip lead. The second he hits the end of the leash or tugs, you say, “No” or “Nope,” stop completely, and you just stand there until he’s calm. Sometimes mix it up and change direction. He has to learn that pulling in the leash activated the brakes. If he wants to go forward, he has to float on the lead without hitting the end. It doesn’t matter if you only go 20 feet while working on this.

just remembered to check this out this is how i walk mine on a one to one but with one in each hand star just tries to pull non stop so the walk is start stop start stop takes double the time and is murder on the knees with all the sudden stops so i end up putting randy on the belt and he gets ignored for most of the walk star gets all the attention :(

Totally loved this! Using a dog who's really out of control! Question so my pup is constantly curious... can't walk normal with out her smelling every single objects! Slip on leash will stop that? Hope to hear from you! Thank you!

Yes if used correctly it should remove nose from the ground and make the dog proud to follow you however you need to make leash go high in the neck for that
@mariaberdeja2331

Just remember it’s okay to let your dog sniff around. Walking them should be for their enjoyment and not always strict training. of course using the slip lead but still let he or she sniff around. My dog had this habit and she’s 10 months now and doesn’t do it as much anymore

That harness seemed loose, my dog would back out of that in less than 10 seconds, I find the harnesses with 3 straps are pretty effective, stopped mine escaping anyway.

Well....yes many nice points here but....we did not see Storm with the owner. Slip leads have a learning curve. Inexperienced owners will almost always have the leash constantly tight. Its one thing when a trainer with lots of experience shows the change. Quite another when the owner screws it up

Storm wasn't pulling & using a slip lead is the same as using a choker, it works by restricting the dogs airway. Correctly fitted & constructed harness does NOT encourage pulling, his harness is not only poorly constructed, but it obviously doesn't fit & way to big. Should have 2 lead attachment points one at the front & one on top. Very old school methods with no real structure

@@sarahcoates8449 he gets the results by inflicting pain, his Illusion sliplead(named after his ex wife)& neck collar are used up high under the ears, pulled tight & fixed using the stopper & kept in place by the neck collar. This is very painful for the dog which is why it doesn't pull, the only part of the sliplead that isn't under tension is the part between his hand & the stopper. He doesn't know or understand loose lead walking
