I’m surprised how similar the accent is to the Scottish highland accent. I knew the people there including my relatives are descended from a mix of Irish and Vikings from Norway but I didn’t expect the accent and rhythm to be that similar.
I listened to this only knowing English n alot of German from my childhood...it took like four times listened but I think i understand like a quarter of this conversation....wtf?
Easy to understand Norsk with your dialects and the way you are talking ( slowly and clearly) 👍🏻😁but Norsk not so easy to understand in everyday life with different dialects, slang and normal speech speed🤪
this is why quit studying bokmål ... in daily life I heard people talk in such a different way compared to what I was learning... heck, I can now read Norwegian newspapers lol
@@timoloefwhat should I learn? where can I even begin to learn the spoken language? like I hear the person talking, if there’s subtitles I can track the words on the news, but if someone were to talk to me about hva er typisk norsk I wouldn’t be able to understand them. I understood every word here, I could absolutely hold a strong conversation about almost anything with these two.
I think Norwegian sounds prettier to the ear than swedish. Norwegian flows more smoothly whereas swedish is more choppy. With that said, it's only a minimal difference.
The German part would be correct, the Russian part however is totally wrong. There's like 0% Russian there, none at all. Perhaps because it sounds weird to you like the way Russian also is weird sounding to you but it would have as much in common with Russian as Japanese would.
As a person that speaks English as a second language at a bit more than conversational degree and just started to learn German, at first I was like "yeah, it's actually quite understandable" but after the second sentence it all falls apart. Them Vikings are a scary bunch.
